"Would anybody have marched on the Capitol, and tried to overrun the Capitol, without the president's speech? I think it's pretty much definitive that wouldn't have happened," Miller said while speaking with Vice on Showtime.
Miller served as Trump's final Defense chief, filling the top Pentagon post from November until Trump left office in January. Miller previously headed up the National Counterterrorism Center last year.
The former Defense chief told Vice that he wasn't sure whether Trump was aware of how consequential his speech would be, but said he believed there was a "cause-and-effect" relationship between the speech and riot.

Julian Elie Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania, and George Pierre Tanios, 39, of West Virginia, are alleged to have worked together to spray police, including Sicknick, with a toxic chemical spray during the Capitol riot. Khater called what was in the cannister "bear sh*t," according to court records, but the Justice Department on Monday said the spray is unknown.

I heard there is something inconsistent about the cause of death. We have been told he was beat with a fire extinguisher, but I'm not sure that was accurate. If bear spray wouldn't normally kill someone, it might not be "murder" - maybe manslaughter or something??

The court just released two videos debunking Chansley’s claim.

The two compelling videos document the chaos on the scene as rioters smashed through the windows of the U.S. Capitol building.

Senior Judge Royce Lamberth, a Ronald Reagan appointee, narrated what the footage showed.

“Not only is defendant unable to offer evidence substantiating his claim that he was waved into the Capitol, but evidence submitted by the government proves this claim false. A video submitted by the government captures rioters breaking through the windows of the Capitol building,” Lamberth wrote in a scathing 32-page opinion on March 8. “At the same moment that rioters smash the glass and crawl through the windows, the video pans over to show a large group of rioters walking through an adjacent doorway into the Capitol building. Of those 400 cases, the majority of those, 80, 85%, maybe even 90, you have individuals, both inside and outside the Capitol, that breached the Capitol, trespassed. You also have individuals, roughly over 100, that we've charged with assaulting federal officers and local police officers. The 10% of the cases, I'll call the more complex conspiracy cases where we do have evidence, it's in the public record where individual militia groups from different facets: Oath Keepers, Three Percenters, Proud Boys, did have a plan. We don't know what the full plan is, to come to D.C., organize, and breach the Capitol in some manner.

I'm sorry to hear that. My family wants to get Christianity into schools and wants vouchers available for church-run schools. They think we all look "dumb" wearing masks and unions are from the devil. But at least they aren't brave enough or gritty enough to take up arms.

My SIL was one of those ‘it’s my right not to wear a mask’ and ‘it’s a hoax’ people until she caught it. Suddenly she’s become a believer.

A West Virginia man accused of assaulting Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, who died after the Jan. 6 riot, was ordered jailed pending trial after a contentious court hearing where prosecutors presented video clips showing the officer and two other colleagues being doused with chemical spray and struggling to recover.

Describing the video as "surreal" U.S. Magistrate Michael Aloi said that he was "very satisfied with the government's evidence" against George Pierre Tanios, a 39-year-old restaurant owner from Morgantown.

Tanios, who is charged with Julian Elie Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania, faces decades in prison if convicted on 10 criminal counts, including conspiring with Khater to attack officers with chemical repellent during the deadly siege. Neither suspect is charged with Sicknick's death.

Does anyone know what happened to that poor cop who got his head stuck in the doorway while the terrorists beat him? I worry about that guy. He’s got to have serious PTSD. I get nauseous just watching it. And knowing his fellow citizens were the ones doing that to him....

There are literally thousands of hours of video showing this is a complete lie. The guards did not wave the terrorists into the building. The terrorists did a significant amount of damage to the property, and the guards. It’s all there, captured on film. 

Trump has attained a level of snake oil salesman that I didn’t think was possible - telling people what they see with their own eyes is completely false. The gullibility of the Trump toady is extraordinary.

My guess is he's pandering to the people arrested and their supporters. He did not believe what he is saying enough to actually pardon them, but apparently now is a good time for him to get his public planned lie out there.

I cannot answer your question regarding the PTSD. But he has done interviews since the attempted coup.
