Ordered Mexican from down the street. Pick it up in about half an hour. Then I have to write up an adoption blurb for one cat and apparently learn how to use Facebook for the cat group. Joy. Not.

I'll be right there with ya. first round of egg rolls are in the fry pan, and a cocktail has been poured. I never got a nap in today after waking up at 4, either. a 2nd wind came from somewhere, bc I am wide awake right now. here's hoping the few cocktails I intend to have will knock me out for the night. enjoy your party!

Happy New Year everyone.  We ate dinner out with adult beverages and are back home listening to random fireworks.  I'll doze off and on until midnight when it sounds like a major military assault. Then I'll go out to watch the neighbors blow up hundreds of $$ in fireworks and maybe hug a few of the freaks before going to bed.  Between 2 and 4 am I'll be thinking evil thoughts about my neighbors who are still blowing up stuff.

I’ve opened my windows the last few days. I’ve been grateful that the weather has been such that I could do so.

Monday, I opened the sliding glass door leading to the deck. As soon as I got the screen door closed, Newbie came out of nowhere, running outside to the deck, except I’d just closed the screen door, so she knocked it all the way off and it landed on the deck. 

It surprised and scared her, so she ran across the room. When I walked toward her, she cowered and tried to run to her crate. I guess she thought she was in trouble? I assured her that she was not, because she acted like she was afraid to come back out of the laundry room, where her crate is. I don’t like it when she cowers like that.

A few minutes later, when I walked past the screen door again, Mister was putting it back up. He didn’t know how it got knocked down, but he was trying to fix it before I saw it.😂😂😂

It was 60 degrees here today, so the house was open. Made crab cakes and steak for dinner, plus dips in the crockpots for later. It's 2am and I am wide awake. Been home all night, but lots of adult beverages - likely why I will not sleep.

This is the one I have been using.  I used dried pepper flakes rather than whole dried peppers.
