Might have to revisit in a few months, to see the progress on this. I'm definitely curious if anything will actually come up. Interesting endgame to the Jan 6 bomb, to say the least. Man-bear-pig pled guilty to a felony. The deal is 41-51 months in prison. Paul Hodgkins also pled guilty to a felony. I don't know anything about the criminal justice system - but it is possible that the Q-Anon Shaman guy got away from his family and had some peaceful moments to examine himself. It sounds like he is changing - although I can't imagine anyone spending time in prison would be unchanged.

They believed trump would pardon him once trump was reinstalled as POTUS last month.

That doesn't sound right, but it was something along those lines. Edit - obstruction of an official proceeding

I was just stating a fact Oh, I read your post as it was written. It said "something along those lines", so I didn't know what lines you meant. Was the possible different lines like possible different facts ? Don't you hate it when others do a lazy job when you ask them to do your research?

Don't you hate it when others do a lazy job when you ask them to do your research? I don't have any research. Nor did I ask her to do anything. Just waiting for serious charges to be filed. Not just stuff related to a simple protest. Hasn't happened yet. She took your asking the question at face value and provided a general answer.

Was the possible different lines like possible different facts ? I couldn't remember the exact wording of the charge- but I knew it something about stopping congress from doing their job. I took a guess at the words, but didn't want to get in a passing match with someone if I hadn't said the exact words - so I qualified it by saying I did not remember the exact charges but it was something along the same lines as interrupting the congressional session. After I posted it, I got curious and looked it up and then posted the exact wording. I should have known that you would come back and declare that the felony charges that they pled to was not enough to satisfy you. But the fact is two people declared themselves guilty of interrupting congress. I only copied your post because I wanted to bring the thread back to the court proceedings. I have regrets - but not posting the facts that those guy halted a congressional session in a criminal way.

Yes, I took it that way also. Sounds good. Looks like it's back to waiting for any charges on insurrection, sedition, seditious behavior. Haven't seen any charges yet that weren't low level, as would be expected for a protest. Protests are legal in this country and therefore no charges would be expected if it were simply that.

What is significant was which proceeding was halted.

What is significant was which proceeding was halted. Sounds good. Why don't the charges reflect that ? An answer from me would be pure speculation on my part. My degree is in political science and not law.

An answer from me would be pure speculation on my part. My degree is in political science and not law. I do not have a law degree either, but I have had to spend way to much time in court during the time I was working. Part of my stance on discovery, on another thread. It's actually simple from almost any viewpoint, lay or degreed, there has to be evidence. The arguments from a few months back are now showing their lack, it was mostly "we don't know what prosecutors are planning" or " justice moves slowly" or "you're just worried because your a trumpster". As it infuriates some who think you need to take a side, I don't on this, if there is evidence, charge/convict and send them to prison. Yes, picking a side in the legal proceedings isn't something I would do either.

New conspiracy theory I discovered in the comments section of an AP article on how the GOP is trying to spin the 1/6 terrorists as political prisoners and patriots.
Pelosi went secretly to the FBI to recruit instigators in the crowd of peacefully protesting patriots whose only intention was to convince Pence to refuse to certify Biden as president until the corrupt election could be properly investigated and Trump declared the winner.
Now, Pelosi has a committee for investigating only the violent part of 1/6, and refusing to investigate her own nefarious collusion with the military and the capital police to create a ‘riot show’ which is the excuse to bar Trump from social media and politics. The second impeachment she rushed through was similarly designed to get Trump banned. This Riot Show not only hurt and killed people, it seriously undermined the US constitution and democratic spirit! She must resign and be investigated! LOCK HER UP!
I’m in awe of how limber the MAGA brains are. That takes some serious mental gymnastics.
I also wish the all powerful Democratic women like AOC and Clinton and Pelosi would use their awesome wizard powers to stop climate change or fix the health care system, because they’ve got some serious supernatural abilities.

Saturday should be interesting. Capitol rally seeks to rewrite Jan. 6 by exalting rioters
WASHINGTON (AP) — First, some blamed the deadly Jan. 6 attack at the U.S. Capitol on left-wing Antifa antagonists, a theory quickly debunked. Then came comparisons of the rioters to peaceful protesters or even tourists. Now, allies of former President Donald Trump are calling those charged in the Capitol riot “political prisoners,” a stunning effort to revise the narrative of that deadly day. The brazen rhetoric ahead of a rally planned for Saturday at the Capitol is the latest attempt to explain away the horrific assault and obscure what played out for all the world to see: rioters loyal to the then-president storming the building, battling police and trying to stop Congress from certifying the election of Democrat Joe Biden. “Some people are calling it Jan. 6 trutherism — they’re rewriting the narrative to make it seem like Jan. 6 was no big deal, and it was a damn big deal, and an attack on our democracy,” said Heidi Beirich, co-founder of the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism, who studies extremist movements. Billboard recently put up in Georgia. Bless the person's heart who worships the Anti-Christ. I don't believe in an afterlife. But when I see things like this - I really hope there is one, and Trump really is the anti-Christ and anyone who joined his cult burns in hell for all of eternity. I will also burn in hell for not believing or whatever. I am sure I will see the errors of my ways when I get there.

I suppose it still might be possible for trump to look even worse than he already does in the State's and around the world. Trump thinks the Sept. 18 rally in support of Capitol riot suspects is a setup designed to make him look bad, report says
Former President Donald Trump is staying away from the September 18 Washington, DC, rally in support of Capitol riot suspects because he thinks its a set-up to damage his reputation, sources told The New York Times. Trump has in the past spoken in support of his fans who attacked the US Capitol on January 6 in a bid to stop Joe Biden's certification as president. But sources told The Times that he won't be going anywhere near Washington on Saturday, and will instead spend the day at his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey. "Mr. Trump views the planned protest as a setup that the news media will use against him regardless of the outcome," the Times reported, citing people familiar with his thinking. Who pulled the rally permits for this thing? Wouldn't that be helpful in determining who's running it? Who is the target audience for this rally? I was able to read the linked article. it answered my questions. The rally is for trump's supporters who are "very fine people". Since trump and Qanon are outspokenly avoiding it - does that mean very few people will show up for it? (maybe just family/friends of those arrested? I can see where they might have a vested interested in showing support for their loved ones (even if it is misguided).

I saw a video of the guy who organized it but can’t remember which group he was with. It’s supposed to be a rally to support freeing all the political prisoners who are sitting in jail waiting for trails in the 1/6 terrorist event. He was bragging about how several congresspeople will come speak at the event, interesting to see if any still show.
