Ok, I really need to get off my ass. The store closes at 7 and I don't want to be that person that comes in 5 minutes before closing expecting to leisurely shop. I need 3 things, so it won't take that long. Still I need to get my ass in gear.

When I finally get a new house, feel free to visit. I'd love to corrupt you for a weekend. I'll help with the flight if needed. I would also chip in for the flight, and crash the corruption party. Me three.

I volunteered to try to find current addresses of some of our lost high school classmates.
The two people who have been doing it said they are only finding deceased classmates on Family Search. Yes, that is all they show.
However, on Ancestry there are databases with information for living people. Our senior year yearbook is on Ancestry so I can find them. Next I see obituaries of their parents and one thing leads to another. Then I check the real estate records and there they are.
I have looked for 9 classmates so far and found 4 of them. It's because of the obituaries of their parents and then the address databases that are on Ancestry.
These people probably don't care that we graduated 55 years ago.

Mister and I have not been successful so far with tiring our dogs out. I remember one day we let them run around outside for a while, then we entertained them with the flirt pole, to try to make them tired enough to act like normal dogs when we took them to the park as planned. They still both acted like crazy dogs at the park that day. Not really crazy dogs, but unruly and disobedient because they wanted to greet every person and dog, despite our commands, and they wanted to sniff all the things and chase whatever small animals they saw. I’ve read a million times that a tired dog is a happy dog, but no matter what we’ve done so far, using tools and tricks to try to keep from killing ourselves while trying to tire our dogs out, they still don’t stay tired for more than 10 minutes. Regarding the rest of the post, I’m very sorry they had to put down a fur baby. That is never easy for anyone that loves their fur babies, and it’s not insignificant when an animal lover just knows somebody else had to do it. And now imma just be nosey and ask, are M and Mooch an item, as in being in a romantic relationship with each other? Maybe I’m just clueless, but that never was a thought for me until today. And the answer is neither here nor there, I’m just being nosey, so if you choose to ignore the question, that’s good too, and I won’t ask again. yeah, we've had a bunch of conversations about it since the first time I'd heard that putting him down was a possibility and I called the rescue b/c that was the only contact # I had (I was missing a TON of details, since we hadn't been around each other while LD recuperated from knee surgery) so I knew things hadn't changed. I didn't know they had escalated as much as they had, I actually found out about the last attack on M from another friend who was checking up on me and my busted foot. as mooch said, this pup (C) was 99% pure love. it was that last 1% that was scarily unpredictable, and now they know why. one attack on mooch left him resting/napping in the spare bedroom with his arm propped up over his head. mooch told me he woke up with 90lbs of C as dead weight on his chest, waiting on Papa to wake up. he was all interested in the new boo-boo and wanted to lick it to help. he had zero recollection of anything that had happened where he had caused that new boo-boo. I'm tearing up just relaying these stories. we all had tears today. Punk did a deep dive into the toy bin, pulling out toys I've never seen her go after - they were apparently all of C's favorites. okay, I'm cleaned up now. your pups are WAY younger than mine are, and we've been couch potatoes for at least the last month since I tripped. as in, they have been leashed and under my control maybe twice during that time? I've thrown them in the car a few times to drive around wherever for a change of scenery once I started driving again, but that's it. today reassured me that I'm good to bring them back to daycare this coming week, though. I can definitely handle driving that far, and I can control them on leash without falling over haha. but as far as your two - have you considered day care at all? LD is the class clown at our place, they love him. and they really loved having the pair for a week when I boarded them last winter. but, it's good to help with socialization, and they are both generally out cold and snoring before I even get back on the highway. most daycares also have basic trainings associated, that would help with some of the other stuff you mentioned. oh, and yes - M and mooch are an item. they apparently have been since I was having the plumbing issues in this house right after I moved in. very long story short, one of the other guys was trying to move in on her while everyone was here. she'd come up to hang out with me and the pups while the guys all worked. and mooch was realizing that he needed to make a move or lose his chance. I didn't realize it til at least the following summer, TBH, so you're not clueless. he seemed surprised until I pointed out that to me, their dynamic looks EXACTLY the same as it was from the day I met her. he paused a beat and conceded the point. lol... I am very sorry to read that C had something physical going on that was causing him to be unpredictable and occasionally attack his family even though he was a good dog otherwise. The only possible good thing about the situation is that they cared enough to try to find out what was really going on with him, and when they learned the reason, they did what they thought was best for him and his humans. That doesn’t make it not be sad, I’m just saying that they did their best for him, and more than a lot of other people would’ve done, even with the tough decision they ended up having to make. No, we’ve never considered day care for our dogs. Mister often accuses me of being “foo foo” and I am sure he would laugh his ass off if I suggested it. And to be honest, I’d laugh at me too lol. Mister and I don’t have the same days off work, so the dogs are only home alone 3 days out of 7. I honestly think that if we were more diligent about being good dog parents, we wouldn’t have most of the issues that we do with our dogs. I do believe that they need regular exercise, beyond just letting them run around out in our big backyard, but I also believe that the issues in the park that day wouldn’t have happened if they were better trained. I know that not everyone agrees with my beliefs about proper dog training, but I have experienced IRL, the difference between well trained dogs and dogs that don’t have the same kind of training. I am far from an expert, but I do know that life was easier when I had a dog that weighed as much as I did at the time, but my young children that weighed even less than I did, could walk her on a leash without issues. I could and did often take her out in public wherever it was ok for a dog to be, and all was well. But that was the result of me working with her consistently, twice a day, every day, staring when she was a puppy, and also teaching my children and involving them in the training. It was a lot of work and effort, but the end result was very much worth all of it. My big Poodle “only” weighed about 55lbs, but even though he had a bad attitude, even my children could keep him under control and walk him on a leash without him terrorizing random people. So taking both dogs out and about at the same time was never a problem, even if my children were holding the leashes. All of that to say, maybe Mister and I are just too old and too lazy to have the dogs we have now. I’ve tried to find and use tools to try to give them more exercise without me dying in the process, but it’s obviously still not enough for our dogs. That’s on us for having dogs that have more energy than we can keep up with, and I don’t blame the dogs at all for being who and what they are. Neither of them are dog aggressive, or even aggressive to humans, they both just like to investigate shit and let their noses take them wherever, whether it’s where their humans want to go or not. And Newbie has a very strong prey drive, and small critters are everywhere, so yeah, it’s fun taking her for a walk. NOT!

That sucks. I wondered what happened to that dog. Sounds like they did what they could. they really did. and they both could hardly stay in the room when they showed me they'd put the box with his ashes in the big bay window, where he'd bark at traffic going by. box, his collar on top, and a swatch of fur. in the fallout of my calling the rescue awhile back, mooch said to me that he wasn't giving this pup back to be adopted out to anyone else, where he could maim or kill a small child with the unpredictable. that he was going to love this boy every day of his life, whether it ended in weeks or months after more of this stuff, or if it was 15 years from now and he just went to sleep. and that's exactly what they did. and shit, now I'm crying again. I am so sorry. I had a cat that started getting yippy at everyone except me. None of my friends would touch her. Took her to the vet and she had brain cancer. I didn't bring her back home either.

We just discovered that someone tried to break into our garage. The only angle of approach that the camera doesn't capture is someone coming directly from the neighbor's back yard. The neighbors who have no apparent source of income and sit on the porch smoking weed all day, but I don't want to point fingers. Anyway, we ordered a new camera mount and will install the extra camera early in the week. Also, super handy DH reinforced something or other to make it harder to break into. Oh no! One of my female coworkers has camera footage of someone that avoided the cameras to get on her property, and used a stick or something to push the camera at her front door up, to face the sky, while they broke into her house. After that, I learned that it’s not exactly uncommon for thieves to do that. That made me revisit how our cameras are angled, to make sure that anybody approaching our house from any direction could be caught on camera before they even got close enough to try to move the cameras at their intended point of entry. When I was child, after someone broke into our house, my uncle reinforced the doors to make it more difficult to kick them in, but I don’t remember exactly what he did. It was something in the frame around the doors. Maybe I need to ask now exactly what he did, just so I know. I have always been mindful of garage doors being a potential weak spot, so I always kept the emergency cord difficult to use from outside the garage. At my other house, I could lock the garage door down with a lock that I never had the key to lol. But it also had metal bars that I could slide into the lower part of the rails, to keep the door from being raised, even if the emergency cord was used. I used those metal bars a few times when the garage door opener was wonky, during the time between me calling someone to come out and when they could get there to fix it. Because in my mind, if somebody can get in the garage, if they let the garage door down, even a nosy neighbor won’t see them breaking the door to get inside the house. Anyhoo, I am glad that whoever tried to break into your garage, didn’t actually get inside your house, and it doesn’t sound like they were able to actually steal anything. But just even trying it is a problem that I understand. Two things I can’t stand are liars and thieves.

I used to have a really well-trained lab mix. He also happened to be super smart. My brother and his buddies used to take him to the park to help them pick up women. It worked. Of course the women didn't stick around too long after they realized the dog wasn't actually theirs.

Every time I went to Jamaica, I stayed with friends who owned a villa there. They're Montrealers. They just invited me to go see Beres Hammond at the Olympia Theatre. Tickets start at $100, their treat. That's a lot of money to see an obscure Jamaican reggae singer, whose heyday was in the 70s. Anyway, it's nice of them, and I'm looking forward to it.

Well, it's official. The mosquitoes here (and there are a LOT of those little suckers this year) are getting smarter. Like, how NOT to die, and make your victim mad at you all at once. Twice in the last week (including tonight) I've gotten bitten on the outside upper part of my arm, where it's nearly impossible to swat them & connect. Die you little vampires!

The paperwork is sorted and boxed. I'm very happy about that, the big waste container is full for the second time from those drawers, I can't believe I was able to throw so much away. In about another year, much more will go. With MIL getting VA benefits and DD medicaid I did keep a few years. So end of next year or next will go. I may get through those tonight.
So while I'm sitting here watching telly I'm going through cook books, over half are going to the sale. I'm still sorting so some are going with me.A lot of them came from MIL and they are from local churches and places. If I keep 1 likely will have most of the recipes. I also kept a couple of really good amish ones. The recipes in those look really good.
The place is finally starting to look bare, pictures down, decorative items down, so a difference for sure and boxes stacked everywhere. I hope I can get it done early so I can attack the landscaping and make it better. Next weekend will be our next sale.
I have not done much in DD's room, but I will. I'm going to order 4 big narrow boxes for pictures and some of the smaller tellys. If I need more will just wrap items with blankets.
Time for me to get the kitties in, we were able to let them out but hubs has the garage doors closed where they normally come in so I'm sure they are confused.

The bedroom is finished being moved around. Only thing I need to find a home for is DH's ashes. They were on a table next to the bed but I replaced it with a much smaller one so his happy fat ass needs to go elsewhere. Where, I know not. Guess in the corner cabinet in the living room for now.

When we were in Fiji a couple years ago, that’s exactly where I got bit. I think at one time I counted 20-25 bumps on one arm. No wonder I woke up with bloody sheets, I was scratching myself taw in my sleep.

Me too, mosquitoes love me.
I fixed hubs and DD spaghetti for dinner, they were both happy and ate it all. I'm having 2 bratwurst with my favorite German kraut, of course they both don't like it either. We sure eat different, even after all these years.
We hadn't heard much fireworks and wouldn't you know at 10 tonight they are shooting them off like crazy. It doesn't bother the kitties but I'm sure it does some animals.

As it turned out, DH only walked for 25 minutes and i was able to run to the store. DD1 just hits a nerve sometimes. Good morning, wise and terrible invisipeeps of Y Ma'am, readying for tomorrow and tomorrow and so forth. Welcome to (suddenly!) Sunday. I hope this day is satisfying for you and you enjoy a Sunday sundae and some rest and relaxation. Yesterday's show went surprisingly well considering that some rain did fall. Our tent kept us and our works dry in the main and we made some sales. There were a good number of attendees, many of whom enjoyed our pieces. We had some gusty strong wind, too, that added some excitement to the show. But nothing fell off the tent walls, a testament to the technology that is an S hook. It is a lot of work, packing up the car, setting up the tent and tables and all our wares, then breaking it all down again at day end, packing it up and unloading at home. Framed prints are heavy. Small pieces demand organization. But over all it is enjoyable now. We had to leave the house by 6:00 a.m. to set up plus there was heavily overcast and drizzling skies, so I didn't get any pictures yesterday. I am sharing with you an image I caught quite a while ago that garners a lot of attention, printed on metal:

Putting DH to work today. Picked up charcoal yesterday. Took the cover off the big grill (it is a double-gas on one side, charcoal on the other) on the back deck this morning and emptied out the old ashes. He can sit and grill, if needed, but I'm getting some good old hamburgers and hot dogs today. I just need to dig out the hot dog chili from the freezer.

Last night was DD10's softball district championship, which they won by a large margin! This group of girls has been playing together since they were 6, and this is their fourth championship in a row. They're pretty talented and are good kids, too.
So, we invited like six of the families over for pizza and a fire, etc. I didn't get to bed until almost 4am. Like WTF I haven't stayed up that late in probably 15 years 😂
I'll pay for it today, I'm sure.
Now, onto the next round of softball playoffs next week!

Been doing a lot of thinking and I'm going to scale my personality WAY back at work.
We're talking to middle school me.
I thought I was doing well going back to server me but they still consider that too negative, too hyper and apparently I am dragging down morale though my coworkers insist I'm not it's management.
They insist I'm in surprisingly good spirits and almost have had them convinced nothing is wrong multiple times. They've said they would have burned the lab to the ground by now if they dealt with half of the BS I do.
The food scientists have never said anything about me. According to my coworker I was praised out the yin yang on our customer survey but I've never been allowed to see the comments even when I asked so I could fix whatever it my boss thought was wrong with me.
Hopefully that gets them off my back but as my work BFF pointed out it will likely swing to I'm not being outgoing enough again.
We'll see. I told DH I just have to compartmentalize even further and have two personalities. One for work and one for everyone else. Just like being a server you mold yourself to the table you are waiting on. Then change again for the next one.
I'm looking but there isn't a lot. Most who are hiring are retail. I'm expanding my searches to get more hits. We'll see.
I told DH I just have to be fake me until I find something.
I can't be Captain Dipshit though so this might fail. Which is what they seem to want since he got a better rating
That level of perky kiss ass requires I not have brain cells. He is a dumb puppy who won't do anything without consulting my boss.
I'm too smart and strong willed for that. They would see right through me and it would be further evidence against me.
And if I started performing like him all hell would break loose. That's also not in my nature and I won't screw over my team mates like he does.
I'm not doing mediation. She's clearly backed by upper management and it will just be more evidence of my bad attitude.
I'm going to very factually lay out why I'm not pursuing it. What HR does with the information after that is plausible deniability on my part. I said drop it.
I'll sit and see what happens with J. If she really gets in front of HR that is two of us with the same manager who have lodged complaints within days of each other.
Corporate is pissed about the survey results and coming down on them to fix it especially since our scores won't go up.
As others said the survey was going to start pushing shit to a head. We're all now waiting to see if it ever pops.

Interesting Kansas City must have grown out of the bathroom carpet phase.
I look sometimes for fun and there are so many houses that still have bathroom carpet around here.
It's rather alarming.

That's a shame when stuff like that goes on. I was in one place, from day to day you never knew if you were good or not. I had the best review I had ever gotten at a company where I worked for 10 years. Got a great raise, it was very, very good. And guess what, they started layoffs in construction because of the economy and I was the first one that was going to be let go because my coworkers didn't like me. I had a job normally men had, had historically. It gave me freedom to come and go, I traveled, pretty much set my hours, and I was disliked for it, soooo. I could resign which I did, but I had another job before my notice I gave. That surprised the hell out of them. Later I heard over half the staff or more was let go, LOL, and I saw some of them later. They couldn't look me in the face. I don't think they found such good ones, karma is a bitch.
These coworkers were the kind that would invite all the other women to go out for lunch and march by my desk so I could see them. And yes, it really hurt my feelings, but I would not let it show. I didn't fit with the women or the men, thank God I was a tough old woman. They would laugh at us for buying old houses and working on them half the night, I didn't care. I was able to quit work later because we did that and they were still chugging away somewhere.
Keep looking it will work out.

wait, garlic is supposed to be a mosquito deterrent? 🤣🤣🤣 let me assure you, it is not, nor has it ever been. this child who breathes garlic has always been a mosquito magnet. They are also "supposed" to be least attracted to type A blood. I can testify that is not true. Correct. I'm as type A as they come. Mosquitos love me. I also eat tons of garlic.
