Trying not to strangle DD1. We had a miscommunication about what she needs to wear for all of her 8th grade festivities this week. I misunderstood what she needed. She also really didn't present clearly what she needed. Ok. Fine,. Let's just fix it.
I ordered two dresses. Fingers crossed one of them fits her, or she's SOL. And we couldn't find shoes she liked. I asked her a week ago to get me links of shoes she wanted so I could get them ordered. She never did that.
And the one dress we already bought she sort of only likes a little bit, but apparently agreed to it to please me. Which I never asked her to do. Lord help me we have to do this two more times. Yeah, I bought my DD a dress she didn’t like for 8 th grade grad, or maybe she did like it, or intended to wear it, I remember whatever she wanted to wear did not meet dress code. I would not have bought anything for an 8th grader that was actually inappropriate. DD dug in and refused to go to the graduation ceremony.

Good morning! I have an injection later today, so no coffee for me this morning. Boo! I didn't sleep well last night. I think I'm getting a cold. Or it's bad allergies. I have a cough which I normally don't have with allergies. Hopefully it will all clear up soon. I hate having a full blown cold in the summer! I won't do much when we get home. There will be a nap to sleep off the sedation, then probably not a lot else.
Hoping you all have a good Monday!
I didn't sleep well either. I think I had too little hydration and my sinuses weren't happy enough.

Amused. I have a rubber like screen protector for my fitbit. I bought a 3 pack of them like 2 years ago for $5 and lost the first two pretty early on as they tend to get caught on things and pop off. Well, the third one I have lost countless times, but it always seems to show up somewhere. I mean, I have gone down to lunch and seen it sitting next to the microwave at work, found it randomly out in the yard, and in the bottom of the recycling when I was emptying the cans. It's been gone for several days now and I was sure it was gone for good this time. I was walking into work this morning and what do I see lying in the parking lot?

Can't find my phone. Not sure I care as that could make for a quiet day. Pretty sure one of the kids ran off with it.

Sitting at the kitchen table having a late breakfast. I had 2 eggs and some pancakes. DD2 already had formula but she’s now eating a pancake. She’ll be taking a nap soon as she looks tired too…
DD2 starts daycare in 2 weeks! 🎉😢 (Mixed blessing. I’ll miss the time with her but I do have a full-time job as does DH.)

Need to call my student loan company. Reading the guidelines for loan forgiveness I qualify and may have made enough payments that I could actually get back pay.
BUT my loans are older Stafford Loans and don't qualify. I'd have to see if I can consolidate again to the approved type of loan. I'd have to get this all done by October.
I think it's worth a shot. I consolidated in 2006 because interest rates were going to go up and I had a hard time finding my first job. I was told at the time that was the only way to really do anything about my payments. In your early 20s you aren't exactly doing the math that you'll be in your mid 40s when you finally pay the damn thing off.
The payment is not a burden it's affordable. It is however annoying to continue to stare at it every month. I'm thinking if there is a tool that can make it go away earlier that I'd be an idiot to not look into it.

Up and drinking coffee. My throat was scratchy yesterday, and I was feeling kind of punkish so was worried I picked up Covid from my sister. Negative test this morning, and coffee tastes good. However, I have some eye itch thing going on, so am assuming allergies. I don’t remember itchy eyeballs being a symptom.
Not sure what we have on the agenda this week…..nothing, I hope! I think we traumatized the animals, dumping them so quickly after we returned. Sheldon was very needy last night.

Where did the time go?! It is flying by! She’s 9.5 months old. By the time she starts daycare, she’ll be a week shy of 10 months old. She’s crawling everywhere and getting into everything!! Hence, the reason she’s going. We like both of our incomes and we quiet like how we live so daycare it is. 😉

I posted some things on BuyNothing, and all but one item were swooped up quickly. The last item, a large basket with dried and silk flowers, was spoken for, and the person who wanted them kept postponing the pickup or asking if she could let me know later in the week, etc. It took a few weeks. Finally she said she would pick it up last evening. I put it outside my front gate with a white plastic garbage bag around the top and sides of it. It was too large to fit into that bag completely. This morning I peek out the front window and see the basket is gone but the plastic bag is there. (Hmm. Why?) I go out to retrieve the bag and see that she apparently ripped out a bunch of the dried flowers and stuffed them into my front shrubs. Not just put them in my shrubs, but stuffed them in. Now i have to stick my hands into the shrubs to get them out, and then surely sweep the sidewalk. Technically this is the HOA's turf but who knows when they will be trimming the bushes. They already did spring trimming. Still, I am glad the basket and flowers are gone. But if she didn't want the dried flowers, why didn't she stuff them into the plastic garbage bag and either leave it behind or take it with her to dispose of? DGD was in the hospital this past week, with RSV. She's home now. I was looking forward to the day I could stop worrying about my kids. You never do, but it does get better as they get settled in life. I didn't think I'd have to start up full tilt with the grandchildren. I can see that will never end.

It's just the price of everything has skyrocketed, we will be doing the work ourselves. And we aren't doing anything unnecessary. I would like to have hubs put in a d/w, he says not enough room, but there's enough cabinet room and it won't hurt resale. He said he might. The countertops will be probably $300 but a new sink and faucets will cost. We may put laminate down, will see. I can do that. The bathroom is the expensive fix. But even paint is expensive anymore, but we will get it done, we haven't lost money on anything yet, let's hope this isn't it. Like I said we haven't had to do much to it, but just wear and tear and age is what made fixing up happen. Extra work for us cleaning up the dirt. Thankfully it's not new stuff we have to replace. Is this the same place where your husband wants to drywall the garage? Is that necessary? Why not just spray paint the garage as it exists? If there's no drywall I assume you're talking about studs. I do get why I think you want to fix it up to be nice. In a small rural area where you own multiple rental properties where you've fixed them up, you want to maintain a reputation or brand. Word of mouth travels fast and you want people to know, if it's yours, that it will be nice. But don't go overboard. Even $2-$3K extra could be spent on travel to see your son, cover your prescription drug co-pays, etc. Fixing it up to be refreshed, and clean is good, but fixing it up to be more than that is likely not going to get you anything more than giving you the "feel goods" about the place.

@mich wanting to claw my eyeballs out is definitely one of my allergy symptoms. I also get eye goop and crusted over eyes at times. NomoreDramaQ1015 definitely apply for the loan forgiveness. I kept reading they changed the rules but couldn't find specifics anywhere. I sent my paperwork in at the end of October. I got the forgiveness in mid March. They are not quick.

I'm feeling whiny today. waahh.... after record heat two days ago, mid60s feels cold today. I've rinsed my car off with the hose twice already today, and it's already covered in pollen again. I am all kinds of crampy, and my eyes are itchy/watery. I'm over today.

I'll join you in whining about those things chiver. I ran lunch time errands in yoga pants and a hoodie. After spending Saturday and Sunday outside in 90+ with Florida humidity, I'm freezing to death today and it's 68 right now. Tuesday is going to be even colder.

I'm sitting outside in a hoodie, hoping the sun will warm me up. I refuse to turn the heat back on in the house, but it's cold in there. (I love that about this house, actually, that it stays cool. just not today)

I just ordered a new dishwasher. I told Mister last night that I do NOT like hand washing a bunch of dishes, so if I’m going to have to wash dishes EVERYBODY in the house older than 12yo is going to have to wash dishes REGULARLY and I meant it. This morning I sent him a couple of links to dishwashers and he called me and told me to just order the darn thing and which card to use. So I got another Bosch like I had before I moved here. It’s supposed to be delivered Saturday, just in time for the holiday weekend. YAY! Because I’ve disliked this stupid dishwasher from the first time I used it.

That's amazingly quick, @pinkcshmere. My daughter bought a new dishwasher a year or two ago and the wait was months long. I thought chiver78 had a similar wait. Anyway, I'm with you. I do not like to handwash dishes.

I'm incredibly jealous of that short wait time. I ordered mine between xmas/new year and it just arrived last week.

Yes, I remembered chiver78 saying hers was recently delivered after a long wait when I was looking this morning. I was excited to see I could have one delivered by Saturday. There were a lot of them unavailable. I didn’t like paying full price for it but I felt like waiting and watching for a good price might mean waiting forever to actually get one in the house.

I cannot express how much I hate being included in group chats. My phone is chirping off the hook today over the discussion of Stella's MRI. I have no idea who Stella is or the person sending the messages.

I LOVE a Bosch, this is my second one, had one in the other house. Super quiet and washes clean, will never have a different kind.
I sent son enough money to buy DIL a new one, the one in the house was awful and she said filthy?? So they got a Bosch, almost $2k, she called one day and said it's the best ever. Hers has a flat tray in the top for silver, knives, and items like that. Money well spent.
I'm in a great mood again today! DD and I went for a check at the docs. Our blood work is good, our blood pressure, oxygen, heart rates, and everything. She lost to 128, I only lost a pound. At home weigh stripped down so was 153.8, but there 157 with clothes on. But like they said at least you are losing some and not gaining, going to have to try harder.
So really good reports for both of us. Hubs did his medicare wellness check, but I said he needs to go into his doc for blood work and just a check, been almost a year. He was good too.
Doc said keep doing whatever you are doing, it's working! Yep, told her very little processed foods.
We stopped at a local restaurant that is good. I had a bratwurst, wasn't very big, with sauteed peppers and onions, soooo good. They had pasta salad and chips with it. I ate a few chips and the tomatoes out of the salad only. Now I'm eating some grapes.

I just pulled thistles from our front yard for an hour. I'm probably 1/3 done.
Thank god for bubble machines. And bubble baths. And for four year olds that can be easily entertained.
