in my sunniest moments, this is how I think. you don't want to hear about my darkest ones.
Always remember, everything Trump touches dies. So will this. Trump touched America.

He admitted that the issue is the main one that keeps him in the spotlight. “It’s the single biggest issue, the issue that gets the most pull, the most respect, the biggest cheers is talking about the election fraud of the 2020 presidential election. Nobody’s ever seen anything like it,” he said. Acosta later said Trump “just gave away the big lie” with this admission. “He is admitting that his election lies are ego juice. Just there to pump up the crowd, the very stuff that fueled the insurrection. And by now, we know he’ll take those crocodile tears ― the big lie is the big cry, of course, as we said before ― all the way to the bank and perhaps to the 2024 election.” news.yahoo.com/cnns-jim-acosta-says-trumps-233503939.htmlAnd just think, if there was anything to the leaders of the Republican party, he would have been convicted and the US would have been done with him.

We can only hope but WHEN? All his legal crap is taking way to long!
In the mean time he is able to continue inflicting his Blizzard of Bullshit on us and driving this country to the brink of a democracy disaster with the help of all the cowardly cohort Repugnants in his Cult of Personality. Define "way too long". IMHO, the legal crap is on pace, given the sheer magnitude and the monumental stakes of it all. There is so much of it you would think one or two things would be to the charging faze at this point. Any days that he is still free is too long.
Every Monday morning when I plug back into the world I am always disappointed that he is still breathing. He belongs in HELL with Charles Manson and OBL. JMHO

Trumps latest mailing list request is that each of his MAGA heads send him 45 bucks to solve the 2020 election fraud.
Man he found his cash cow and he’s going to trot that beast out at every possible chance. 2016 he had the scary brown people flooding the border, but this grift is even sweeter.
He’s got to raise a lot of cash for that big personal loan he has to pay back in a few years. Thank goodness he’s got a big pack of rubes to milk, or he might actually have to get a real job, or sell one of his money pits he calls a resort.

Or maybe he’ll just skip out on repaying the loans. He’s good at that.

GOP senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana said he would not vote for Trump in 2024 because‘ elections are about winning’ and thanks to Trump the GOP lost the presidency, the House and the Senate. He’s the first president in nearly 90 years to do that.’
So he dared to call the king naked.
Can’t quote but it’s on Business Insider.
Let the ex presidential outrage begin.

You could tell there was some sort of organization to the events that took place on Jan. 6th, but good Lord! We need to bring back firing squads, so NO ONE even THINKS of doing something like this for another generation. Or, maybe borrow that public gallows that the participants had set up for Pence. Slaps on the wrist could destroy our government. Unless we bring the organizers to justice, I actually dread the next presidential election...

They put on a pretty good episode of the Trump show yesterday with the Attorney General Garland: During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General Merrick Garland, Sen. Ted Cruz defended parents opposed to mask mandates in school, including an Ohio woman who made a Nazi salute at a school board meeting. Garland faced testy comments from Sen. Tom Cotton as well as other Republicans during the hearing, who called for the memo to be rescinded and for the Attorney General to resign. "Thank God you are not on the Supreme Court," Cotton told Garland during the hearing. www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ted-cruz-defended-an-anti-mask-parent-who-did-a-nazi-salute-at-a-school-board-meeting/ar-AAQ1MAB?ocid=msedgntpYou think your job is hard? I wonder how he kept from telling Cotton to go F^&K yourself!

Well it is your God given right to be able to physically threaten and intimidate those who you disagree with. I should be able to march into a school board meeting in full Nazi regalia so I can clearly convince them of how much they are violating my rights as a human being. I should be able to show up armed with guns and ropes to kidnap you and have a nice logical discussion about why you are wrong about masks.
It's my right to be heard no matter what the means.
Unless you are liberal or black. Then you are a thug who deserves to be shot. We need to bring the full force of the law in to protect those whose personal safety you threaten simply by existing.

And it is reasonable for federal law enforcement officials to work with local jurisdictions to identify actual threats of criminal activity.

Men shot by Kyle Rittenhouse can be called ‘rioters’ and ‘looters’ but not ‘victims,’ judge rulesA Wisconsin judge ruled Monday that attorneys in the Kyle Rittenhouse murder trial could refer to the men the teen shot in Kenosha, Wis., last year as “rioters,” “looters” and “arsonists.” They could not, however, describe Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, who were killed, and Gaige Grosskreutz, who was wounded, as “victims” because the term was “loaded,” the judge said. The ruling comes ahead of what’s expected to be a contentious trial. Rittenhouse, then 17, shot the men in downtown Kenosha on Aug. 25, 2020, with an AR-15-style rifle after crossing state lines during the turmoil sparked by the shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man, by Rusten Sheskey, a White police officer. Rittenhouse was with fellow armed men who had tasked themselves with patrolling Kenosha’s streets amid the chaos. Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder laid out final ground rules before the trial next week. Rittenhouse faces homicide charges in the deaths of Rosenbaum, 36, and Huber, 26, and an attempted homicide charge for shooting Grosskreutz, 27. He also is charged with being a minor in possession of a firearm. Rittenhouse has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and his attorneys are expected to argue that he acted in self-defense. One of those guys that were murdered by Rittenhouse was there to provide medical assistance. I never got the impression that he was a rioter. That judge has some serious bias. This case is definitely going to the supreme court, hopefully the will rule with more fairness, but I personally believe Democracy in the US is gone. We are already living in a Theocracy.

This case is definitely going to the supreme court, hopefully the will rule with more fairness, but I personally believe Democracy in the US is gone. We are already living in a Theocracy. I heard some lawyer say that it is standard practice to ask the courts to remove the label "victim" from trials because it implies a crime and biases juries. He also said that this particular judge has a track record of granting that in every case (I don't know if someone really checked every one of his cases.) If he allowed the 'victim' label here, he would be showing a bias. The judge also disallowed the labels of rioters or anything that sounded like the victims were committing crimes or up to no good. I don’t know if they are allowed to use 'protestor'. I highly doubt the criminal case ends up in the Supreme Court. Maybe a civil case would turn up more civil rights disputes that could get it there. Moral of the story - let's be careful not to blindly believe everything we read and let the writer of said story fire up emotions on things that have an explanation. Let's be better. If we know we are on the moral high ground, we don't have to churn over the little stuff, and we should make sure what we do make a deal about holds water.

isn't it standard parlance, though?
you have victims and perpetrators.
or is it defendant and litigant in a court?

The good news is the easiest way is to refer them is to use the victim's names. That humanizes them a lot. When they are nameless (or their name was briefly mentioned at the beginning of the trial and the jury forgot the name) it is easier to forget that a whole life was extinguished.
