Hoarding isn't just a habit. It's a psychological disorder. I could not tolerate someone hiding, nor could I compartmentalize, such a big issue in his life. Cat poop in the laundry suggests not just a cluttered, messy home but a serious unaddressed psychological disorder. But if you're good with ignoring that aspect of him, more power to you. That could totally be true. Or not! It's a pretty big leap honestly from having a messy car and 1 laundry snafu. My sister is a hoarder and has a double digit # of cats (who get impeccable medical care, top grade food, and attention). She does her laundry at my house every week and there are no obvious signs of her issues from her laundry. On the other hand, in prep for our bathroom remodel model I moved a bathmat to the basement shower and found poop folded up in it. I practically washed it as-is since I was just grabbing it, not expecting any issues. The cats have never crapped on the same mat upstairs, even when their litter box was there.

True, raeoflyte, there are levels of hoarding. The poster whose boyfriend had cat poop in the laundry called him a borderline hoarder, so I was going with that. If I were dating someone who was at least a borderline hoarder, I would want to see his living conditions and determine for myself how bad it was. But hey, maybe that's just me.
