Well I have been putting a small bit extra on the Kitchen reno and am now below 20K.
Extra has been put into the travel, house maintenance and savings accounts.
I will keep adding to the lasik account but my eyes are still really jumpy and so it will be a minimum of 3 years before I can go away from glasses. I was not really in a great headspace when I found that out. I have a hard enough time with glasses there is no way I am doing contacts. I would end up slicing a eyeball with one of my nails.
Everyone keep chugging along.

Not sure if I am in time for smilies, think I may have missed a paycheck update too, but this is uptodate. Edited to add: I have a long way to go for this year! Despite things going well, I may not make all my goals, which seems, not right but will see how it goes for the countdown. Do have a few RI projects before years end, already nearly done with xmas shopping since they gave a lot of warnings about supply chain effects on holiday shopping. I noticed your addition error when I did the updates, saw you added more money this month, but your total went down.

Update: Sorry, I have basically been absent from this board. Getting my house on the market took a ton of work and concentration. My fiance, who was helping me, got sent to GA in April for a temporary position. Was supposed to be until Oct 24, now Dec. 26. Needless to say, I had to finish everything up myself. Well....I did it!! Home is remodeled on and on the market. I maxed out both my goals and then some. Not sure exact amounts because it was more costly and time consuming than I thought it would be and it is all a blur! If you are interested, here is the Zillow link to my home. www.zillow.com/homes/111-Boyer-Dr-Walla-Walla-WA-99362_rb/91570087_zpid/I remodeled the kitchen and everything in the basement starting with the stair well. I installed the fireplace wall (fireplace and shiplap and made the mantel), as well as made the shelving and both barn doors. We tiled the whole basement with the exception of the laundry room so approx. 900 sq ft. We listed it at $369k and has a full price offer with me paying 3% closing costs. Then they backed out because the home has galvanized pipes (built in 1947 so not sure what they expected). This week I decided to lower price to $359k because that is still more than the offer netted me. We will see what happens. Sucks that we are heading into the holidays but it just took longer to remodel than I expected. Pray is sells soon!! I so want to be debt free by the end of the 2021!!! Hope all is well! Teachermom

teachermom , somehow a straggly comma got put in the url after Walla Walla. I mention it in case you want to edit it so it's a direct link. Very snazzy house!

Azucena $32,450 of $30,000 (108%) as of 10/29/2021 Stretch goal $35,000
Payday deposit of $2524. Already passed stretch goal. On track to save another $3k by yearend. I'm taking this as a sign to spend some money. Trying for the 3rd or 4th time to find someone to take on some home improvement projects. Can't get anyone to respond even though I think I'm going to spend $3-5k. - stair refinishing; carpet already removed, need to be sanded and stained - finish stripping and painting my front door - inset 3 medicine cabinets - custom entryway cubbies - upper and lower cabinets in bar area
Azucena $35,774 of $30,000 (119%) as of 11/12/2021 Stretch goal $35,000

I had to come post another update for our savings! I transferred our extra funds over to the boys' savings accounts and hit their goals today. In total, they were less than $200 from the goals so I moved it over while I had some extra $$$ sitting without a job in my checking. I also transferred $300 over to our EF- I may be able to move more this Friday. H received a $2,500 raise at work, retroactive back to July so he will be getting a lump sum payment on this next check for July-Nov.

Rukh O'Rorke [2] Multiyear MM/stocks Goal $-3790.75 (Start=$11,066.31 / Goal=$20,000) 24/26 paychecks for 2021. I was still missing a paycheck's worth of contributions, so the totals may not match from last update but the 401 and hsa are taken off my most recent paystub. Did not double the added column, just updating totals. I took some money out of EF to pay bills before pay checks for work and an RI check got deposited, and then transferred to I-bonds rather than replace in EF when the usual funds showed up a day or so later. 401 and hsa will max by last paycheck. Still hoping I can meet the MM/stocks category goal. I have invoices out for 4 (Four!!) RI projects. One is pretty meaty, but I do have some subcontracting to pay out from those and considering some RI purchases before year end, so will see how much money I keep. I may take RI legit this year, go LLC, get a checking account, credit card, etc. I'm not sure about my MM/stocks and my multiyear EF goal, that has just been trashed to be honest. I keep shoveling in, and I keep taking out! Since I'm considering retiring sooner than expected due to a generally great stock market (friday notwithstanding) and tesla gains, I need to get a better handle on cash flows. At long last, money has just been pouring in and I don't need to worry about spending or bills to pay. But that all changes when I quit. I am forcing myself to keep working until I finish up the house projects (in case I need more money than I have squirreled away for it and might need to cash flow or even get additional short term credit for 1 or 2 projects), and get a handle what a budget might look like for me post-retirement. Every few months, things have changed there, so need to see where it all lands now that most changes are coming to an end. and monitor the market during that time!

Thinking about 2022 goals, since the market is really down this week, and I may not be able to retire like I was thinking about in 2022 - depending on where it all goes of course. Rukh O'Rorke Saving Goals for 2022 Account | Goal | 401k | $27,000 | HSA | $3,650 | I-Bonds | $10,000 | MM
| $20,000 | Total | $60,650 |
401k limit is up by 1k, I will be doing single hsa rather than family so that is less about 4k or so. Want to continue building I bond and find other bond/cash investments I like, I just really want more ibonds! I love that 7% return! Upping the MM goal, thinking my mulityear goal is not working out - it is just a piggy bank with money going in and money going out. Student loans are going back into repayment, that'll be a drag on the finances for sure. I paid off 3 of the smaller loans, but think my minimum payment will still be more than 1k/month. These savings goals will only be acheiveable if I get some good RI action through the year. I have finished all projects for this year, and neither client mentioned anything about work in 2022. I'll likely know by Feb/Mar if they are coming back, so will keep an eye on my email. Kind of a bummer to not know as I am planning on going LLC before end of year, but may not be worth the effort if they don't come back. Ah well! will see what happens.

Whew! It's been a long time since I've even thought about updating my own numbers. Name | Start | Current | Goal | % Saved | Spent | Emergency Fund | $2,000 | $2,005 | $2,000 | 100.0% |
| Gifts | $14 | $379 | $2,300 | 38.2% | $1,889 | Travel | $2,310 | $0 | $5,000 | 0.0% | $5,000 | Property Tax | $2,785 | $4,606 | $5,500 | 175.6% | $8,242 | Periodic Expense | $0 | $2,004 | $2,000 | 100.0% |
| Weekly Savings | $227 | $1,494 | $1,605 | 85.6% |
| Total | $5,560 | $10,488 | $18,405 | 100.0% | $15,131 |
Serious this time [1], 12/9/2021, $10,488 (Goal $18,405)
Serious this time [2], 12/9/2021, $1,007 (Goal $10,000) (DGS's OOP medical) Weekly SavingsThe key phrase for this update is "money saved, money spent." I paid property taxes in full even though the last installment wasn't due until February. I realized that this year I was well below the $10,000 threshold for the SALT deduction (the federal income tax deduction for state and local taxes is capped at $10K) so I made the most of it. Going forward, I will have to do the same next year, pay all of it when the first installment is due.

Well I keep putting money away as necessary. I will be waiting until next year to put any thoughts down just due to what I am hoping to make happen. Extra has been going into accounts that I fully funded so those numbers will be changing.
Take care and looking forward to a much better 2022!

Well folks, I wanted to stop by and again THANK everyone for the past few years, keeping me motivated and engaged with tracking how much we were saving. DH is officially retiring in Jan. 2022 and I was finished this Fall. NO MORE SAVING. Now the transition to living off what we have amassed (neither of us will collect SS yet and neither of us have a pension) will be an adjustment. DH is 62 and I am 61.
Our 2022 expenses will be low with no debt and no planned international travel. Of course in preparation for no more paychecks I banked the full year of real estate taxes (6k), pre-paid lawn service, pre-paid home/auto insurance, etc. Our health insurance will be through the state ACA and is quite affordable. With no income in 2022 we will be doing conversions from T IRAs to Roth IRAs.
I have started a pretty detailed spreadsheet for 2022 to track our new 'retirement' spending patterns. Good luck to all you savers!

We sold our house and moved, which accounts for the large amount in the EF. Still figuring out what to do with it - leave it, fund Roths, payback kids' 529s (this was for when I stopped contributions due to large daycare expenses), DH is probably getting a new truck, etc. I bumped up the kids' 529s to $200/month around...August? So I ended up with more there. For 2022, I'm hoping to bump up the 529s even more, max out 401k due to job change, and hopefully fully fund two Roths for DH and I. And...actually update monthly.

Serious this time [2], 12/30/2021, $1,007 (Goal $10,000) (DGS's OOP medical) Weekly SavingsThe good, the bad, and the ugly for 2021. Considering what I have spent, I have saved more than my overall goal for the year, but when I started out this year I said I wanted to track the account balance (saved minus spent), and not just amount saved. So I knew it would fluctuate up and down. On one hand, I thoroughly enjoyed spending my travel savings (plus more that I cash flowed), I like the peace of mind knowing that my property taxes are not due again for almost another year, and I still have a significant balance in my Gift account. On the other hand, I would love to see a more lush garden. I am thinking about goals for 2022. I may just track savings, and not current balance.

ATTN: SAVERS Annie7 azucena bobosensei debthaven nidena nikiz628 nooccar paynointerest plugginaway22 Rukh O'Rorke Saving4Norway sealy shanendoah snapdragon speechchick71 steph08 teachermom-- a few things... 1. I've asked Blonde Granny to keep this thread open until January 10. This will give everyone an opportunity to post their final numbers for the year, and for us to get the final smilies and shoutouts posted. The thread will be locked after that. 2. The 2022 WOMEN IN RED SAVERS thread is now open. If you want to start posting thoughts and goals for the new year, please post them on that thread. Blonde Granny, would you please sticky the new thread to the top, while also keeping this one stickied to the top until it is closed? 3. As you have probably noticed, real life has interfered with our ability to do timely smilies and shoutouts for the Savers. forwardwego and I very much appreciate your patience during this very busy year. Once the smilies and shoutouts are done, we would both be interested in turning the Savers admin tasks over to one or more of you Savers. Please consider taking on the task of smilies and/or shoutouts for 2022. I can say that doing this has brought to the forefront the importance of purposeful saving, and not simply waiting to see what's left over at the end of the month. It takes mindfulness to get where you want to be.
Thank you so much for your consideration.

Last update for 2021: Account | Goal | Current | New Flooring | $4,000 | $21.93 | CD | $1,005 | $1,002.20 | Funeral Travel Expenses | $1,000 | $385.00 | TSP | $5,000 | $1,205.43 | RO IRA | $60,000 | $15,787.81 | Roth IRA | $162,000 | $5,039.89 | Annuity |
| $5,462.45 | Total | $233,005 | $28,904.71 |
Nidena 12/31/2021 $28,904.71 (Goal $233,811 WIRS10 of 2021)The New Flooring amount saved went down because of the awesome desk that I ordered. I'm thinking I may actually get rid of this as a savings goal because I really just use the account to collect funds for awhile and then put them towards my CC after I make the purchase. The Annuity has 15 more months until I can 1035 the funds into something else and the CD is something I set up just to have another $1000 to add to that transfer when it happens. Come 2023, it will likely fund my Roth for the full amount in one fell swoop and then add the excess elsewhere. The Funeral Travel Expenses are for WAY in the future (knock wood) in case my brother and/or SIL have to come out to act as Executor of my estate. Better to fund it now, let it grow, and they not have to worry about finding money for plane tickets when the time comes. So, really, my only long-term savings are the RO IRA, the Roth, and the TSP.

Finally done paying for DS2's tuition. So removed that line. It was a little over $2k instead of the expected $16K since he only had to take 1 class to graduate. Decided to add in the "Other Maintenance category" with the left over money. Roof replacement will probably be financed. I paid off the car loan and DS2's tuition this year. I was able to cash flow new tires for my car. Got a new puppy and spent a boat load of money on her (nearly 7K with vet, food, set up, breeder fees, etc). And was able to save over $28K for my goals. I'm feeling really proud of myself. First full year post-divorce. Annie7 10/31/2021 $68,775 (Goal $101,000)
| Goal Amount | Saved $ | Amount to Go | Needed By | % Met | Basement | $10,000 | $10,000 | $0 | 12/31/2021 | 100% | AC Replacement | $10,000 | $10,000 | $0 | 8/1/2022 | 100% | Spring Tuition | $16,000 | $16,000 | $0 | 12/31/2021 | 100% | Emergency Fund | $35,000 | $32,775 | $2,225 | 9/1/2022 | 93% | Roof Replacement | $30,000 | $0 | $30,000 | 2023 | 0% | Total | $101,000 | $68,775 | $32,225 |

I did increase my 401K with-holding to max it (can't do the catch-up). I didn't think I could do it this year though I've done it all these years. But by doubling it for the remaining 5 paychecks (bi-monthly pay checks) I will be able to max it. So my disposable income reduced a bit and I had to draw $25 from savings for regular expenses. I hope to not do this for Nov/Dec. Annie7 9/30/2021 $68,800 (Goal $101,000)
| Goal Amount | Saved Amount | Amount To Go | Needed By | % Met | Basement | $10,000 | $10,000 | $0 | 12/31/2021 | 100% | AC Replacement | $10,000 | $10,000 | $0 | 8/1/2021 | 100% | Spring Tuition | $16,000 | $16,000 | $0 | 12/31/2021 | 100% | Roof Replacement | $30,000 | $0 | $30,000 | 2023 | 0% | Emergency Fund | $35,000 | $32,800 | $2,200 | 9/1/2022 | 93% | Total | $101,000 | $68,800 | $32,200 |

I removed the Auto Maintenance which was done. Added in DS2's final tuition and Basement repair after Ida. I don't expect to get to the goal this year and that's ok. I'm assuming I won't need the roof replacement until 2023 and so might have some time to save for that.

Congratulation Savers! We did it! Whether we saved it all or just tried our best and rolled with what life dealt us, we did it!
Snaps all around!!!
UPDATE for Rukh:Rukh O'Rorke [1] Saving Goals for 2021 Account | Goal | Saved | Percent | 401k | $26,000 | $26,000
| 100% | HSA | $7,600 | $7,600
| 100% | I-Bonds | $10,000 | $10,000
| 100% | MM/stocks | $10,000 | $7,000 | 70% | Total | $53,600 | $50,600
| 94%

Rukh O'Rorke [2] Multiyear MM/stocks Goal $-1956.42 (Start=$11,066.31 / Goal=$20,000) Well, that's a wrap! The good! I was able to max 401k and HSA as planned. Plus the Ibonds were maxed which was added midyear after I found out about them. The bad! financially anyway.... My EF/regular savings was a bust. Didn't make goalLost some on stocks and then used for some unexpected large expenses - like major surgery for a feral kitten got tangle in the garage. He is now safe and pretty domesticated in the house, on his three remaining legs. As are his siblings. Pet expenses are way up. so bad financially but a lot of cute cuddling in exchange. The lack of a real savings buffer continues, as I consider the Ibonds a more long term strategy for retirement AA. This needs addressing for sure. Overall, calling it a win at 94%. Will see how I far I get with similar goals this year.

Definitely a win, Rukh O'Rorke ! I'd like to add that I bought I bonds based on some of your posts. Thank you for the great tip! I'm going to transfer and buy more in 2022.

Hi Savers, This thread had been locked when I went to do the updates and smilies this past weekend. chiver78 has reopened it for us. I'll be delayed doing the final posts due to medical appointments today and tomorrow. I'll get back to it on Wednesday. If you have any final updates, there is still time to post them here. Thank you!
