A lot of people fall on the autism spectrum and learn coping skills. My son is one, but Melody's son is so very very sick. He will never be able to get married or live alone. All normal human functions are off the table. My heart breaks for him and his long-suffering mother.

today's been nutty(not in a bad way, just a lot!), and I'm going to bed soon before I fall asleep on the couch. 🥱 if anyone is looking for a bonded pair of large adult dogs to adopt I've got a pair for you. a friend of mine lost her sister earlier this year, these are her dogs. neither A nor I have space for another two big dogs, I'd have taken them before I sprained my ankle. I have way more thoughts on today, but I'll hold off for now. I seriously need to get off this couch, wake up the pups for last outs, and just go to bed. have a good night, all! If I didn't have the twins I totally would. That's what I want to do when they're gone. I'll travel for a bit and then adopt the underdogs. I want to save as many as possible from dying in a shelter.

I had to stop at the store for a few things. I decided to splurge on something that is extremely rare to do. There was a starbucks in the store. I decided to try a small pumpkin spice latte. That was the worst 6.50 i have ever spent. wait for gingerbread season, that's way better. ask for half the usual syrup, and none of those gross candies (I hear a rumor those were coming back again). add your own nutmeg to taste. 🤤 FWIW, my "typical" Sbux order is an unsweetened iced herbal tea. and by typical, I mean quarterlyish. lol... When I say rare, I do mean rare. About the only time I have Starbucks is when I fly. I haven’t flown since before Covid, and even then it wasn’t often. The most I have flown is when I was living in Ft Worth in 2013-2015 for work and DH stayed in FL. I drink my coffee straight up, hazelnut.

Listening to spa music, very relaxing.
Everyone is in bed but me. Hubs helped clear the table, put the clean mattress pad and sheet on DD's bed and got grandson in the shower. I did the rest.
A friend of his he worked with called, he is toying with going back to work, he is in his 70's too and they are trying to get him to go, its in Africa again. I heard hubs say if you go well then I will too. He got off the phone and I said are you kidding me? He said no they can't find younger guys that have the knowledge we old guys have. Think its in collaboration with a Chinese company they have worked with before. I said you can't be serious you have to have cancer checks he said I would be home every 8 weeks. I'm not going to say anything else, we will see what happens. Both of them have had illnesses. He has been offered work before. I hope he isn't serious, will just let it ride and see what happens. There is no physical labor involved just supervision, but still....
Need to get Smokey up and head to bed shortly, night all.

Good morning, illustrious invisipeeps, gaining promotions, doing chores, caring for canines and redoing homes. Welcome to Saturday. I hope your day offers you much good mirth and maybe some cheesecake or, if you're lactose intolerant, meringues. I spent a good part of yesterday working on calendars for 2025. It's challenging to pick the best pictures for the months. DD was asked to work as the lead provider at a flu shot clinic in Boston on Tuesday next week. She agreed; she needs the $$. I told her that we'll want to leave 2.5 hours before she needs to be there at 8 a.m. just because traffic. Going home should not be a problem. This is in a nice posh part of Boston, so should be a good day. It's gotten quite chilly here at night, down to the low 40's. I must find my winter gloves to walk the beach in the morning. Today I have no significant plans except for maybe organizing my part of the bedroom. It's daunting but needs to be done. I'll bring up a small set of shelves from the basement to start. I don't think DH will be needing dialysis for some time to come so I'm not going to worry about space for supplies. Ozempic is a great medication. Yesterday's dawn was very nice and before it I saw a Great Blue Heron stalking breakfast amont the rocks:

Well. It's official. I am now a senior billing specialist. Didn't even need to interview for it. Came with a 2 buck raise which I'll take because Hera's been real expensive lately. Oy . Now though? Now my fat butt is on vacation!! Not going anywhere but that's ok. Maybe next year I'll go to Andi's so I can claim my giraffe room Congrats!

Congrats empress!
We have a busy weekend of mundane. I have mixed feelings about that.
Every year my surgeon and I have discussions about taking things for granted. She's like go ahead and I'm like should I though?
I tell you it was much easier dealing with this.in a pandemic right after a parent passing. maybe it was easier knowing that i had cancer rather than a 30% I could.
What a cluster this all is. Being reminded tomorrow may not come for any of us

I got my paper pieces for the quilt I've been drooling over lately. The directions are amazing and I don't need to think.with this one either, once my.fabric.starts.comimg. the directions explain which fabdic.to use for.each block and how to work on it in sections so its not.overwhelming.
I also need some shows to binge. I'm on a house kick right now, which is out. Ncis.and.er are also out. I am watching northern exposure. I'm mad because I wanted.to binge beetle juice and I don't think I can either.
I like old shows because I've seen them and can use.them for background when I work.
Newer shows are ok but then I have to have mindless knitting or crafting.
Its hard being me.

I'm also staring at a day of mundane. I need to clean the bathrooms again, as somehow the air duct cleaning on Thursday meant blowing stuff all over those rooms. but nowhere else? oy. tons of laundry, pup food prep, and changing out a water bath on a thawing turkey every couple of hours so it finishes thawing. I pulled the damn thing on Tuesday morning and it's still solid in the middle. I think it might be time to unwrap the damn thing and just dunk it completely. most brine recipes say up to 24h, so I'm not worried about it sitting in water for a half day to finish thawing.

I watched it when it came out, but watching it recently, I realized how much I missed.

It's the last farmer's market of the season. I'll go walk around with my dog as soon as I get caffeinated enough. They don't have very much produce lately, so I don't go very often. My dog enjoys the socializing, though. Also, sometimes there is a baby goat she is in love with.

I had to get up at 5 to get Carrot to his bus and now I'm really dragging. Today is Sam's Club run and mowing the pasture. Pretty low key list.

We checked out a garage sale that was a guy who bids on storage units.
Holy crap it was a huge sale! Much of it wasn't garage sale prices more estate store prices.
DH had to drag me away from a few things.
He had half a table of die cast pencil sharpeners like my grandma's. He didn't have the globe though. I have no idea where grandma's went and I've been looking for a replacement it was my favorite growing up.
I got my dad and Bob each a belt buckle so Christmas checked off there.
I found a painting for a $1. On the back it says it's Mexican feather craft. The birds are made entirely of feathers.
It's a tourist piece but it's still really freaking cool. I hope whoever it belonged to is happy it found a new home. I need to decide where to hang it.

Read my book and have no clue about the show. When I read I am totally deaf to any other noise! My friends think I’m nuts. They have to total silence to read.

I need to get my butt in gear in the packing department. The Big Lots up north is going out of business. I'm going to see if I can find some stuff for the new house. I did get a walking pad for my office during prime days. I should stop by Aldi today and see if I can score some boxes.

Total Wine always has boxes at the registers, not sure if you have one near you. between those and the huge banana crates the village market would save for me, I was mostly all set when I packed up the last place.

If you know any friends or neighbors who receive pet food from Chewy, ask them to save the boxes. I receive eight 24 can cases of cat food from Chewy in very sturdy boxes every two weeks and flatten the boxes out and put them out for trash pickup.

DH is out of town this weekend so it’s just me and both DDs. Once a year, my work does a community landscaping clean up. For my location, that was this morning! The girls and I had a great time! We had lunch before we left and have been home for about 30 minutes. DD1 is looking at the library website for books to place on hold while DD2 is watching a Disney+ show. I’m goofing around on my phone. Soon, we’ll need to work on our dessert for dinner tonight. We are having my mom over for dinner as her birthday was yesterday. Other than that, a low-key weekend!

Do you maintain a cat sanctuary or did you just fail to listen to all those people who said, "You need to save and invest now or you will be eating cat food in retirement."

I’m scheduled for jury duty this month and I’ve been told to check a website after 6pm to see if I’m needed for the upcoming week. For the 1st 2 weeks, the status had been updated and I wasn’t needed for those weeks. I’ve checked multiple times since yesterday evening and today already, and it’s not updated yet for this upcoming week! Monday is a holiday so won’t get answer than. If it doesn’t show I’m not needed before then, I guess I show up on Tuesday and assume that I’m needed.
FWIW, I’m called for federal court and the court house is 1.25 hours away (assuming no traffic). I’m really hoping I’m not needed!

Three days of no phone, internet or TV -- we did fine with the rest of the storm aftermath. We are cleaned up and the lawn mowed and all the bushes are trimmed. I do need to wash my car tomorrow, after I run. There is a lot of tornado damage around us. Unreal what I saw going to swim practice. Main roads were clear, but still a lot of cleanup. People with damaged homes or no homes, a lot of power still out.
We had plenty to eat and we were safe. We are grateful.

Weltz, I'm guessing Algeria or Angola, I didn't ask, I think they had some unfinished projects there. I can't see this happening, if it did I would be surprised, surely they are not that desperate.
And I spend a ton on catfood and litter too, I should buy stock in a catfood company. Since keeping track of the cost its even more than I realized, wow.
We are getting ready to start cutting back shrubs today, waited till it warmed up some. While he is getting the trailer, I'm washing my back windows again with lots of ammonia and vinegar. This will be the last hurrah for this year. I like walking back into our bedrooms and hallway, all clean and bright, well we won't discuss flooring, we will get it done this fall.
Okay, got to get busy

I just topped off my tires now that I dug up the pump. Then I wiped the headlight covers with RestoWipe, which promises to improve the light output. Ours has gotten remarkably dim.
Next, the website.
