So when he says he thinks he ‘would have been well received’ if he’d gone to the capital once his minions got there and started busting up the place - does he mean his minions would have calmed down and dispersed quietly? Or does he think if he showed up, Congress would have greeted him like a hero and gladly thrown out the electoral totals and crowned him king? I think he believes the second scenario, because he’s a narcissistic lunatic.

when he says he "could have stopped the problem", does he mean Democracy? Remember this is a Trump technique. He will not tell you because he wants you to draw the conclusion he will solve it in the manner you would approve of.

Sovereign citizens are something else. I occasionally watch on YouTube videos of sovereign citizens being stopped by their local police for operating a vehicle violations. The sovereign citizens waste the time of law enforcement officers and test the patience of the officers too. It is always a pleasure to see the officers say 'Times up' and break the vehicle window(s) of the sovereign citizen and drag his/her sorry ass out of the vehicle and straight into handcuffs.

Donald Trump Wants Jan. 6 Police to Be Charged for Fighting RiotersDonald Trump has shared a post on his Truth Social website, calling for Capitol Police officers who "beat the hell out of innocent J6 [January 6] protesters" to face criminal charges. On January 6, 2021, hundreds of Trump supporters stormed Congress in a bid to prevent Joe Biden's 2020 presidential election victory from being certified. Police were attacked with sticks, metal fencing and chemical spray, leaving over 100 officers injured. Ashli Babbitt, a 35-year-old Trump supporter and Air Force veteran, was shot dead by law enforcement. Brian Sicknick, a Capitol Police officer who collapsed after being assaulted on January 6, died the following day, though a Washington D.C. medical examiner later attributed his death to natural causes. In September, the District of Columbia's attorney's office said 1,146 people have been charged for their involvement in the January 6 unrest, of whom 378 had been convicted and imprisoned. Newsweek has contacted the United States Capitol Police for comment via email, telephone and voicemail message. The post Trump shared was originally made on X, formerly Twitter, by the official account of the Hodge Twins. They are a pair of Trump-supporting comedians and political commentators with over 2.3 million followers on the platform. They shared a 56-second clip that showed police using batons and chemical spray against protesters who were trying to force their way into the Capitol Hill complex. The post added: "The Capitol cops beat the hell out of innocent J6 protesters, and the videos are finally coming out. "The cops should be charged and the protesters should be freed. This is why the uniparty didn't want the videos released." Trump, who has posted on X only once since being restored to the platform following the Elon Musk takeover in 2022, shared a screenshot of the message on his Truth Social account, along with a link to the original post. The former president, and 2024 Republican frontrunner, has repeatedly said he will pardon those imprisoned in relation to the January 6 attack if reelected to the White House. Speaking at a rally in Houston, Texas, on November 2, Trump described those incarcerated after the January 6 riot as "hostages, not prisoners." It came after organizers played "Justice for All." It is a rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" by the J6 Prison Choir, made up of men imprisoned after the riot, interspersed with Trump reciting the pledge of allegiance. I thought it was just normal tourist behavior at the capitol that day. Why would they need to have their faces blurred out? Are they or the republicans ashamed of their actions?

Beginning to wonder what Johnson himself is doing on those tapes. He allegedly is one of the architects of J6, planning what Trump should do, rallying the MAGAs, etc.

Yet if they had been black Trump would be blasting the Capitol police for not using deadly force. I still maintain they should have shot them all. I am normally against deadly force but IMO if the Secret Service can shoot to kill to protect the president then the Capitol police should have been able to do the same to protect themselves and Congress. Every last one of them deserved to win the stupid prize.

Piles of dead bodies would have been an excellent reason/excuse for Trump to have declared martial law.

I guess I can post Rudi news here. NYT article. Paywall for most. Giuliani Concedes He Made False Statements About Georgia Election WorkersRudolph W. Giuliani said he still had “legal defenses” in a case brought by two election workers who said he had defamed them as he asserted that the 2020 election was marred by fraud. Rudolph W. Giuliani has conceded that while acting as a lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump, he made false statements by asserting that two Georgia election workers had mishandled ballots while counting votes in Atlanta during the 2020 election. The concession by Mr. Giuliani came in court papers filed on Tuesday night as part of a defamation lawsuit that the two workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, had brought against him in Federal District Court in Washington in December 2021. The suit accused Mr. Giuliani and others of promoting a video that purported to show Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss — who are mother and daughter — of manipulating ballots while working at the State Farm Arena for the Fulton County Board of Elections. In a two-page declaration, Mr. Giuliani acknowledged that he had in fact made the statements about Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss that led to the filing of the suit and that the remarks “carry meaning that is defamatory per se.” He also admitted that his statements were “actionable” and “false” and that he no longer disputed the “factual elements of liability” the election workers had raised in their suit. But Mr. Giuliani, insisting that he still had “legal defenses” in the case, said that he continued to believe his accusations about Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss were “constitutionally protected” under the First Amendment. He also refused to acknowledge that his statements had caused the women any damage — a key element required to collect a judgment in a defamation case. Rest of article here: Giuliani Concedes He Made False Statements About Georgia Election Workers Rudy Giuliani hit with $148M verdict for defaming two Georgia election workersWASHINGTON — Rudy Giuliani should pay a pair of Georgia election workers he repeatedly and falsely accused of fraud $148 million in damages, a federal jury said Friday. The eight-person jury awarded Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, the sum after a four-day trial, during which they testified that Giuliani’s lies in support of former President Donald Trump’s bogus stolen-election claims subjected them to a torrent of racist and violent threats and turned their lives upside down. $100M punitive? LOL!!!! love it. I don't think it is punitive. Started a separate thread on it. Of the judgement only about $24 mil each will go to the poll workers. Then there will be taxes plus all their sunk costs of moving, hiring lawyers, and perhaps protection? The law firm will get the lion's share of this, however many people in that firm would have done massive research in order to win this judgment.

A quarter of Americans believe FBI instigated Jan. 6, Post-UMD poll findsMore than 3 in 10 Republicans have adopted the falsehood that the FBI conspired to cause the Capitol riot Twenty-five percent of Americans say it is “probably” or “definitely” true that the FBI instigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, a false concept promoted by right-wing media and repeatedly denied by federal law enforcement, according to a new Washington Post-University of Maryland poll. The Post-UMD poll finds a smaller 11 percent of the public overall thinks there is “solid evidence” that FBI operatives organized and encouraged the attack, while 13 percent say this is their “suspicion only.” Among Republicans, 34 percent say the FBI organized and encouraged the insurrection, compared with 30 percent of independents and 13 percent of Democrats. The results confirm that misinformation about Jan. 6 is widespread as the United States heads into a presidential election year, during a campaign in which the former president and leading 2024 Republican candidate Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed support for those who participated in the insurrection. Despite a detailed congressional investigation and more than 725 completed federal prosecutions of Jan. 6 participants that did not yield evidence of FBI involvement, a substantial minority of Americans still embrace conspiracy theories not unlike the ones that drove many rioters to storm the Capitol three years ago. Rest of article here: A quarter of Americans believe FBI instigated Jan. 6, Post-UMD poll finds
