I dozed off downstairs last night, moving to bed around 1am. after spending most of the night tossing and turning to get comfy in the little space left to me by Punk, my alarm just scared me at 8. oops. I need to get moving, so they get moving. I neeed to leave the house by 1130 to get to my hair appointment and they are going to be home for a few hours. but first, I'm gonna play candy crush for 10min. 🤪

I heard Gwen once tell SIL chickens they were cute and it's too bad they taste so delicious. We drove past cows on the way to TX and I apologized for eating one of them soon. I did that while drving past Empire Dairy in Greeley CO. I was like "You. You and your 100+ eyeswabs I had to screen last week. You suck and Im going to enjoy eating you". DH asked me if I felt better. I said yes.😅

It's been a brutal work week, due to people at the top not actually knowing WTF my division does but going ahead and making sweeping changes anyway. I'm going to chill this weekend and take my dog shopping for her Christmas presents. She gets to pick them out. She loves to shop! How does that work? I’d love to be able to take my dogs shopping and let them choose what they want. How does your dog let you know what she wants? I’m asking because my dogs have been all over the place when I’ve taken them into pet stores lol. I definitely have to keep her on a short leash! And she has to explore every corner of the store. And socialize with whatever other dogs are there, and get petted by people. Honestly, if we walked out empty handed she would still be happy. When we finally get to the dog toys, I just get whichever one she shows the most interest in.

Didn't wake up till 9 and I'm still tired. Was going to a crafts show but changed my mind. Think DD will go to the city to pick up my jeans that came in and a copy of the carpet invoice and call it a day.
I couldn't get my computer to come on this morning and when I finally did said wrong password, and my phone had the cancelled credit card so I had a time getting them both going again. I'm still not sure what happened to this computer. Been having problems with it being super slow so thought it crashed. Anyway got it working again and will see how it goes. May have to buy another one
I'm thinking of taking a nap before I head to the city. Also will fix DD a cheeseburger and me a hamburger instead of buying food out.
I heard hubs talking to the cats,, he was taking trash out and loading it up from the bathrooms. He says, yeah boys, I know womans work and why am I having to do this. He was just going on and on with them trying to get a rise out of me. They said he could lift again so he is doing things like that again. But he decided not to go for Christmas, he said I'm just not ready yet. I feel bad but I can't change his mind and he is the one dealing with his issue so I'm sure he knows what he can handle. He said tell them he will be up in April. Like he said he will go up in April so will see them then.

Diving deep into garlic minutiae, the intensity of garlic in a dish depends in part on the size of the garlic pieces used. Crushed or finely minced deliver the most and whole cloves, the least. For instance, I used thin slices in my shrimp Scampi so the garlic is present but not the top note. My curries generally use crushed or minced.

Set up the Christmas tree last night while watching college football. Set up a bunch of indoor Christmas decorations this morning. Am getting my roots done right now. Miss Grandbaby will come over for lunch. DH and I are going to a pianist Christmas concert tonight.

Trying to figure out if my advent calendar for DDIL was a hit or a miss. Every year I send advent calendars to my family in Germany. It started out with just the littles but has evolved to include DS2 and DDIL. So this year I got DDIL one that has small (50 pcs) jigsaw puzzles for each day which form into one large puzzle by the 24th. I just received a photo of tbe little guys sitting at the table putting the first two days together. DDIL has not had a chance to touch it.
So now the question is hit or bust? She may not have a chance to do any of these puzzles - my thinking was a cool relaxing short no-brainer thing like the crossword puzzles I used to do in the morning -> bust. Or... when the kids do the puzzles she gets enough time to drink a cup of coffee in peace and quiet -> hit.
My two local littles (twins of a very good single mom friend) have started and those went over well. Mom just has to deal with the little girl getting a slime present daily (I did ask if mom was ok with that before buying). Now all tbe littles can count down to Xmas.

It has been quite a few years since I was in Paris but I swear the French must eat it like that for breakfast based on how the metro smelled in the morning

DH and I have gotten out the Christmas tree and other decorations. He set up the tree but doesn’t have the lights working yet so I can’t decorate it. I started putting out my Dept. 56 village houses too. We have way too much Christmas stuff!

This probably sounds weird, but I'm making more than one meatloaf today to put in the freezer. The closer we get to Christmas, the more rushed we get, so it's nice just to have something to pull from the freezer so we're not living on fast food.

They had an appetizer of garlic slow roasted in olive oil, that you spread on a fresh baguette. It was sooooooo good, but you smelled like garlic for days! Strange thing though…….i make toum (which is garlic, oil and lemon juice) and it doesn’t come out near the same way. The difference between cooked and raw?

It sounds simple enough, but it's a fresh baguette slathered in fresh creamery butter and a thin slice of high-quality ham. People have tried to replicate it it in the US, but for some reason, it just can't be done.

are you using a share site, or just your basic Shutterfly account? I had a share site where the visible username was editable to my screen name here. just curious if I'd need to open another to do the same if I can't change what is visible from the basic account. I'm just using my shutterfly account. I don't think link shows my name? Maybe it's accessible...try and let me know. WOW just WOW. They are so pretty. Saw your other post about feathers on feet. I thought it looked like feathers on feet on one chick in this picture but I just shook my head and said NAH don't ask cause I'm a city girl and was imagining things!! Thanks for sharing the pictures

I am celebrating with a lemonade spritzer. Got home from buying a good bourbon for our auto mechanic, a stop at the bookstore and the local Italian gourmet shop. Found my new medical insurance card (new company) and a refund check from my appeal case against my former insurer that I filed back in September.

Thanks for sharing the pictures They're not as prominent in hens as they are in roos and it's hard to see them from the angle of that picture, but they all have them. Even the Easter Egger has them because she's half Brahma. My red hen has the most. She's by the tire in that previous pic, but leaning over. This is her showing them better.

Just so you all know some wet stuff is falling out of the sky here right now. Not really enough to call it rain but wet nonetheless.

Was Elmer one of the fancy feet crowd? I don't think he had much. He could have been as little as 25% Brahma (hard to be certain the bloodline when you incubate eggs from multiple hens together).

We are lice free now. I had ONE louse when she checked so went ahead with treating my head too so we didn't end up having to go back to her in three weeks because now my head is infested. Stupid lice. This lady is worth every penny. Went to the holiday craft show. Picked up a dress for Abby's American Girl doll. It's pink with Stitch and Angel on it she's going to love it. Got SIL (DH's actual sister) a couple of chicken related items that I thought were too good to pass up. Got DH a new hat that says "Girl Dad" on embossed on leather. I like walking around and looking at stuff like what my grandma used to make. I avoided buying any of I reminded myself I am buried alive in that stuff here at home already. Now onto grocery shopping. Tomorrow I am going with Gwen to see Circus de Solei I got tickets through work. May not have time to visit grandma. DH has to go watch his dad for awhile so SIL can get stuff done and he's taking the kids. I suppose I can go on my own.

Maybe if you have sickly chicks next year, we can help sponsor them? I still remember your rooster perched on your vehicle's dashboard when you had to rehome him.

the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was get back in the car, but the pups had been cooped up 5h. so we took a scenic tour back to the old neighborhood where I picked up some deli stuff. now I'm waiting on my chicken Caesar salad from the Greek pizza place near my house. pups and I will all have dinner when we get home.
stick a fork in me, I'm done for today.

OR... you can spend time on your own self. Doesn't matter if you have plans for you time or not. If push comes to shove you can always verify that you still have ten toes by counting them a couple of times. My go-to would be a nice book with a cup of coffee or tea but whatever, just some time for you and you alone!
