I missed all my boys (husband and three cats). I'm laying down in my bed that I also missed and I have a sleeping Dudley on my belly (cat, not husband).

My neighbor and her husband came to look at the house. Good news: they don't need financing. Bad news: it is more than what they "wanted to pay" for an investment house. Why doesn't that surprise me? They will get back to me tonight (I don't really believe that but maybe tomorrow) to either make me an offer or tell me to go ahead and list it. We will see. On one hand, what they might offer may be comparable to what I would actually net. Or it may not. It is a great house with a new roof, new hot water heat, freshly painted, LVP flooring, etc. But it might be too good for a rental home. I hate stuff like this, particularly when I have a shot at a house I really want, keeping Penny and me out of an apartment. But I don't think the seller will wait. Yuk. In this market if they pass, the house will sell in days. I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep cleaning and packing because it will sell in no time. I'm not sure about my area. We have a failing school system and other factors that make it harder to sell. Plus, this house was built in 1980--not historic enough to be interesting like MCM or modern enough either. It is a great house but not perfect. All that said, I have accepted the verbal (actually texted) offer they just made with the stipulation that I keep the refrigerator, washer, and dryer. I just spent $900 on the washer about a year ago. They may have been expecting those, but I can't spend a couple of thousand replacing them with the price they offer. Now to figure out other stuff. I just found out that I am the backup buyer, not really first in line. But the buyer has serious health problems and wants out, the realtor thinks. I hate complicated stuff!

From general observance and my personal experience, there is definitely a point of diminishing returns when a person is subjected to endless fault finding by those around them. A person who starts out trying to make changes and improvements only to receive continued complaints, will sometimes just quit making any effort at all.
Personally, I make a lot of accommodations, but when someone makes it obvious my best efforts aren't enough, I stop wasting my time on meeting their expectations

We went to one of our little mom & pop Chinese restaurants for lunch. Usually mom takes the orders and she knows I like stuff a little on the milder side. But she was still at the store buying fresh produce, so pop took the order and I forgot to say mild. I knew I was in trouble when I saw the color of the sauce, a luminous molten red, and all the little flecks of peppers. Two tall glasses of ice water and 6 Kleenex later, I can breathe better than I have in weeks.

I am bothered by the fact that all those laundry/dishwasher pods I use are contributing to the micro plastic pollution. I am now looking at laundry detergent sheets when I need to buy new detergent but I can't find how well those really work.
So questions for my virtual Village: has anyone tried these sheets? What brand did you use? And how well did they do the job?
Trying to find some reviews that I can trust v. the Amazon reviews which seem a bit iffy to me for this product (as in are the 1-star/5- star reviews true or "bought" by the seller or their competitors?)

I've wondered about the laundry detergent sheets too. I wonder how you adjust the amount of detergent for various size loads because my little undie load sure doesn't need as much as a queen bed sheet set etc.

Waiting for the kitchen floor to dry. Once I have that done, I'll move on to the dining room. Dinner will definitely be door dashed tonight. I'm thinking of getting something from my fave Vietnamese place. They have shrimp rolls that I love!

I'm also wondering if my kid knows how often I falsely accuse her of taking my stuff in my head only to find it later. I swore my kid took my charger that I bought. I just found it along with a sports bra that was missing.

I'm watching Yellowstone Marathon. H.has a back issue. I'm continuing with a knee issue. I did get an x-ray past Thursday. I have a digital therapy massager. I have looked up how to determine if it's a meniscus tear and doing exercises for it. Our GrGrD1 walks for her H.S. diploma tomorrow. We are in no condition to ride 3 hrs one way then 3 back. We canceled. Last weekend we did attend the reception for her. Tomorrow, we play golf using a cart. Surprise H. is golfing with me this year.

DD had the closing for her house in FL. Glad that all 3 of my kids are now homeowners.
DD and her family still have 2 more weeks in Hawaii. They moved out of base housing and are now in a hotel 2 blocks from Wikaki beach. Which is not a lot of fun with 2 small kids and a dog and cat. but they will make do. She is sending the dog to us on Tuesday.

The house is cleaner then it's been in ages. Patio is coming together.
Ds has a group of friends over. He never was a hugely social kid so it's fun to see him branch out. He's also a great little hall monitor. Peer pressure has very little impact on him. Any bad decisions he makes he'll be the mastermind on.

Super rich, greasy, that's a problem

Excellent! I've cut down on plastic usage by about 80%. I had to buy a bottle of water when I was feeling faint on the street and I felt SO guilty.

Fence Wars update. Neighbors #1 and #2 are having second screaming match of the day-lots of F-bombs flying. I got a call about the first one which apparently ended with Crazy telling Sane she was going to sue him, and then telling him he needed to use a string line to make sure the fence was straight. He assured her he would, and then told her where he planned to get the string. And that's how the fight started.

Stumbled upon an artsy furniture/estate sale store this morning.
It's new. They do not have any cut or carnival glass at this time.
Well well well do I have an opportunity for you guys!🤣
I got the contact information and will send pictures. Fingers crossed.
There is a Holly Hobby doll there I'm seriously considering. I had a HH quilt on my bedroom wall for years. Dang doll got me in the nostalgia feels.

Dang doll got me in the nostalgia feels. my mom crocheted afghans for the first 3 girl grandbabies (including me) on her side of the fam. all white "canvas" stitched on an afghan hook, surrounded by unique color mixes per kid, and then cross-stitched Holly Hobby on the "canvas" in the same color scheme as the border rows. I haven't see that thing since I can't even remember when. wow, thanks for the nostalgia hit!

I'm currently sitting outside. I've finished what I wanted to get done today, and have showered my stanky self. I've got the news streaming on my laptop, and I just finished dinner. I am very much looking forward to no longer having a TV in my dining room.
tomorrow is brunch with M and mooch, so I'll lose about half a day on the to-do list. tomorrow when I get back, I'll likely tackle the "remove all pollen from the house" line item on the list. lol...

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! and please keep us up to date - I need some entertainment/excitement on an otherwise quiet and lazy afternoon I try to keep it light and humorous, but it is challenging. We are an old community, houses built from 1956 to 1961 or so. In my area, we literally have 10 feet between our house walls, and now we have 30% renters and a very diverse ethnic population. Trust me, the only thing Venezuelans, Columbians, and Salvadorans share is language. And the established folks who came 10-20 years ago, legally or otherwise, aren't real fans of the FOTB crowd, even from their home country. I live on a block with folks ranging from late 90's to due in 4 months, across a spectrum of ethnicities and religious perspectives. My next door neighbor is Jewish, about 10 more houses down is a Sikh family.

Almost done with the downstairs of the hoarder house. Waiting on the living room to dry so I can move the couch back and do the rest of the floor. I'm pretty sure I smell bad at this point, so when I'm done I'm taking a shower which is freshly cleaned and ordering food. All I've had to eat today is a piece of banana bread and a cheese stick.
