I need to figure out dinner tonight and am absolutely clueless. It poured the better part of the night and is still rainy and gloomy out.
Hmmm…..think I have it! TD still has pie dough in the fridge from baking pies. I’m thinking chicken pot pies sound good for tonight. I bought a multi pack of boneless chicken thighs from Costco, so need to pull those out.
We took my car up to Canada last night. I’m surprised the idiot light didn’t come on on the way home, I’m on fumes and Costco was closed when we passed the gas bar last night. I’ll stop on the way home from lunch today.

A couple weeks ago, when DS and I were walking on the trail I use to ride my bike on, at the same time I was thinking “I smell weed”, DS said “it’s a skunk somewhere”. I said really, that smells like that strong, funky weed I smell on young folks sometimes. DS laughed and said that’s why they call it skunk.
I’ve always heard people talk about the skunk smell, but I’d never actually smelled it myself.
So a couple days ago, Mrs. T told me there’s a skunk somewhere in the brush behind our houses. She said she’d been hearing it, and didn’t know what it was, then she smelled it, and went to Google to hear what they sound like and that’s what she had been hearing. She Googled it again to let me hear what they sound like. If I’ve heard it, I probably thought it was a bird or something.
If not for those 2 recent conversations, this morning I would’ve sworn YD had been smoking weed in our garage. About 20 minutes after I saw on the cameras that she had left, I was walking to the front of the house, and I got a faint whiff of something that smelled like weed to me, but it didn’t really register. Then I opened the door to the garage and WHOA, the garage was soooo FUNKY, and it was that smell. I let the door up and walked out in the driveway, and didn’t smell anything. I left the door up to let the garage air out, and stayed out there for a while, since the door was up.
I am so glad DS told me what we were smelling on the trail that day, and that Mrs. T just told me Sunday that there’s a skunk over here. The last thing I need would’ve been to falsely accuse YD of smoking weed in our garage, a statement vs a question
The only thing now, is that she left through the garage, and if it really was a skunk, and she doesn’t know what they smell like, she probably thinks I was smoking weed in the garage, since we were the only 2 at the house.
For the record, I don’t smoke weed.

Stomach called down after a while, but no appetite. I can afford to miss a couple of meals anyway. 🤣 Glad you are feeling better.

Last night was…..interesting. There were 6 kids under 3 years old at the in laws Thanksgiving, including one that was not quite a month old yet. Last time I saw all these rug rats, most of them were in carriers! OMG! The noise they made! Yup.
The six of us can get mighty loud. I'm forgetting to dial it back and I'm noticing that I am loud when I don't need to be.

I think its kinder not to remind her DQ. Unhappy. Just got both dryers taken by one of the residents who apparently decided to run several loads late. She's paid for more than 45 minutes, until about close, and I only need 20 minutes of the dryer for the fleece before I hang it. Wish I had started earlier, but she might have chosen to screw me over earlier anyway since she is closer to the laundry room than I am. ETA - The heavy duty cycle runs longer than most laundry loads, so she was able to start her laundry after I left and beat me to the dryer. That cycle is about 45 minutes and a regular cycle is more like 30. If you are JUST doing the fleece could you possibly use a blow dryer and get it dry that way? I know that my mom would actually open the oven door and have clothing warming with the oven on low. Is that a possibility for you? These are just crunch time measures not all the time ideas.

daisylu, something might be going around, I feel the same and for no reason that I know of. It just hit me about an hour ago so not sure why? At first felt like indigestion, but now it’s worse and feeling like I too am going to upchuck. But I'm hoping I can burp more, that is painful, otherwise stuff may come up. That is weird, because Sunday morning Mister cooked sausage, eggs and biscuits, and after I ate, I felt like I was going to throw up. Literally gagging. Yesterday morning after I ate, the same thing happened. So I wondered if now I have an issue with eggs, since that was the only thing that was the same both mornings. I didn’t have indigestion first though.

I thought it was indigestion at first too. Might be anxiety. That's one of my signs. Took me years to recognize it. I always thought I had a weak stomach. You've been under a lot of stress lately. Oh dear!

Pink Cashmere Yeah, skunks have that smell even when they're not trying. A few years ago they demolished the pool in the park about two blocks from my house. A huge skunk showed up and stayed in my yard and I'm assuming he lived in the park. Anyway, he went under my shed during the day and came out at night. He was pretty gentle. He ate a bunch of bugs, then he discovered the mulberry tree on the property line that drops a lot of fruit. He happily ate that too. After all the destruction and construction was done, he went back wherever he came from. However, he still comes to visit from time to time, and stays for about a week when the mulberries drop. I feel like we should name him.

Hugs, chocolate or booze to those that need it. Encouragement to others also needing a boost.
It's raining here and I should be doing something for my move but I'm not motivated enough.
I hopped onto Azn to check sale items and I have ordered things to deliver at the shore house next week! Happy that I am not schlepping those items there.

I feel like we should name him. Not necessarily. I used to feed skunks at my old place...they had no smell. I had one wander into my house for an hour....no smell. He was adorable. He explored the house, ate the the cat food in the kitchen, ate an estrogen pill on my coffee table, rummaged in my purse and stole a roll a cherry Lifesavers before he waddled out. SO cute. But like I said...no smell at all. All the animals gave the skunks a wide berth when they showed up to feed, except my big white cat. They would eat out of the same bowl together. The skunks didn't feel threatened by him. Or me. Evidently, they don't LIKE to spray and will hammer the ground with their front paws first as a warning to back off.

Apparently the gas X pill helped. I've been burping and feel better now, it went away. But that is odd, I have gas issues but they don't normally cause me to feel like that.

I saw a bathroom vanity and quartz top for sale on FB Marketplace. It's about an hour away and I don't have a vehicle to transport it.
Before I decided to go see it, I wanted to make sure I had transportation arranged, and talked to a small-item mover here that I've used to deliver furniture I've bought at estate sales and bulky items from the big box stores. He was game.
I drove to see the bathroom vanity and was just about to go for it when I decided to check both the sides for flaws. It was advertised as new and in my questions I was told "there are no flaws." Well, one side was unfinished and the quartz was cut flush with the vanity (no overhang) and not finished on that side. Plainly meant to be installed against a wall, which doesn't work for me.
The person who advertised it said she should probably fix the description. Good idea.
I quickly canceled the mover. But it was a lovely day to drive through the Amish community.

Well fuck. DH finally took his car to get estimated after the hit and run and the guy thinks it's going to be too much damage compared to value and State Farm will want to junk it. If that is the case I want Dh to withdraw his claim. The car is drivable and we're SO CLOSE to have it paid off.
There is no way we're going to find another car for $14k. I am fine with his car having cosmetic damage, the worst thing about it all is the window doesn't roll down. We can put the money from his payment that ends in June towards getting it fixed OOP if he wants.
I'm a tad mad at him for not filing a police report. If he had since it is a hit and run and quite likely uninsured the state has a fund that pays for that damage then goes after the other driver. No need to go through your insurance.
But he "forgot" and when prompted about it argued with me that there was "no point" in doing so because it was a hit and run. It's now months after the fact because he dawdled getting a claim in so too late likely to file a report. It's one of those times I wish I was married to an adult.
We *might* get lucky with the over inflated car prices that his car will just skirt whatever percentage they use and they'll fix it. We'll see.

Then the adults got a chance to talk. This is why I can't stay with DN1 and NIL when I go to Toronto. They have fixed their place so the Toddler's bedroom can be a guest room and he sleeps in their room. However the kid never shuts up when he is awake and I can't deal with it. He also wants the adults engaged with him. I need some "me" space and that isn't going to happen.

I'm back! The move was one obstacle after another! I'm shocked I pulled it off. I have movers coming today to get the heavy stuff that I wasn't even trying to moved. I'm way too old to try and haul appliances up stairs at this point. Did I miss anything good? Y'all want to see the raid video now that I don't live at the address they're announcing in it?Yes please. I sent it to chiver to post since I don't know how.

Then take it to a body shop that is not a dealership and get a cash quote. Have them fix as much as possible for what SF gives you and call it a day. Or you can just not fix it and keep the cash.

T2 revealed the other day that she hasn't had an oil change in about 20K miles. What?! I didn't know you could do that without your car locking up. I told her we're getting it changed today. She said she didn't do it because she didn’t have the money. So to save $100 you're going to lock up the engine in a $20K car?! No way! I'll pay for the oil change.
Well joke's on me. This oil change is going to cost me $1K. She needs new control arms (whatever that is) all new tires, and an alignment in addition to said oil change. She said just have them change the oil and she'll do the other stuff later. No way! I'm not going to let you roll around in a car that's unsafe. Her failing to do proper maintenance is exactly why her vehicles are always messed up. I leave for Texas in the morning, I guess I'll just leave my debit card with my dad to pay the bill. Why did I have children?!

It's unlikely to lock up unless it's burning/leaking oil and you go so long that you actually run it dry. Then you're screwed. Going 20K she probably has some tarry black oil by now which can wear your engine out faster though.

I bought a turkey. It will take a few days to thaw out on the balcony. I'll give half to Simon and Melody, and some to my upstairs neighbour, who gave me that gorgeous bouquet of roses, magnolias and gardenias. It's still thriving and beautiful.

I have never even seen a skunk IRL lol. I thought they only sprayed or whatever causes that smell, when they feel threatened? Carrot and I were just commenting on skunks last night. I'm not sure if they're just moving more now getting ready for winter, but they have been getting hit like crazy lately, there are three on the road between my house and work now and they REALLY stink when they've been hit by a car and it gets sucked into the ventilation system and keeps the car stinking for long after.
But, yeah, they have a musky odor all the time, but it's a lot more subtle if they haven't sprayed. It's not hard to tell if a skunk was hanging out in my barn the night before when I go out to do chores, but if they spray (like one did this spring at the barn cat), the smell is so bad you can practically taste it and it makes your eyes water.
Well now, I don’t know what to think. The smell was not subtle at all. It was strong enough that there was a whiff of it in the house. Which, I later thought might have got in the house when YD opened the door to go in the garage when she was leaving. But as strong as the smell was in the garage, I couldn’t practically taste it, nor did my eyes water. Maybe because I let the door up within a few seconds? Or because the skunk wasn’t actually in the garage, but close to it, and the smell seeped inside? Idk. But if it can be even worse than the garage was, I’d really rather not ever experience that. All I know is, it smelled just like what I’ve smelled on young people when they’ve come in a convenience store and I didn’t even have to be close to them to smell it. And I’ve smelled it coming out of vehicles, when someone inside the vehicle was smoking. But it also smelled like what DS said was a skunk a couple weeks ago. Anyway, I’ve never seen any signs or smelled anything to indicate YD smokes weed. I did tell Mister about the terrible, strong smell in the garage and about all the recent skunk stuff, and how it all smells the same to me. Which is better than how just a few weeks ago, I wouldn’t have known any better than to just say the garage smelled like weed, end of story. If he wants to have a conversation about it with YD, just to be sure, that’s on him. I am going with skunk. The animal, not the weed lol. The T’s side yard is an unnatural green color, and when I went and looked at the events caught on the cameras on that side of the house this morning, I saw that people were over there spraying his yard this morning. And the guy that sprays the perimeter of our house for insects, was here this morning also. So maybe the activity upset the skunk or something. I’m not afraid of small animals with legs, but not too many, like I am insects, but I could really do without that smell. On another note, Sunday, a tiny lizard ran in the garage when I was outside with Kiddo. I wasn’t afraid of it, except for being wary because it moved so fast. As long as it kept its distance from me and didn’t make its way into the house, I was okay. I showed it to Kiddo, and he thought it was funny when I said the lizard was my friend because it wasn’t scary to me, and it ate bugs that do scare me. It clearly didn’t like the sound when Kiddo bounced the basketball when he was playing with the BB goal in the driveway, and eventually ran and hid. I saw where it ran to, and I never saw it come back out. As far as I know, its’s still in the garage somewhere. One thing for sure, it has plenty of places to hide in the junky garage. That’s fine if it’s still in the garage, as long as it doesn’t pop up out of nowhere and run up my leg or something when I’m out there, or make it’s way inside the house.

The last thing I need would’ve been to falsely accuse YD of smoking weed in our garage, a statement vs a question The only thing now, is that she left through the garage, and if it really was a skunk, and she doesn’t know what they smell like, she probably thinks I was smoking weed in the garage, since we were the only 2 at the house. For the record, I don’t smoke weed. Even if you did smoke, it's your house. You can do whatever you want in it. I know. I was just saying that I don’t. And even if I did, I wouldn’t do it around any of our children or where they could smell it. It’s not legal where I live (and I really do tend to follow the rules…. mostly 🙂). Besides setting an example for our children since it is illegal, even if it was legal here, there is still the conflict between state and federal government regarding it. I work for the federal government, and a condition of my employment is that I agree to submit to random drug testing. I don’t have an issue with responsible adults partaking. I’ve said over the years that some people I’ve known probably SHOULD smoke a blunt or something so they could chill TF out and not be so actively hateful all the time. As far as I understand, weed makes most people mellow (and slow even if they do manage to get riled up), and I’ll take that over a belligerent, angry person that has had too much to drink. I’m just saying why I don’t do it.

It's unlikely to lock up unless it's burning/leaking oil and you go so long that you actually run it dry. Then you're screwed. Going 20K she probably has some tarry black oil by now which can wear your engine out faster though. Thank God! This child is going to be the death of me. I swear she doesn't think.

On a brighter note, I just paid off everything I own and put several thousand in my savings account. Now to keep these kids away from it!

On a brighter note, I just paid off everything I own and put several thousand in my savings account. Now to keep these kids away from it! isn't that the most freeing feeling? I got stuck with daily limits on electronic payments, so it took me a few days to get everything out. I'm almost done with my WIRR balance now. I'm home now, going to figure out your video that's on my phone.
