Flights booked, it's a little more but TD will get to dive 3 extra days. Now that flights are booked, I can start looking at hotels.
I have limited patience with this stuff, which is why I could never be a travel agent. I can only look at so many flights or hotels and they start to run together, I get frustrated and choose nothing. That's where I am right now.

Reading the open enrollment guide for next year. They are adding a lot of weird benefits, like K-12 homework help and back up pet care. We have so many things like that now in addition to all these add on insurance plans I'd never bother to get and health incentive programs. I'm like, can we just up the 401K match to 6% from 4? I guess then they couldn't fill 44 slides with all our benefits like discount tickets to ValleyFair....
Yep - thankfully they increased our 401k match from 6 to 8% this year, but I feel you. We have so many unwanted things

No shit. My sister and I would not have been able to afford the week and a half we spend in S'pore if we hadn't been staying with my DS1. And it is only cool in the relative sense if the word. Every time I get if the plane there I go "oh yea, this is why I will not move to the tropics". Yeah, I know it's going to be very warm there. I think we will be there about the same time we were this year. It was the one city that our friends didn't spend off the ship and downtown as the cost was so high. I got the link for a hotel associated with the airport and when I convert the price from Singapore $$, it is pretty comparable to what you'd pay for any airport hotel...and includes dinner. Do they still have the hotel inside the airport with the huge buffet? Its been a while since I have been there.

I have to take notes when I start running through travel stuff. I will forget what I've already considered and start over. I finally found last year's notes on linen rentals at the beach and that saved me last month.
I'm trying to find a place for a post Christmas gathering on my dad's side. Looking at the map though, I think my dad's house might be the best bet. That or Pittsburgh and I don't think the Columbus ones would go for that. There's nothing where dad lives so that would be a one day thing. Which might be all anyone is interested in.

Or maybe just pay their employees more? Nah, that's too practical.

I still have a turkey breast in the freezer from last year that I never cooked. I am fairly sure it is still edible so I will cook that.
I wish you could have seen Penny today. One of the houses, which is across from the open space where dogs walk, poop, and run around, has a caregiver for a woman with Alzheimer's. The caregiver has a HUGE dog, sort of the size of a St. Bernard, who is nothing but an overgrown puppy. Her patient sits outside where the caregiver can see her while the dog gets his exercise. The dog's name is Chubby, which will give you some idea of his size. In contrast, Penny is a rather lean miniature pinscher mix at 12 pounds.
They love to play together! Penny crouches and pounces at him, tail just a wagging. Then it is Chubby's turn. Back and forth they go until they finally tangle their leashes and we have to make them stop.
It really is sweet and fun to watch. Penny starts pulling and whimpering when she sees him down there. If I only moved here for Penny, it would be worth it. Being only around me wasn't good for her.

What is back up pet care? Who is offering primary pet care? I'm assuming it's for people that normally take their pets to doggy daycare everyday and they back out or something. I don't know. It's also for daycare and elder care. 5 days max for each each year with a copay for each. I think pet care was $10 copay. I have no idea who is doing it because I can't access the actual care site before the benefits kick in January 1st. Maybe they'll just set aside a conference room for the dogs, toddlers and old people to hang out while you work.

My DS just cost me $1400. He hit another car in the school parking lot. Thank god the kid and the gramma (owner of the car) were cool about it. We were able to pay for the repairs and not get the insurance companies involved. Dude... Come on, man!

I really need to drive more. Today for the first time in (at least) 15 years the low tire pressure sensor turned on where I actually had low tire pressure. My Versa had a sensor malfunction early on 2008, 2009?) and the witches cauldron light stayed on until I had that sensor replaced but my tire pressure was always fine. So not knowing which gas station around here actually "has" air I called my garage to check my tires out. They checked and there was nothing wrong with them -just needed air. Grand charge of $0.00 Driving home I was wondering why this had happened and then it struck me: I drive so little that there are ~18 month between oil changes. And when they do those they always include all those little checks and make sure my tires have the right pressure. I'm thinking I might want to get my manual out to see where my windshield wiper fluid goes. They always top that off too so it may be getting low. But first I have to figure out how to pop the hood as this car does not have a button to do so - at !east not one I have seen. I am quite the mechanic aren't I

Some days it's hard to be me and really hard for DH to understand my life. He's always lived and worked in a very black and white world (not racially), no politics, follow the rules, everyone in step, follow set procedures all the way. For the last ten years I've lived in a 100% political world in the sense that you have to listen to everyone, weight their input, decide when, where, and how much you can compromise without sacrificing your personal integrity, and form alliances that advance both your agenda and theirs to the betterment of a common goal. This was another night of emails, texts and phone calls to craft a palatable solution that leaves everyone standing and no one under the bus.
And our presumptive 2024 VP did a major bad when she included the whole board of directors in an email that only involved the officers and me. She will only have a couple of chances at redemption before it gets fugly.

I think we will have a small ham for Thanksgiving. Maybe mashed potatoes, noodles, a green veggie, and of course a desert. I'm not cooking much, don't want days of leftovers. Or some mac and cheese or deviled eggs, DD loves them.
We are looking a little further out in Washington from sons. Finding houses for less, that's an expensive area. I found a couple I loved, both needed cosmetic things. Like new flooring, paint, and countertops. Think the old very bright orange of the 60's and a laundry room with avocado floorng, ugh. But the price was $275k, I loved it. Of course first time I saw it and it was pending, where do they hide those?? The other needed a bathroom redone. It had been lovely but tracks of fluids on the carpet and the remains of a chair lift on the stair. But like hubs said we could stay in either one or work from the modular we have but would have somewhere to put our furniture and his tools. Both on 1/2 acre which is enough hubs said and the taxes were reasonable. I know we have to be there and act quick if we get something like those. One sold for $100k less, likely to close an estate. But those are the only 2 like that I have seen that I liked and were in good condition otherwise. I think they come up rarely.
I get so tired of being patient with hubs until he is ready to do something, I'm going to die waiting. I have waited my life away, not too many more years left. And we have no idea really about his situation. I'm just trying to be patient and kind for him but unlike before where I felt good about his condition. Not so much more now.

I had issues like that at my last job. I've learned that some people just don't remember things well, but what drives me crazy is when training people like that they also NEVER take notes. 😡 Another co-worker dealt with a former employer like that. Let’s just say, he’s no longer employed here and it wasn’t his choice. I’ve written instructions on the process that are almost identical for each account. Today I was asked what to do with a type of schedule that she ran yesterday. It was like she had never seen it before. We’ll see how it goes… For those wondering, the person that I was talking about was let go today. Unfortunately, I wasn’t surprised. The person that did it said the let go person didn’t seem surprised. 🤷♀️ After I was told, I left work as I didn’t want to run into the let go person.

I woke up last night around midnight, and literally did not sleep at all after that. Because of Mister.
So I was very agitated this morning, and during the course of the day, got even more so. So because I’m in a mood, I’ve answered Mister’s questions about what’s bothering me, honestly. Not in a bitchy way, but honestly. And in return, I’ve asked some difficult questions myself, that I expected him to answer honestly. He tried to dance around the questions, but I’m not in a mood to play games with him, so I insisted on clear answers. He was still fumbling around, and I told him that I feel like he is playing with me, and told him why.
So now we are both unhappy and looking stupid for different reasons. I feel like I am literally fighting for my life in some ways, wrt to my mental and physical health, and being in survival mode means I need to know exactly who is on my team and who isn’t. Even if that means that the bottom line is that I’m all I got, like it has been for most of my adult life, that’s cool too, I’m just not willing to entertain pretenders.
All of the years that I was single, my motto was that I can do bad by myself. I can be unhappy by myself. I don’t need anybody to help me struggle and be unhappy. Even though, except for the worst years of my life, I was not struggling or unhappy. That was just my motto that kept me from getting mixed up in bad situations with men.
There is a lot of shit I could get into with what I do and have done with Mister and why I’ve done it, which isn’t all his fault, because I am ultimately responsible for my own life. Which is why there’s no point in getting into all of that. And that is why, even though I keep getting sidetracked in my sessions, I am in therapy for ME, not to try to fix shit with Mister. My therapist has suggested it, but I don’t want him to come to any of my appointments. I sought her help for me, not for us. I spent 20 years of my adult life knowing I was good without a partner, and being just fine with that. I got caught up with Mister, and obviously got confused, and I need to get back to where I was when I met him, or better.
I didn’t have all this shit on my mind last night, it was him and his sleep shenanigans that kept me awake all night. I already know I am likely to have monkey brain tonight because of all the shit that’s on my mind now, and it is likely that I will have another sleepless night because of it. I’ve tried to get it out by talking with him, and writing my thoughts down, They still persist. All I know to do with the tools I’ve learned, is all I can do. So if I am an angry bear tomorrow after yet another sleepless night, I’ll just be an angry bear. Fuck it.

That's why we took the latest shots apparently there are some variations going around. Hopefully those will protect us.
My Smokey must be cold, why I don't know. But he was lying on a furnace vent not long ago, really? It's not even winter yet, now he is laying across my feet on a blanket, poor kitty.
And Tigger doesn't want to go in his room tonight, he is running from me. I really think he has gone in with hubs looks like the door is open. He is my kitty but he really likes hubs too. But hubs doesn't want him in the bedroom.
You know Pink, I bet you and Mister would both sleep better if the dogs slept elsewhere. My last kitty slept with me and I didn't realize how she wore me out until after she passed. She did disturb my sleep every night. Sweet Smokey piles in bed with me early in the morning when hubs gets up and I'm always afraid I will roll on him, so I kind of wake up every time I move from than till I get up. It does disturb the rest of my sleep.

I’m going to bed early but I’m jumpy because I hear helicopters, little ones zooming by just barely over the trees, and jets too. This is not the time for commercial flights so the choppers and planes are likely law enforcement and military. Nothing on the news

DD1 had two days of symptoms. She was already getting better when she was positive. We'll see how DH does. I am OK.
I didn't get covid from DH the last time he had it, either. So weird. I am now scrambling for things to do with the missy, though.

You seem in a hurry to buy another place. Why not take some time and enjoy what you already have? It may be a while before your hubby is completely recovered and the added stress of selling, buying and moving may make it more difficult. You never know, he might decide he doesn't need so many tools and vehicles, after all.

I probably could have gone to bed around 7, but rallied and am now fully engrossed in RED. this is a solid movie! I'm hoping hay when I do finally crash, I'll be down for the night and maybe I can fix the nap/ insomnia bullshit ship. bc I'm beyond over it.
on tap for tomorrow is to sandblast the kitchen early and spend the warmer hours outside. we will hit the development for a quick leashed walk, and the back home to do more around the house, including a bunch more laundry than what I ran tonight that I'm downstairs. I'll do more food prep Sunday after the laundry is folded/rolled.

Pink - when I can't get situations or problems off my mind, I try to do what you have done by writing it down and talking it over. If that still doesn't work, I lay in bed and picture myself folding an imaginary piece of paper up and placing it at the top of my underwear drawer. I use it as a way of signalling to myself that I have done all I can for now and it's time to rest. Doing this can almost be meditative. The problem will be there waiting for me to pick it back up in the morning.
I have even summarized the situation/problem or written the name of the person on paper, physically folded the paper up small and actually placed it in my drawer.
Every time I find myself worrying I remind myself that the problem safely nestled amongst my bras and panties. That makes me smile as I keep putting it back.
Question - is it possible for one of you two to sleep in another room for now? I'm pretty sure I add new meaning to the term, "Bitch-On-Wheels" when I don't sleep.
Sending hugs and prayers.

It does disturb the rest of my sleep. Boy and Mister both would be inconsolable if they didn’t at least sleep in the same room. Their preferences are sleeping in the same bed. I am the bad guy because I don’t like him sleeping on my bed. When Mister sleeps in another bedroom, Boy sleeps on the bed with him. He doesn’t mind as much as I do, that Boy makes his way up to sleeping on the same pillow, or how having Boy in the bed period, causes more times waking up. Because Mister can go right back to sleep after something wakes him up, and I usually can’t. I have loved dogs since I was a young child, so I am willing to deal with the fact that I am allergic to them now, to my detriment. So I am willing to let them sleep in my bedroom, just not on my bed. But in my mind, that requires regular and consistent housekeeping, to at least limit unnecessary exposure in my bedroom. And at this very moment, in my bedroom, there are 2 dog beds that Mister promised to wash a couple weeks ago, and assorted sheets and other things he covers them with at night, plus the comforter Boy tore up, that is now on the floor because they like laying on it, and besides it being unappealing aesthetically (which matters to me and I don’t care if anyone judges me for it), all of it is dirty and I’m sure has dander and whatnot on it, that I am allergic to, and needs washing. But when I drag all of it out to the hallway so I can dust and clean my bedroom, just so my bedroom is clean, and also because of my allergies, it’s going to be a fight when Mister wants to bring it all back in the bedroom, without washing or cleaning any of it, or the dogs. And in addition to that, I still have to fight about at least keeping Boy off my bed, in addition to all of the other stuff. It’s not just me being a bitch, or even just having preferences, since I’ve always been honest about how I’ve never liked dogs in my furniture. I have a sofa in my den that I do not use, because the dogs lay on it, and I’ve given up on that battle and let Mister and the dogs have that sofa. But the shit in my bedroom, is a matter that literally has to do with my health. I started testing positive for a million allergies when I was 4yo, but until about 10 years ago, tests never showed that I was allergic to dogs. Now I am allergic to them. My last dog, my Standard Poodle, died around the same time that I learned that I had become allergic to dogs. I did not live with another dog until I moved here. And dogs in the bedroom did not really become an issue until we got Boy. I apologize for going off on a rant.

you're totally fine. I love my pups, love snuggling with them. I hate rolling around in the dirt their paws inevitably bring to my bed. and if either or both of them have been on my bed, I've been know to wash my sheets 3x in a week. if that's your boundary, that's your boundary. don't apologize for it.
