This short week is over! It's a four-day weekend here. I was at Job 1 today so I sorted through folders. I found what I need for those once-a-month classes next fall. I need to get another yellow folder for that. This weekend we need to do some weeding. I'm getting a haircut on Friday, then we're invited to a wedding.

Even though it rained all day the rocks were delivered and look great! The delivery driver managed to get them spread out for me and I raked them a bit to cover more mud puddles. Overall I’m very happy it’s done.
Doing a bit of cleaning around the house and a bunch of little things like washing my makeup brushes, putting away laundry and reporting indoor plants.

Managing to get little things done but today has been a very rainy day so a nap was taken as well.

You may remember I cancelled L last week because I didn't want to go into school for just one hour. L refuses to do Zoom classes. She was not thrilled that I cancelled.
I went in today because I had 2 hours, one with S and one with L. S has a much better (but not great) level, and she's flexible ... in person, Zoom, doesn't matter.
L said (in French), I know you had S before me, who do you have next? I said, nobody. L said, So you came in for just two hours?! I said yes.
L said, that's so kind. Most teachers won't come in for 2 hours. Now I understand why you didn't come in for just 1 hour. (She's quite new.)
She schedules my second year class ... she also told me that she knows I hate the old building (everybody does) so she's only scheduling me in the new building.
I'll call that a win LOL!

Because of the post you deleted. It's supposed to be the rolling eyes. I am as fine as I can be after the crap about Covid and that my fellow human beings have failed me and many, many others.

We’ve started moving stuff into the new house. I should have come up with this decluttering plan years ago. Here it is: 1) buy house and raise children 2) keep house as decluttered as possible but always feel like there’s too much stuff 3) launch children 4) sell house and purge while packing 5) buy new house that is twice as big as current house 6) instantly decluttered!

it's crap weather here to start out the holiday weekend - cool and humid, with drizzle. fantastic. perfect weather to keep me on target to deep clean the house. any surface I haven't personally touched in the last two weeks has a thin layer of pollen over everything, it's gross. I've actually kept a feather duster outside with me this week while I've been working out there - for the laptop. we should be mostly past that soon, so I'll just keep the windows closed for the next few days with the AC on. tomorrow it is expected to clear up, no more rain for the weekend. so that FREE! table will go back out in the morning, with more stuff as I de-pollenate the house.

House is clean! It feels so good to have it so nice and clean--even though I know there is fresh cat hair already.
Changing days but not the frequency. That means I get my first house of the day status back and I like that one.

I did a major house clean in the last 48 hours! Bed is made, floors swept up, dishes done, dining table clear, laundry put away and dog’s beds tidied up.
All because I had a guest over this afternoon for a meeting, I need to invite people over more so I will clean. We had a good walk around the garden too because she wanted to see all the work I’d done.
Then I went over to the Farmer’s Market (which was 4 tables) and I got 2 dozen farm fresh eggs for $2! I also gave the woman who sells the eggs about 3 dozen egg cartons I had saved and she picked them up from my porch.
Having a holiday weekend at home and it’ll be hot enough tomorrow to get into the pool!

I got the house tidied up so that we can spend the 3 day weekend working outside and in the garage. My goals are to finish cleaning up the flower beds, get the pool opened, re-spray the weeds I missed in the driveway, take a load of junk to the dumpster, and to get at least 1 corner of the garage cleaned up and organized. Here's a funny/annoying story that is semi decluttering related: We have a flower bed behind our garage. An alley runs behind our garage as well, and we have neighbors across the alley. I have never liked these neighbors as they love to burn garbage in their trash cans in the alley (despite it being illegal to do that here). They have melted several spots in the back of our garage siding and ruined many a "windows open its a beautiful day" for us. Anyway, along my flower bed I have our old vegetable garden landscape timbers. H drove rebar through each end to help them stay put. We really only go out behind the garage to mow, so I planted hostas, vinca, and varigated grasses that are super low maintenance and have filled in the entire bed. I had to go behind the garage the other day and I noticed 2 of our landscape timbers were missing. They didn't just roll away because of the rebar. I just happened to look in the backyard across the alley and what did I see in their burn pile next to their little fire pit? My timbers, with the rebar still sticking out of them. Angry me wanted to march over there and take them back. And I had planned to once the sun had started to set. Other things took my attention and I forgot about them for a few days. I texted my sister, who is married to the chief of police here, to ask what I could do. He told me to go take them back, and if anything was said, to call him and he would come down. Well, I walked out there to go get them only to find that the neighbor had already cut them into small pieces for his stupid firepit table. I am ordering a sign that says something in regards to "smile you are on camera" and hanging it on the back of my garage. I have 2 timbers left. I will definitely be watching them closely to see if they grow legs and walk across the alley as well. The NERVE of people. So I decluttered some landscape items against my will.

Nikiz i would be furious!!! Me, too! I've had neighbors take my parking spaces, but never my landscaping. Melting your garage siding? That's even worse!

Yesterday was productive, I got a haircut and beauty treatment. The wedding was lovely, and the sun came out just in time! The couple had postponed their wedding twice because of Covid.
This morning we did a bunch of weeding, but there's more. I absolutely loathe weeding.
I also bought the yellow folder I need.

I have several regular things to do this weekend. I MUST spray the rocked area in the front of my house for weeds.
This week some utility work was done on the easement in my backyard. I had some them in this subdivision working for a couple of weeks. I have no idea of what the work was for but they dug lots of holes. I don't have any of the boxes on my property.
However, they used the area between my house and the one next door as their road to get back to their work area. I have a low spot that is always wet. It rained a lot this week, so they were working between rainy days. The area had standing water and the water from the sump pump goes there.
There are big ruts in it now. Not one rut where they realized it wasn't a good idea to drive through this area, but it looks like they drove through it every time they went back there.
I am going to have to call the city to see who was working back there as they left it a mess.

hallelujah, we had soaking rain overnight! so once it all dries, my deck and driveway look to be clear of the pollen paste that was there yesterday. 🥳 unfortunately, there's showers expected later now, so I can't put out the free table yet. yesterday. I was able to break down what was left in the huge tote I've had in the dining room. it was mostly reusable water bottles and travel mugs. I kept a few, pitched a few, and put the tote outside to rinse off.
I'm waiting on a call back from the appliance store now, to see if I can declutter a huge box next. Dad and I unpacked the dishwasher and started to install....until we discovered that the power cord kit wasn't included. 🤦♀️. I'm sorry, I went to an appliance store not Home Depot. if a cord wasn't included, why wouldn't the sales associate know to order one at the same time?? the guy I spoke to earlier was a little horrified and apologetic, echoing my thought about when you go to an appliance store, you expect to be able to rely on their expertise... yeah. so apparently my salesperson is going to check on what's in the warehouse. if there's a cord kit that's waiting on an appliance (the lead time is ~1mo on the cord) then I'll get that one and they can backfill for the cord.

Good morning! It's Saturday, and I'm at our new house. I'm setting my timer all day long in 15 - 45 minute increments. I'm rotating between unpacking, work work, homework, and house paperwork tasks. I'm on Day 6 of COVID, so I am making sure to put rest periods as part of the rotation.

Oh no Knee Deep in Water Chloe !!! I hope you're getting better. Congrats again on the new house! If you don't mind me asking, why did you opt for a bigger house at this point in your lives? Feel free to ignore my question! Can't wait to say congratulations to finnime next week! We went grocery shopping this afternoon, then DH did more weeding! My DS1 and DS3 are both in the States!!! DS1 for his Masters graduation (two years late because of Covid), and DS3 to show A New York and visit my family.

debthaven, because we're just dumb. But here are the four very logical reasons: 1) The location is as perfect as it can be. I'm adamant about living on dead-end streets. This house is on one, and is on a flag lot. It is also less than two minutes for me to get on the freeway. Since I'm going back to a 30-min commute without counting driving through the town we'll live in, this saved me at least 10 to 20 minutes per day compared to other houses we considered.
2) It has a fantastic view. DH wanted a view the last time we purchased a house, and it didn't work out in his favor.
3) It has RV parking already set up. (e.g. At one property we considered, it would have cost at least $50K to set up the parking.)
4) When DH saw this part of the property, he just simply wouldn't consider another house:
