How the fuck will it get solved? Trump gets to be president again and kicks Biden to the curb? Does he not understand that he made two GA GOP senators lose their re election campaigns by telling his MAGA heads that the GA elections were crooked and they shouldn’t bother to vote in a crooked election? He lost the senate for the GOP and now he’s going to convince his MAGA heads they shouldn’t vote in 2022 or in 2024 either - because it’s still corrupt. I hope McConnell is sitting somewhere crying into his whiskey because he regrets ever humoring the human cane toad who will end up destroying the GOP. I hope he keeps running his big mouth, maybe republicans will start to realize how he little he cares about the country. I definitely hope Mitch is getting his gut full of Donald Trump. I hope all of them that could have stopped him are.

a first testcase for midterms is coming up in Virginia. normally, the Democratic governor would SAIL to victory. but he is getting a tough challenge. two months ago, he had a solid 8% lead, but that lead is now 3% with a month to go: projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/governor/virginia/some of this is due to a very Republican friendly set of polls by the prestigious Emerson College. that poll shows about 3% outlying both nationally, and in local elections like this. they are probably making different modeling assumptions. we will see if they are right or not. if they are, it is a dead heat. if they are wrong, the governor leads by approximately polling error. At the Wednesday event, rallygoers recited the Pledge of Allegiance before a U.S. flag that the hosts of the event said had been carried during a Trump rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6 - the same day as the deadly Capitol riot.
McAuliffe and Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, a Democrat, both condemned the event and Youngkin distanced himself from it in a statement on Thursday. "While I had no role in last night's event, I have heard about it from many people in the media today," Youngkin's statement said. "It is weird and wrong to pledge allegiance to a flag connected to January 6. As I have said many times before, the violence that occurred on January 6 was sickening and wrong." www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/glenn-youngkin-keeps-distance-from-unpopular-donald-trump-in-virginia/ar-AAPyycV?ocid=uxbndlbingPoor guy is almost begging Trump to leave him alone!

I would have more respect if he posted a link about a Republican state doing the gerrymandering. But he wants to score political points. Over the last 20 years, one party has been far more guilty of this. If he was fair he would acknowledge that.

I think what Trump is trying to say is if a candidate does not back his claim that he won the election, he will instruct the GOP not to vote for them, and they will be losers. What he hasn’t apparently figured out is that if he refuses to back the lead GOP candidate for failing his loyalty test, a Dem would win. Or maybe he has figured it out, since he was urging his GA minions to vote for the liberal Democrats Stacy Abram rather than Kemp. Idiot.

Over the last 20 years, one party has been far more guilty of this. If he was fair he would acknowledge that. there was one particular district in North Carolina (if memory serves) that is so ridiculous that it got thrown out by the state Supreme Court.
the GOP has made redistricting an art form. the result is that even though they routinely lose house elections by an average of 4%, they have roughly the same number of seats since 2010. which means, of course, they are already disenfranchising 4% of US voters. what they are doing lately is simply trying to increase that. which, of course, they HAVE to do, since their most stalwart voters are dying off by the droves.

Ezra Klein is pretty sharp, and that 51% number is probably accurate. I would be deeply concerned if I were a Democrat.

I lived in NC when they first drew a district that basically hugged I-85, ridiculous district

infantile.

Yes. District 12. It was ridiculous. At some places it was barely wider than the highway

Ok, thanks. I was not sure about the article. Now this. www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/house-dem-retirement-rush-continues-with-2-new-departures/ar-AAPFwK2?li=BBnb7KzAre the Democrats going to have the issue of retiring members in 2022 as the Republicans did in 2020. It especialy hurts inlocal (not necessarily national) fundraising efforts when long term office holders retire. Is this a legitimate concern that makes a Republican majority in the house a realistic outcome?

Remember how the economy was cranking in 2019 and everyone thought DT was a shoo in for 2020? Or how Clinton was a shoo in for 2016, until Comey made the last minute email announcement? Anything can happen and probably will.

Watched that yesterday. Its amazing that last guy thinks the QAnon shaman looks like the guy waving his hands by the plane. Its sad they don't get anti-fa and others they want to blame had no reason to be there Jan. 6th.

Just goes to show Trump supporters are mentally incapable of separating fact from fiction along with being unethical and amoral.

McConnel is concered Trump's endless bitching is going to cost them seats in 2022. www.cnn.com/2021/10/20/politics/mitch-mcconnell-donald-trump-2022-midterms/index.html"I do think we need to be thinking about the future and not the past. I think the American people are focusing on this administration, what it's doing to the country, and it's my hope the '22 election will be a referendum on the performance of the current administration, not a rehash of suggestions about what may have happened in 2020." That's about as close as McConnell will get to outright refutation of Trump and the strategy, such as it is, that the former president is peddling -- a hard focus on trying to prove (nonexistent) voter fraud in the 2020 election. So I say GO TRUMP! BITCH BITCH BITCH! I totally support you in your endless quest to prove you are the victim!

Marge Green is worried his threatening to not have his minions vote will actually happen and more Dem candidates will slip through, like the two current Georgia senators. She’s pleading for Republicans to swarm the voting polls. She’s right, but I think the minions will obey Trump rather than her. Also Hershal Walker, Trumps hand picked GA candidate, just said he doesn’t believe the Big Lie. Whoops!

Biden's approval rating looks bad. The Virginia gov. race looks closer than it should be. I am glad the Dems have another year until the midterms, because right now things look bleak.
Went home last week to visit the family and it was a stream of blaming Biden. The white working class, like those in the video above, are a scary mix of misinformation, and intense determination. I don't think the democrats can overcome that at the moment.

we have really short memory spans. nobody looks good at the end of year one. actually, again, there was ONE exception to that. GWB. but other than that, there have been ZERO presidents that polled better at moth 20 than month 1.
