Knee Deep in Water Chloe- that is GORGEOUS! Re: sticky fingered neighbors: We do have a fence up that runs in line with the back of the garage. It can't go any farther back because of the alley. There is only about a 3 foot section of yard between the garage and the alley. chiver78- We have several Ring cameras on the house now, just not on the garage. I told H I would love to add one to the back side of it now. If for nothing else, it would be aimed on our back gate.

Wow, Knee Deep in Water Chloe. That is absolutely wonderful. I think I would spend all my time out there, immersed in a life of ease. Those are great reasons to buy a particular house. And with your love of gardening, your new home will continue to be beautiful, a gracious retreat. THe one we're buying is smaller and more humble than the one we sold. It's shy a bathroom and a finished basement; the basement is unfinished and more akin to a cellar with a bulkhead exterior door in addition to the interior stairs. But: it has no upstairs! And is maybe 400' from a marina, with a seafood restaurant and hotel. The main park and beach is .5 mile away, and across the street is another park. And the town boasts one of the nicest public libraries I have ever seen: Millicent Library, also easy walking distance. I've always wanted to live near water. And at 72 with mobility issues, DH needs a home he can easily get around in and get to places he wants to go.

Congrats finnime and Knee Deep in Water Chloe on the new homes. Love the outdoor kitchen Chloe. Finnime, that sounds like the perfect home and location. I've always wanted to live near the ocean too. We weren't close to water in Seattle, but vacationed at the Oregon coast every year. Dallas won't be our forever home; DH and I will probably move to the coast after the kids launch in a few years. Which coast is up for question though. I love Oregon, but have never been to the east coast; would love to check it out sometime. Setting up our rental home is still a work in progress. Picture scanning is kind of draining me; I've taken a couple of days off. I'm about 1/3 done. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

finnime that sounds like a fabulous location! Having grown up in NY and spent 4 years in Boston, I really hate that Paris is so far from the coast. It's 2.5h from where we live. That used to be a very long day trip, but in recent years it's been a (rarer) overnight trip. We spent most of today watching DS1's graduation on livestream. I only need to go into school two days this week.

I'm still just as busy as ever. Today would have been a good day to catch up on my indoor chores and while I did get a lot done I also pfffft'ed away a lot of time today. We've had high winds all day and heavy rain in the morning. There have been wind gusts all day long at 40+ mph. Today's accomplishments Changed the bed 3 loads of laundry Emptied the dishwasher Put away the dishes drying on the counter Ironed the pillow cases Did some serious damage to the shyte pile, filing caught up, folders made etc Caught up YNAB Cleaned the litter box Cleaned the stove top - mostly because dinner boiled over this evening. Did a Home Depot run
Emptied the waste baskets and took the garbage out Got rid of the last of the 25lb bag of onions that were sprouting in my garage I need to get something figured out about my floors they are always dirty and always feel gritty. I may need a different cleaner or something, but I just don't have time to do my floors every single day. Right now I'm at the point I don't want to do them because I know by the next day they will look dirty again. Part of that is because they are dark floors so they show everything.

Hi All, I hope everyone is doing well. Life has been busy so I haven't been keeping up on the reading, but if I wait until I do I'll never post. I got a tv mounted in the camper van. Yay!!! $25 for the tv, $3 for the cupboard door to attach it to, $7 for hinges and $40 for the chord to mirror from my phone. $75 total!!! I also rearranged storage in the camper so now everything is put away and we don't have to do a full set up to be able to move around. This will make it easier to do last minute, quick trips. I'm so excited.

I found a few things to go out in the trash in the morning.
My recycling bin is full to the brim. It's the first time I have been home on the right Tuesday for it to be picked up since we switched to this new system.
It's too windy to put them out until morning.

Relaxing weekend with a few things accomplished! I got in the pool a couple times and secured the cover to keep bugs and leaves out. I even took my older dachshund for a dip today to cool him off. Also started recovering the chairs I bought last June in Virginia with a vinyl tablecloth for fabric. It’s really bright and cheerful and I LOVE it. Just one more chair to go and they’ll all be done. I should also pick up some screws to re-secure then but that can happen later. I think I’ve mentioned that one of my porch posts was rotten and it finally fell out last night in the wind. A 2x4 is in its place but I am also contacting some repairmen to see what it will cost to re-build. I’m making good progress on the next quilt, I would like to finish it by mid-June. Got a few more things done today and feel more in control heading back to work tomorrow. The bathrooms are clean and I got the bedroom floor vacuumed and the hallways and dinning room/office vacuumed and mopped. The kitchen and dining area in the kitchen also were vacuumed. I also got my counter decluttered. There were several items that needed to go out to the shop and today I finally walked them out there. The kitchen just feels better to not have that clutter hanging around. Dinner tonight was meatloaf and baked potatoes. I threw in a couple of extra potatoes to bake so have enough for a couple more meals. I also made some home made English muffins for the upcoming week.

House has exploded with end of school crapola brought home by two kids and the dumping of our extended weekend gear. Le sigh. First load of laundry is in the washer. 10 am and both kids are still asleep.

I managed to get laundry put away. Was able to get veggies chopped for munchies. Have been taking it easy and pretty much trying to be good and heal.
Working part time right now due to me being tired easily.

Knee Deep in Water Chloe, I am digging that outdoor kitchen! Congratulations to you both. Congratulations to your DS, debthaven. startsmart, you are so creative! snapdragon. The cleaner came for session two last Wednesday. She spent the entire time in the kitchen and cleaned all of the cabinet exteriors, small and large appliances, garbage can, water dispenser, floors, stovetop, etc. A neighbor said Friday the cabinets were glistening. Count me in as one who was subjected to inclement weather over the weekend. True, we need the rain, but sheesh! The wind has been basically non-stop for months with up to 45 MPH gusts last Saturday. No fun while outside at a birthday party for sure. Was productive on my four days off: ~Four loads laundry, including sheets ~Emptied trash bins ~Unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher twice, handwashed some things ~Refilled the ice trays several times ~Descaled the Keurig ~Made a batch of Budget Bytes Not Refried Beans to take to the neighbor's ~Socialized with said neighbors ~Got in several workouts ~Researched information for an upcoming vacation ~Meal planned paying special attention to specific ingredients that need to be used up ~Boiled eggs for the week ~Compiled a grocery pickup for tonight ~Read, played Wordle and Words, watched several hours of DVR programming ~Speaking of the DVR, to clear out some space, DH and I started watching the oldest things first. It's made for interesting sessions, LOL. ~Reviewed our social calendar and vacation itinerary with DH

So today, about 100 miles into my drive, I look at the speedometer and find... a spider. Just hanging out. It kept moving underneath the plastic around the odometer and scaring me. Then it started moving. I pulled over to the shoulder and tried to kill it with a napkin. Except it likely didn't die and fell to the floor by my feet.
Then, driving back from a late lunch to my apartment, it showed up on my arm and I will have a bruise tomorrow for how hard I punched myself. I would very much like this persistent spider to get out of my car and off my body now.
Heading off soon for the event I came to town to see, but I'm also already exhausted today!

38 items gone for the month of May.
The bed frame was the big victory for May.
Moving onto June.

Bed frame is a big one.
I am quite proud of myself that I only bought souvenirs at my 6th great grandfather's cabin on my trip. That was a June acquisition. I only bought $30 worth, so it wasn't much.

Cleaning lady comes today. Need to take a break at lunch and tidy up first. I dug into the school crapola last night. After however many years of school, I decided to put the useable supplies back into their current backpacks and store them in the top shelf of their closets. DD13 has a pile to go thru still because she wants to keep some of her notes from certain classes - she's such a nerd We have an appt to finish scheduling her freshman classes so I need to look at that paperwork with her.

I made cucumber kimchi (spicy pickles) and was searching for glass jars I had stored away somewhere in the kitchen. I got sidetracked when I was digging deep through the no man’s land called the corner cabinet. Started picking through everything and got a large trash bag of stuff to throw out but never found my jars.

I cleaned up my old computer a little too well. I thought I unlinked the old computer from Dropbox but I unlinked the current computer. That means I have spent about 2 hours recreating my spreadsheet and I didn't attempt the Itemized Deductions spreadsheet today. That was enough time recreating since the last backup, which was in April. I need to do a better job of backing up. Guess what I will be doing this evening? I also called to make an appointment to get my will signed. Not happy with the attorney but don't want to start over.

Today was a very long day. Appointment in Paris in the morning, Job 1 in the afternoon, then A's school play in the evening. (She's the director.) She always does the old traditional musicals that last for 3 hours. I just can't sit still for that long. I usually leave at intermission but DH came too so we stayed till the end. Job 2 tomorrow. Fri we go to the UK to babysit for the weekend. We're also meeting up with DH's cousins. I need to run the dishwasher and pack tomorrow. I pack pretty quickly. My toiletries kit is always ready. I keep my UK adapter inside. When I run out of something in the bathroom, I take the one that's in my toiletries kit, and put the new one in there. ETA: I've been able to schedule my two Admin students back-to-back these days, so I'm going into Job 1 once/week for 2 hours. The hours we don't do before summer will get done in the fall when I'm in two days/week anyway.

Back from my short trip to Tulsa, I was a few miles from the shooting last night but thankfully safe. That’s the second trip in 6 weeks with a mass shooting event. The garden is growing like gangbusters with all the rain and I’m working on my list of projects. There’s a chance my family will be here next month (if I decide to see them) so I’m looking at a long list of stuff to do before then.

I made the executive decision this morning that I'm hiring out mowing/trimming the lawn. I've never done it before, and I'm just not interested in figuring it out myself. I saw a post in the town group from a pair of brothers in HS that are starting a small landscape business. 16 and 17yo. the estimate came in at $45, and their first visit will be Monday evening. right now, I asked for 3w intervals (which is what was done last year and it was fine) and we'll go from there.
