Article on cnn suggested that impeachment would remove his power to pardon others, at least those involved with the impeachment crimes. Anyone know if that’s true? I’ve also wondered whether that’s part of the reasoning behind the slowness to charge people with crimes, because either he can’t preemptively pardon people or he needs to be able to specify the names rather than issuing a blanket pardon (any of which would go over like a lead balloon...about which he cares not at all.) hoping that is true!! getre done Nancy!

The question I’m asking today is, How much did Mitch know just before his opening speech?
He knew about the rally, certainly. He probably had a good idea of the level of organization and number of threats of violence. Did he know that Trump refused to call in the National Guard to defend the Capitol? Did he know that the Capitol Police had no specific plan to deal with the insurrectionists, beyond holding the door open for them? How much of this was a surprise, and how much did he expect?
Having watched the speech, and the apparent emotion...I don’t think that’s just about the electoral vote. I think he had an inkling of the broad shape of the train wreck.

Also, DeVos is claiming that she resigned after it became clear that Pence wasn’t going to invoke the 25th. There could even be some truth to that. Either way she was a crap education secretary. Loved Elizabeth Warren’s tweet about that. Also I think DC should fine every friggin person they can identify for failure to wear a mask

I hated her as a SOE, but she completely called out Trump for Wednesday in her statement, so I do give her credit for that. That is what we need-- all the shitheads calling it like it is.

Amazing that none of the people arrested so far are antifa, given that all the Trump minions I know are insisting Trump supporters would never behave so badly, so all these awful people must be evil plants.

Well they wouldn't tell law enforcement that they are Antifa. That would blow their cover! Soon you will see mysterious deaths. It'll be all the antifa people taking cyanide pills before they can be tortured into revealing themselves.

www.cnn.com/2021/01/10/politics/jason-crow-army-inauguration/index.html1 - I haven't seen any terrorism charges in the cases I've look at. disorderly conduct, enter restricted place, those kinds of charges. Has anyone seen charges of terrorism reported? 2 - while initially just looking clueless, could this have been far more sinister? Was trump deliberately trying to gain acquiescence while they were under duress, fearing for their lives even? And if that was the case, was this deliberately coordinated to put that pressure on them?

Duh - as soon as the police find out they are antifa, they are let go. Because the people involved in this conspiracy includes everyone on the fucking planet. Except a few people who really know.

‘QAnon Congresswoman’ Lauren Boebert faces calls to resign after tweeting information about Nancy Pelosi during Capitol riotRep. Lauren Boebert is facing calls for her resignation after tweeting out information about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the attack on the US Capitol that left five dead. Ms Boebert - who also said she would carry her firearm to Congress - tweeted details of the lockdown on the day of the insurrection at the US Capitol carried out by supporters of Donald Trump. She first shared that the lawmakers had been moved to the House chambers. Then, she tweeted out the "Speaker has been removed from the chambers." While Ms Boebert did not provide specific details on Ms Peolosi's location, critics allege she was attempting to aid the rioters who were searching for her. In video from the attack, some rioters can be heard yelling that they were "coming for" Ms Pelosi. The Independent has reached out to her office for comment. Ms Boebert has been called the "QAnon Congresswoman" for saying she hopes the baseless conspiracy theory - alleging a demonic global paedophile ring that includes the majority of US Democratic politicians and features secret executions, clones and a mass, apocalyptic reckoning called "The Storm" - is "real." your@email.com Please enter your email addressPlease enter a valid email addressPlease enter a valid email address The Independent would like to keep you informed about offers, events and updates by email, please tick the box if you would like to be contacted Read our full mailing list consent terms here She has said she is not a QAnon follower, but said she was glad that the US Attorney General was investigating "deep state" activities. She is the second QAnon-adjacent lawmaker elected to Congress. Rep Marjorie Taylor Green is also a follower of the conspiracy theory. Protesters rallied at Ms Boebert's offices in Colorado on Monday calling for her resignation. Rural Colorado United, an activist group organising the protests, called Ms Boebert "unfit" to serve Coloradans. "Lauren Boebert has betrayed the American people and is a conspirator in the insurrection that occurred at Capitol Hill on January 6th," the group wrote in a press release. "As the citizens she represents in Congress, we cannot recall her and we cannot impeach her, but we do not accept that she is fit to represent the people of Colorado District 3 in Congress. We can only hope that her colleagues in Congress expel her." Complete article here: link

I really worry that biden is going to gloss over things and try to get to unity and that it will be something that in retrospect was a terrible decision. I hope I am wrong - about both parts.
