What are Your Plans for Tonight?

I’m making hot wings and indulging in adult beverages. I might crank up some music and have a party. Mister can join me if he wants. If not, I know how to have a party all by myself lol. I use to do it all the time.

I got picky stuff for dinner.  We may or may not go out for a couple of hours.  DH isn't feeling so well right now, so our plans may get cancelled.  Otherwise we're going to the American Legion for an hour or so, then the VFW for an hour or so, then home no later than 9.  We have plenty of adult beverages at home if we're going to stay up.

Zip.  I was going to stay home all day but Big Lots sent me a coupon for 20% off everything and it was near the Wild Bird Store and I'm running out of seeds again.  I'm now well-stocked with protein bars and flavored coffee.

BF is working tonight and they're predicting that the snow will start and go into tomorrow so he won't be here.  (Hill going in and out of my neighborhood is impassable till it's been plowed.)  

Tomorrow I may treat myself by adding some shrimp to my usual veggie dinner.  Fortunately I never made a big deal out of New Year's Eve/Day although I remember my mother always made pork and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes on New Year's Day.  Must be a German/Ohio thing.

We're doing surf and turf at home and I'm making strawberry ice cream with my new ice cream maker. I'll probably watch fireworks on tv tonight, unless I can find a good movie.

We bake frozen apps - everyone has their favorites and will watch a couple of movies with all 4 of us in our king bed. It's 60 degrees here right now so trying to get everyone to go outside for a bit.

Otherwise, normal Saturday night. Maybe we might watch the new Boba Fett show.

I went out every New Year’s Eve until my early 30’s. “Out” as in to a house party, often at my Aunt’s house.

Then one year, I decided to stay home for whatever reason. My kids were maybe 10 and 12yo. I bought them some sparkling grape juice so we could toast at midnight, and cooked hot wings. We played loud music and DS tried to teach me how to dance lol.

I had so much fun having a “party” with them, that it became our New Year’s Eve tradition. Family and friends were welcome to stop by. The years I worked evenings, I usually had to work New Year’s Eve. I would get off work at 10:30pm and pickup hot wings for me and my kids on my way home instead of cooking them.

I just finished stirring up some chimichurri sauce.  DH is going to grill salmon and steaks. We have a nephew stopping by on a cross country trip.  Younger son is coming to see the nephew and DH just had a cousin call that she is in town.  Add one more, what the heck!  I have plenty of groceries, DH just needs to dash out for another piece of salmon.  I wasn't planning on this much company for dinner, but that's how it's turning out.

Tomorrow, we go to the Fiesta Bowl with some friends we haven't seen since before covid.

It's 3:30, and I'm about an hour from home. Despite doing 2 loads of laundry mid-trip I have a very large duffel bag full of dirty clothes. So, I'll be doing laundry tonight. MIL gave us an olive garden GC, so we'll use that for dinner takeout.
Probably work on cleaning the house, too. Fun times!

DH is feeling a bit better, so it looks like we're going out for a little while tonight.  I need to put on makeup.  Then I need to get the picky's all out of the fridge and put together.  BFF's sometimes boyfriend may be joining us tonight.  He's notoriously late for everything and we aren't going to wait to go out.  We want to be home early!  We've never met the boyfriend, so this may be fun.

I am going to make salmon cakes. I like your menu better. Do you have a recipe for chimichurri sauce?

Nothing as usual, we never celebrate anything.

I cleaned, looks nice, but didn't get much dusting done.

I'm cooking yellow rice, will have some for DD and hubs.
For me shrimp, chicken, and rice. For them filets and baked potatoes.

Later will clean the litter boxes, pretty much it. Will listen to the
ball drop, maybe. Nothing much to look forward too, more of the same.
