Sis just texted me pictures. He is perfect. And I am a blubbering mess. Of course, he is perfect. Congratulations Iggy! Babies are so adorable, especially when you can give them back to their parents. I understand about not getting to see baby. I've seen my youngest great nephew once since he was born last March. That was after a negative covid test.

Congratulations, Iggy!
Ooooh, taxes! Yes! My CPA now has a client portal, so no more depending on snail mail to get the docs there in time. I uploaded all my docs to the portal last week, and they notified me the next day that they had started working on it. Yay!
All the boxes for Purple Heart pickup this week are now out of the basement. Also rearranged some of the storage furniture in the basement so it's easier to get around and access the stuff that needs to go away.

They are so lucky to have you Iggy aka IG ! dannylion sounds to me like you've got a LOT done! This week- see A/Tues - call hairdresser/Tues (appt Thurs afternoon)- Shitepile - mark 8 (short) papers I had ONE colleague at Job 1 who was also working remotely. Found out she went back to school two weeks ago "for mental health reasons". She's much younger / slimmer than me. Frankly I'm considering doing the same thing. She originally wanted to teach remotely because she is the sole carer for her very elderly parents (one with dementia, the other with stage 4 cancer). But she couldn't take it anymore. I mentioned going back to my kids, they all went MENTAL. So I'm trying to hold out for the first vaccine. In theory the local pharmacies should be able to vaccinate us in a few weeks.

Thank you so much, ladies. Sorry I posted and dashed yesterday. I ended up quickly wrapping up things here at the office and going to see my sis and BIL for a celebratory cocktail. My niece called in with a video chat while we were at the restaurant, so we got to see her and her son live. Close friends to whom I have texted his picture said he's good looking for a newborn, LOL. 7 lbs, 19.8 inches, and a towhead. He's a keeper. And my niece and her DH are glowing.

I decluttered a sump pump this afternoon and had a new one installed.
I hate having a sump pump, but I can diagnose them pretty well after almost 12 years.

Glad you were able to celebrate Iggy aka IG ! Ouch on the sump pump TheOtherMe . This week
- hairdresser/Thurs - Shitepile - mark 8 (short) papers I'm getting vaccinated on Sun! By an ophthalmologist but hey lol. I'm happy but also sad, because he had 2 slots left ... by the time I finished booking mine (20 seconds?!) the other slot (for DH) had disappeared. It seems too good to be true, so we'll see. DS1 arrives tomorrow ... my ex FIL (grandfather to my 3 older children) is dying.

Today, I got in a trip to the gym, got the cat domain cleaned--never a fun job, went and picked up my will and other estate planning docs from the lawyer, and then stopped by Costco. I managed to get out of there spending less than $100. Now, I'm gonna head to Fort Harrison State Park and get some more steps in.
I'm thinking, some time in April and after Buster has been gone for a bit, I may get another cat. I don't want Shivers to be an only cat and I think a 5- or 6-year old would be a good addition. She's 11.

Made it through all of the beginning of the week appointments. Made the appointment for blood lab work for this coming Monday as the times they had available would not work with needing to fast prior to the blood tests. Maintaining progress and hope to continue doing so the rest of the week. I decluttered a garbage disposal this afternoon. I expected that would be the case as whenever I ran the dishwasher the last two times I noticed that the disposal leaked. The dishwasher drainage is run through the disposal. I always keep a pan under the sink I only had one service charge to pay. I will be on Zoom for three classes tomorrow. Friday is currently unscheduled but I have loads of things to do so hope to get a few things done. I picked up tax forms at the library so I can start working on taxes. I like to do an estimate before I take the info to my DB for him to run them through his tax program. I am so grateful that he can do this for me, Iggy aka IG -- Congrats on becoming a Great Aunt. I have a feeling that the baby will be a little spoiled by both you and his grandparents. debthaven -- So glad that you manage to an appointment for your vaccine. It will make it easier to return to teaching in person. Take care of yourself as your family needs you. You can do the remote teaching a few more weeks at least until the second vaccine is taken and then some.

moneysquirrel here the second AZ vaccine is given 9-12 weeks later ... I do NOT want to wait that long to go back. (I'm eligible ONLY for the AZ.) I spoke to my best friend in NY (a GP). He said I can go back to school 2 weeks after the first shot. It would still be a bit risky, but MUCH less so. So that was my plan. But today's numbers here are MUCH worse than they have been in 3 months, so school may go online again anyway. I can't cope with another 3 months at home IF I have the option to go back (relatively) safely. ETA: Apparently the optimal results for the first AZ vaccine are after 3 weeks ... I can wait that long.

It looks like I better finish up my home office, that work from home job I applied for is calling my references. I'm taking that as a good sign 😁

I am planning to list my donations and get them in the car and out of the house this week. Little bits but they are important and add up. Everything was photographed, written up and is in the car for donation after work tonight. I get happy every time I see that empty area in the living room.

I started building the box for the trash cans until my drill died, I may need to buy a new one because the battery life is just pathetic these days for my makita.
I also measured and figured the sizes of all the beds I want to build this spring and made my shopping list. I do not think 300 pieces of wood is going to fit in the back of my new car so I'll be making a supply run today to see just how much I can buy for the first round. It's currently very muddy so I want to wait a bit for the ground to dry out before I put the first few boxes in place OR I'll just buy a bale of straw because I know the rainy season is coming.
The secondary challenge will be getting enough dirt, right now my calculations are over 20 cubic yards needed if I build all the beds I'm considering (1 large hydrangea bed, 9 vegetable beds, 5 flower beds & a compost bin).

Another box packed for Purple Heart and 2 bins of old magazines filled for recycling (I finally admitted that I'm never going to make any of the craft/sewing/beading projects from those magazines I've been saving for 20 years, nor am I going to finish reading those Scientific American articles I didn't finish when the magazines were new. Out they go.)
Also, I have vaccine appointments! I'm really excited! It's been very difficult to get an appointment as the supply in Maryland has been much smaller than the demand. There are several mass vaccination sites where folks are having the best luck, but they are far away from me (and in high-traffic areas that I would like to avoid). Also, they are always all booked whenever I've checked them. I've been checking all the resources I know about, but there are never any appointments available that I could find. A friend of my dog buddy's mom is an organizational whiz and has been helping people navigate the multiple sources for vaccines and found appointments for both injections for me! First appointment on Sunday. Yay!

Busy busy day of work + errands which is complicated by the fact the stores are 1-2 hours away from home.
Nevertheless, I made the trip and finished:
-2 Amazon returns so I can get credited back -stock up on groceries at Trader Joe's -over 100 boards for the raised garden beds -new drill and impact driver I'm very excited about
Also checked out a vintage store on the way and found some great glasses and books on sale. I'm lucky they fit in the car with all the wood, groceries and usual stuff.
Now I need to make time to unload the car so I can start assembling garden beds this weekend.

Great progress dannylion and congrats on getting the vaccine! Our first appt is Sunday too! startsmart I'm betting you'll fit more in that car than the previous owner ever did lol. DS1 is in Paris. He's staying at DS2's place tonight. He'll be here tomorrow. This week- hairdresser/Thurs - send next week's Zoom links/ThursThis weekend- Shitepile/Fri - PT appt/Fri - mark 8 (short) papers We got great vaccine news too! I emailed the doc I'm seeing on Sun (whose second appt disappeared in the 20 seconds it took to make mine). He said to bring DH, he'll vaccinate both of us. I'm trying not to get too excited because it doesn't feel real yet. He's an ophthalmologist 30 min away, we don't know him. As of today here, any doctor can give the AZ vaccine in their practice. Per my friend E who is a nurse, few doctors have ordered it. Those who have usually schedule appts on Sundays because a) they're busy the rest of the week and b) they get paid extra for Sundays (which is fine by me!) I put my back out, I don't know how. It happens very rarely, but I don't want to take any meds before the vaccine, so I made an appt with the physio.

Thank you TheO. That's another reason we want to get the vaccine ASAP! This weekend- PT appt/Fri - pharmacy/Fri- Shitepile/Sat - mark 8 papers My back is better but still not great. I have another PT appt next week. Laundry and dishes all caught up. DS1 is here. I absolutely need to do either marking or Shitepile tomorrow (ideally both). Everyone is telling us that we will be useless on Sunday after our vaccines.

I must be crazy.
It’s the first nice weekend in a month and I’ve got the wood and screws and new screw driver to build the garden beds and I’m rearranging furniture in the living room.
Granted, it’s a good project for the inevitable rain we will get but also kinda silly. I have so much crap from my office to put away and more electrical outlets to replace.
I hope to stay in all weekend and work on house projects.

I have so many other things I could be doing but nope. Move furniture it is!

I’m about halfway done with the furniture moving, in part because I’m taking the time to wash my China before it goes back into the cabinet plus steam clean the floors.
Making good progress on my weekend list thus far and will start on the outdoor projects when it warms up a little more.
