So I filed a complaint with my manager about a toxic coworker. She follows everyone, and I mean everyone, in the lab around constantly bitching and will corner you if she can. We are getting to where several of us can't get our work done because she is so distracting. I hid in the bathroom on Monday wondering how long could I stay in there before someone became concerned for my health.
She has complained in front of our clients, fortunately the particular client she did it in front of us one of those scientists in his own head he wouldn't notice if a bomb went off, but if she complains around the wrong person that could mean serious problems for our lab. Plus I pointed out that since she is following ME around when doing it that could possibly get me in trouble too because they don't know I am not engaging. I'd like to hope I've built up enough goodwill but IDK. Then they know my face and my name, it may end up they complain about ME because I am already at the front of their thoughts vs her.
That is a big NOPE. I also told my manager I flat out refuse to train this person in my area. She doesn't listen, it's always someone else's fault and she won't cooperate. I do not want her within spitting distance of my job because I don't want to deal with the mess she makes when I return. That was noted.
I said she is practically stalking one coworker constantly bitching he doesn't let her know his schedule, emails him multiple times a day, watches his teams calendar like a hawk. She corners people about their job duties that have absolutely nothing to do with her. I've gotten into it with her because she wants me to do my job to suit her preferences and I said no.
She is also going to get in deep poopy because she left a passive aggressive note in the lab about her job duties and refusing to do them. I don't think she counted on the person who saw it saving it and showing my manager who then took a picture of it.
This coworker has always been this way but it has escalated in the last few weeks. I told my manager people are scared to come in and get coffee it's gotten to where people poke their head around the door and see if she is gone. It's gotten to where I know that's what they are doing and will call out she's gone for the day from my desk.
A CTJ taking is going to be had. I was warned she will not change they have had this talk before with her but it's gotten to where they are going to warn her it will continue to be escalated up the chain if she does not stop. They can't have her creating a toxic work enviroment or potentially mouthing off to the wrong people.
It's exhausting. I told my manager I hate doing this because it feels like gossip (which I know it's not) but someone has to say something and stand up for the lab. My other coworker she is harassing into insanity is too nice to do it so I'll do it. It's getting to where one of us are going to go off on her and while it would be extremely satisfying to do and/or watch that's not helpful or professional either.
And I don't care if she knows. If she comes at me like a bat out of hell I'll make another complaint and escalate to HR if I have to. It's better than being arrested for murder.

When it gets to the point that you have to hide from a coworker, that coworker needs to be dumped, dropped and kicked straight outta there ASAP. She sounds way past paranoid. This is genuine psychotic behavior, not necessarily set off by the work environment (could be a home issue that simply carries over) but that is no excuse. If she has a genuine break from reality at your workplace, there is no telling what could happen next. I've dealt with workplace violence, and it's not pretty.

I don't think she's paranoid. She's a deeply miserable person and wants everyone to know it and eventually get drug down with her. With a healthy dose of Martyr.
She's an emotional vampire that's the term I was looking for.
But yes it's escalated. Nobody knows why and management does not care why. It needs to stop yesterday.

It's storming here. I honestly cannot remember the last time it has done that and it is really nice hearing the rain come down (which is weird for me because most years I'm worried about flooding). I didn't get out of bed until 9 it was dark in the house.

Ok, its 11, getting ready to go to the house.
Seems like my robot sweeper wasn't doing as well. I changed 2 of the brushes that sweep around and cleaned it out with the new little brush I ordered. A big chunk of food fell out, hope that makes a difference. I did order the roller for it too and may put it in later. It looks like it is leaving some cat hair on the area rugs, not sure why.
Washing a small load of clothes, made up the bed, dressed, emptied waste baskets, and cleaned a couple of pans in the kitchen sink that were soaking. I hate to come home to a mess.
If I get my butt in gear over there shouldn't take long, but I need to rake outside around the 2 entrances also. Hubs is mowing today. The lawns all need it.
DD and I just ate yogurt today. I bought lunch meat so DD can make herself a sandwich. She likes doing that too.
I really am going to have to watch the weight issue. I'm up a pound already, and yes, I have eaten more. And last night just had to have some chocolate, I ate 1/3 of a bar and was it good. Love it frozen and crunchy. Everything I have read said you will regain the weight. I know my food intake was less as you don't have a big appetite and get full quickly, but I'm not eating that much more. I'm betting I will have to go back on it, but I'm going to give it a hard try of staying off. Really can't believe it is good for your body. But the first 2 weeks of being off bowel function good, now right back again to same old problem. I'm drinking tons of water, eating apples, and pears, sigh.

Well that was a shock, hubs said he should keep the trailer and build him a garage at his folks house, than he could stay here when he wants. I said you would rather stay here without your son, DD, grandson, me, and family than be with us? From the look on his face I'm not sure he realized how that sounds. He said well I like it here. I said why, there is noone here that we hardly know anymore and nothing else. Without the rentals to take care of I don't know what else he would do with himself. And if he got sick guess we would have to get him and take him there or I would have to come back to care for him.
I really don't understand him sometimes. Me, I want our little family together for what time we have left in this world. I'm sure he won't do that but expressing it makes me wonder. He was never that close to our son and I could never understand it. I attributed to the way his dad was but maybe I'm wrong. So I tried to love him enough for everyone, my folks loved him, but hubs folks just never seemed to that much. And yes, he noticed it, same with DD.
Oh well, for another day, got to get to work.

I had a toxic coworker recently. I never complained about her, but refused to engage at all. She was looking for allies against the "enemy" I suspect. Our work didn't overlap. She ended up in some sort of kerfuffle for something, I don't know what because our work doesn't overlap. She made all sorts of allegations against me and another coworker who also wouldn't engage in her crazy bullshit. We both wrote very calm responses to HR. I provided some additional data which they could verify, because the stupid person didn't think things all the way through before making her allegations. She resigned on the spot. Woohoo!

I know somewhere I'll be smited for even thinking this but I'm getting bored. Im also not sure about my driving restrictions. It isn't on my discharge instructions, but I don't think it's worth calling the on call doc about so I'll try to wait till Monday. No narcotics in your system. I never received any driving instructions following my hip replacements. I just drove when I felt I could comfortably move my foot from brake to accelerator, and had been off narcotics a few days.

I just got up and lost my glasses for a good 5 minutes. I moved them, thought they were on the table by the computer, nope. Did I put them inside my purse? Nope. I just could not find them. Walked away for a minute thinking maybe I placed them on the end of the bed? Nope. Walked back out and searched again pulling all the snacks I had inside a lunch tote, nope. Browsed around again and found them on top of my shoes that are right next to my purse and lunch tote.

I'm certainly not going to drive high. I'm not even taking advil or Tylenol. I took 2 add'l doses of oxy just in case on Thursday but except for immediately after surgery the pain has been very minimal. I was told not to drive for 2 weeks which is what I'm questioning since that isn't spelled out in my discharge instructions. I can sit up fine and move my feet comfortably fast and slow. I'll still wait until I can talk to the office since the discharge instructions have other contradictions. They say I can't lift more than 10 pounds for 6 weeks, but the doctor said 15 pounds and I plan on taking advantage of the extra 5 pounds.

I've been talked into getting a new stove. We were getting ready to take it apart and it is ugh. It's old I've had it since before Gwen was born. I looked into it and I can get a really nice one for $648 at Nebraska Furniture Mart. If we're hemmoraging money fixing the house I might as well get a stove I actually want to cook on.

My concern would be that if you are in an accident, and you were given post op instructions not to drive, the insurance company could come back and deny any payments. I do know that other countries it is far more stringent than what I have experienced, in some doctors have to sign off on ability to drive. I have never been told after any of my surgeries when I could resume driving. But if it’s in your post op instructions, it’s now a matter of record.

Just be sure you are not doing this to the detriment of your long term health. Also, should you get into a serious accident before those two weeks are up realize that you might be deemed at fault because you were told not to drive yet. In other words be aware of potential repercussions whatever you decide to do.

Guys....I'm not going to drive until or unless I get the ok from my doctor. I said that from the beginning. I'm wondering if I introduced the 2 weeks based on our convo and what a recent coworker went through. The fact that it isn't on the discharge instructions just makes me question it more.
The difference in amount I can lift - I'm still listening to my doctors instructions. Just pointing out that they are different. But the doctor knows me best and everything from the hospital is super generic which is why everything from the hospital says to follow your doctor's orders when they contradict each other.

We are definitely operating in the slow lane today. I got the downstairs bathroom cleaned and the usual halloween decorations up, emptied all the small garbage cans in the house, and cleared off a flat surface in our family room. I have to clean the pigs, then it's popcorn selling time with the missy and dress shopping with DD1. Not my most productive day, but it will have to do.

I am feeling, admittedly it is rather silly, proud of myself after getting out of total slug mode. I have told before how they painted the buildings in my condo complex while I was on vacation. I also moaned and groaned some about having to stay home two weeks ago because this needed to paint my front door so it needed to stay open for a few hours. What I did NOT mention was that in order to paint the buildings they power washed them (also while I gone) and that left my windows not just dirty but filthy! On the living/dining side of the house that is a solid glas wall. So after only (LOL) 3.5 weeks I washed those windows yesterday. I was going to have my cleaning lady do that but she had to cancel for this month so out came the bucket and the needed tools and I washed windows and I did it myself. Then, as if this Herculean effort was not enough for a week, I got up early this morning and schlepped some old electronics to the hazardous waste drop-off site. Someone please stop me before I actually start doing some serious work here

well, I renewed my car's registration, and I've gotten all of the clean towels rolled and stacked in the basket to get brought upstairs. I'm even washing some old sheets to drop at the MSPCA next time I'm down that way. haven't gotten much more done yet, but I think I'll throw on some clothes at the end of the movie that's currently on, and take the pups for a ride. LD's been sleeping all day, and Punk just keeps moving around where she happens to be napping. I found Varsity Blues in the TV guide, and while much of it has not aged very well at all, Jon Voight is still a complete asshole as the football coach.

Shit never breaks when it's convenient. Our gas range went right before Christmas 2020. It probably was a simple part but the thing was so old we opted to just replace. I started looking at cheapo ranges and then decided to say fuck it and get the appliance I'd be much happier with. I'm still very happy with it. Now when our dryer went, we had to work with the dimensions of our basement door. There aren't too many sub 29" wide dryers so that was an easy and relatively cheap purchase. Phew.

Someone please stop me before I actually start doing some serious work here I wish someone would clean my windows, screens, blinds and window sills. Ever since the bldg next to mine burned down 2 yrs ago, everything is constantly covered in soot. And filthy black, like I've never seen before. Living on the 3rd floor, it's not going to happen. I can't climb any more, safely. I'm impressed that you did yours, yourself!

The Apts I live in, come with washers and dryers in the units. I've been told, some units no longer have doors that close, to cover the area they're in, because they can't get the smaller size that fits in the space any more. UGH. I would HATE having everything exposed, like that. There's so little storage, that's one of the few places available to store things. Not attractive, even if kept neat.
