I like that condo Mitch and a decent price. You are right the prices there are crazy high. We go back and forth about buying a different place up there later after we sell here or just living in it. It just doesn't fit our needs. We can probably add a shed and expand the storage building but still wouldn't own the land. And I hate to admit it I think we are both a little bit of snobs anymore. It's very clean, but modulars and trailers. Yes, they are fixed up nicely and the place is super clean, but, its still a trailer. We have plenty of time to decide. yet. I got into the patient portal at the hospital complex where hubs is going. I read through the reports and it stated the cancer has not metatasized, and is not in his lymph nodes or glands so that makes me feel so much better. Why haven't they told us this? He does have an appointment with the surgeon Friday so maybe he will. Still its cancer and says it has more on his left side than the right in the tumor I suppose. I'm just hoping it has been caught early enough. He has some elevated labs but nothing crazy high. And as we know his blood type is O and the other stuff is negative. Son called tonight and he was relieved. Also he said tomorrow he has a full physical scheduled, I'm glad he is doing this, he needs to. His dad asked him if he had orders to go to the Middle East yet, and he said no nothing yet. If he did likely Israel or maybe on one of the ships. We are just hoping he doesn't have to go there, but you never know. Likely some of them well, and I think the units he is with would go there. I'm heading for bed early again tonight. I'm just worn out and why I don't know. Hopefully not coming down with anything. I suspect his appointment was his pre op appointment where they take bloods, do cross matching and check you out for surgery. They also give you instructions on what you do up to surgery, what to expect, what drugs to take/not take I do not EVER remember seeing a doctor for this appointment, this was done by a nurse. A nurse would not discuss results like this with you, this is the doctor’s responsibility to tell you this and put forth the game plan for treatment.

DH likes to buy exactly what he wants from grocery store for the current day. He also drives me crazy criss crossing the store as items pop in his head. Dude go aisle by aisle like a sane person. When I take TD with me to Costco, I can pretty much guarantee that the bill will be higher. He definitely has hoarding tendencies and will frequently buy extras. If I say I need 2 packages of tomatoes, he will put 4 in the cart. My biggest gripe is that I wan5 suggestions for dinner but his response is ‘whatever I make is fine’. Yeah, I know….but I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING NEW, GIVE ME IDEAS! Yes, I’m yelling about this! It annoys me that much!

We also set up the patient portal at the local hospital. Hubs had a ton of blood work done this morning. The results are already available, so looked through those. He had some high values in a few areas but nothing that was to far out of the norms. However, since July his PSA had gone up .10, small. But the norm is 1 to 4 and in 2021 his was 3.4 and now is 11.7, to me says more cancer involvement since July was 11.6 and Sept was 11.7.
We finally decided the doc didn't miss him in 2022 that was when everything was shut down because of covid.
I like being able to see that, of course I realize I could misinterpret some results as I have to look up a lot of meanings of words and sentences. But I can understand a lot of it.
I intended to get up and cut down the hostas by the house and clean that up and wash down the front porch and clean my windows. Not today, its been raining and is 57, so not a good day to be cleaning in landscaping. I need to check the weather and see if its going to warm up a bit so I can do that and the back porch too.

I usually write the grocery list Sunday or Monday and we go shopping Monday after work. I always ask for ideas or confirmation that what I'm thinking about sounds good. I always get "I don't know on Sunday what I want to eat on Wednesday." Well get used to it, dude, it's been 16 years.

Weltz, I'm not sure I can explain sons position. In the US a lot of duties for the military is now done by civilians and those civilians are in the DOD group and there are even a lot more that are contractors for the DOD and he works with them too. He works with national guard units and other units on computer set ups, new equipment related to computer implementation, and probably other things I'm not aware of. One year it required him to go on a 6 month deployment in the middle east, seems like about 3 years ago, don't remember for sure. There are 5 guys that have his same position in the US, the country is divided up and each one is over certain areas. His includes Hawaii and Korea, so the middle east too. I don't remember if he was in NY or in Washington when he deployed there. His office is on a military base even though he also works out of his home several days a week. So no, he is no longer active duty, but yes he is attached to the military if that makes sense. If he goes in an area where there are active duty people he wears a uniform like them, but it has a different designation on the front. His "rank" would be equal to a major or such I think he said. The only people that are knowledgeable enough to do these jobs are former military, its really a narrow type of experience needed and far as I know, noone but exmilitary have these jobs. And yes he has a lot of communication with active duty officers in his work. And I can't remember if he is furnished with a sidearm or not, we don't talk about a lot of stuff he does, he can't. So what I know is mostly superficial. He came close to deploying quite a few times when in NY, but ended up not having to go. I said aren't you getting kind of old. He said there are 70 year old guys there as long as they pass their physicals. Maybe that explains it a little better.

Dude, this is your lane, you figure it out. I'll try to think of things we haven't had for a while, since that's usually when i cook. And I'll request any ingredients for my lunches. That's as far as it goes.
We're stretched too thin for both of us to be half responsible for everything. That's how things will fall through the cracks and frankly less will get done.

Hubs goes to the grocery for me, sometimes. He will be in town a lot of days when I don't go anywhere so he will pick up what we need and sometimes some snacks he wants. He knows what groceries cost and he knows I have quit buying a lot of junk food. We keep things for snacks like raisons, nuts, and fresh fruit. Sometimes we get chips and such but used to be every trip, no longer, costs to much. Plus we just don't need it.
We do stock up on meat from Odon, its the best and the best price also. But hubs needs to get a loyalty card to use as they do have good sales on things.
have to go, have a big tiger cat on my lap.

Just finished roasting some garlic, which I was missing in my makeshift dinner last night, and the house smells heavenly! So much so that DH has volunteered to cook tonight - the menu spaghetti, with Italian bread like I had doctored up for dipping last night.
This is how much he knows about groceries and what is in the house, and pays attention - he was looking for jarred sauce. I occasionally have a jar in the back of the cabinet for something quick, but for the last 10 years 99.9% of the time I make my own from canned crushed or pureed tomatoes, home grown herbs, and dried tomato powder. You'd think he would have known this by now?
So, I will be making the sauce.

Probably not significantly different. I wouldn5 assume more cancer. Ummm……..in 2022, everything was pretty much back to normal from Covid. 2020/2021 yes…..but by last year pretty much everything was open.

I'm probably jinxing it. We're on the road to good things happening in 3s. Course I don't remember what the second thing was. So maybe it wasn't as big as I thought.

Very rarely do I get ideas from DH. I also get the whatever you want to cook.
I got a menu plan white board for cheap that we use now. So he can see what the plan is. I try to do it on Sunday taking into account our schedule, the weather, etc.
Grocery shopping happens whenever I can squeeze it in. Sam's Club runs are usually on my Friday off when DH is working. I used to make him go before covid over the weekend but that's just unpleasant. I'd rather knock it out myself with fewer people around.

Dirty Harriet has now been cleaned inside and out. The weather is gorgeous this morning (expected to go up to the mid 90s later today) so I soaked up some sun while watching others clean Dirty Harriet

I finally found that cup of ambition and filled out the stupid forms to get partial reimbursement for our eye exams and glasses. I don't know why I put it off - I just had a mental block against doing it which is really stupid. It only took 15 minutes but it does mean a trip to the FedEx store for copies before mailing. I absolutely HATE standing in line waiting for a copy machine - almost as much as I hate forms I can't fill out online and print. First world problems, for sure There’s lots of other places to make copies such as Staples, Office Depot and the library. There’s usually no line at the library.

Pink Cashmere The Wallflower plug thing and the missing kitchen stuff would definitely get on my last nerve. Stuff bought for the house should stay in the house, unless by mutual agreement. Yeah, that kind of thing has always driven me crazy, for stuff to just sprout legs and disappear. I’ve already replaced our everyday glasses twice since we’ve moved here. Now it’s also bowls and other stuff missing. And not just kitchen towels, but towels from our bathroom. I’m also tired of replacing towels. I’m just tired of stuff going missing, period, all over the house. You should tag things that can be tagged with - stolen from pinks house, please return

If he's taking food in it and leaving it, it has to be pretty ripe in there.

I'm at either Stop & Shop or Walmart (mine has full grocery) every few days just based on how much fresh produce the three of us go through in my house. I've adopted an expensive habit of buying a sushi roll if I'm running through S&S as a small lunch/snack, as I do these runs midday over lunch hour-ish. I do need to get better about planning stuff out farther out than a couple days at a time, though. it's good that the pups aren't terribly picky, because they end up reaping the benefits of my undecidedness a lot of the time. lol... I will say, I'm pretty good about stocking up non-perishables when they go on sale, unless it's an "oh, shit! I need X for this recipe I'm already cooking, and I don't have any." which turns into a quick S&S run at full price.

Weltz, he has insurance available that other government employees have available far as I know.
I am just happy he is getting a total physical today, he is 54, still smokes, and I think he needs it. Hope they really do a good one, I worry about him.

Made my first ever visit to Costco today to get my Novavax vaccine.
It's over 60 miles from my house.
After being inside of a Costco, I seriously doubt if I will go there again. The parking garage was the size of a football field. Way too many people in the building at 11 AM on a Thursday morning. Self check out. No thanks.
The pharmacy was quite efficient. The appointment making process had all kinds of paperwork about insurance and Medicare but the confirmation email said to bring the cards so I did.
Everything was already in their computer and had no co-pay. She said people have been driving from all over the state to get Novavax.
Some guy came in to get a printout of all of his meds for Medicare Part D. Told him he could do that at home. No, he didn't want to and he wanted the printout right then. Clerk said they were very short handed due to people being out with colds so no can do a printout now. Guy says email it to me. Clerks says we don't email this when you can look it up in your account. So guy is going to go back in a few days for his printout.
I spent way longer going to and from my car than I did actually getting my vaccine.

I have the rest of the week off. I slept in until 9:30, ran some errands including getting gas for the tractor, came home to mow and it started raining, so I guess that's not happening. I might take a stab at decluttering massive amounts of paperwork.

Finally filled out my expense report for my trip last week. I need to set myself up in the resident portal here at the new place so I can pay rent next week. I also need to finish my change of address. With the post office. Did you know they charge you for that. What?!

I do have to buy the occasional I need this for dinner tonight item at Safeway at full price. Last night wouldn't have been full price if DH had put my phone number in. I even told him before I left.
There's definitely a veggie/sale run usually weekly. Depending there might also be Walmart or Sam's Club run.
I try to plan but that takes effort and sometimes I'm over it haha.

I just set up my OOO message to turn on at 5pm, til Tuesday at 6am. I already feel a little more mentally lighter, even knowing that the weekend weather is not going to be conducive to being outside much. today's the pick of the week, and we've been outside since about 10am.
tomorrow, as long as Home Depot has a truck I can rent, I'll be meeting my parents to pick up that shiny new snowblower and bring it home. I tried to reserve a truck last weekend and was told that wasn't an option, it was first come, first serve. so, I'm heading over first thing tomorrow and if I can't rent one, I'll have Mom rent one from any of the three locations near them. we're all doing and up-and-back day, whether the rental starts south or north.
I also booked LD's surgical follow-up appointment. the lady that answered the phone was like, let me check when 10w is and I said 10/29. it's been circled on my calendar since he got his staples out, b/c I gave up on trying to tie down Captain Invincible after that. she laughed, we're good. so I'll drop him off without breakfast, he'll get sedated for some x-rays, and Punk and I are going to hang out in Boston for the day since we'll be halfway there already. here's hoping for a sunny day that day!

I am so tired today. Tired enough that I took my contacts out and out my glasses for the rest of my travel. I never do that in the middle of the day! I’m legally blind without one or the other. also I’m in the lounge at my airport having a glass of wine before my next flight. And I had a video meeting with my boss and colleague. I almost drank my wine on camera It’s only 3:45 here, so definitely on the clock still, even if it’s a travel day. Oops

"travel day" starts when I get to the airport. if I have time to log in and do stuff, I will, just because it makes my job easier in the long run. if I don't have time, or a reliable connection, I don't. and the world still spins, and shit gets done when it gets done. I don't now, nor have I ever, flown well. I remember being completely freaked out on my first flight ever on the 8th grade trip to DC. next flights were to MIA in college once, and then work travel started in 2002 at age 23. I still need alcohol or Xanax to quietly board a plane. at 45 now, I don't think this will ever change.

Back at the condo. Got in last night.
I was looking at the bank and realized that the Premiere Savings account was charging me $25/mo. for the last 2 months. I am fairly sure it's because I was below the minimum. So that account got closed and moved to my regular account.
Since where I am moving to has several different banks and cu's I might just open a savings account, so I have easier access to cash for things. The new area is a mix between paying cash/check or having a extra 3% added to your bill to cover the CC fees. I can get cash at the grocery store, but they charge a fee, and I just am not in the mood to have to pay $1 to get $40.
While I was at the shore house, I cut some tree limbs down that were pretty much hitting the ground. I also pulled weeds for about 2 hours. I was surprised twice by deer that walked up behind me and crossed the road. I was in front of the house and the way they were walking they must have been coming up the really narrow side to startle me. I could see the side lawn really well and they had not come out that way.
I also managed to break down a lot of huge boxes and stuff my trunk completely full. I went ahead and emptied it at the waste station recycling center earlier today.
Got the news that my 401K rollover was successful.
