Very anxious that he's going to win another 4 years. Trying to distract myself.

Trying to forget that it's election day, and I probably could if I stayed off social media. The big challenge for me will be tonight when polls close.
If I think too much about a certain person winning (cheating), I'm filled with dread that it will kill our democracy, and that is not hyperbole. That's simply from a logical examination of the trends.

This time tomorrow we should have a pretty definitive answer to whether America will get another chance to be decent and civilized again or whether America is circling the drain faster than in the past four years, even though all the counting won't be done.
One minute I think *we* can't lose; the next I think *we* can't win.
trump called out SCOTUS last night and also predicted violence in the streets. In the case of more to be pitied than censured, I'm going with censured. Drummed out of the corps. Sent into exile in disgrace along with the horse(s) he rode in on.

I should be working, but I can't concentrate. And it is just going to get worse as the day goes on. I have 2 hours of client meetings so I have to at least get it together for that plus prep for whatever I need for tomorrow's meetings, but I really just don't feel it. I almost took the day off for voting, but thought after I voted last friday I didn't want to waste a day of PTO. And I guess in the long run I'd be better off to focus on work.

I really, truly, honestly, sincerely hope we don't get up tomorrow morning to news that there's no way that Biden can win. Canada might be more to my liking in that case. They might take me in consideration of my illustrious Canadian ancestors and seeing that I have income to support myself.

There’s always the fear of the unknown or the “what if’s”. However I have faith in the process and the American people in general. The constant media hype drives all of us into a frenzy, often for no reason.
I’m going to sit back, go about my normal day, then sit on the couch with a nice bottle of bourbon and watch the votes roll in.

I'm not expecting a sure answer in the next 24 hours and no matter what the outcome it will be contentious and may take time to resolve. A massive number of people have voted early (I was one) and it may take awhile to count and verify.
Tonight the seminary where I'm taking classes is having an Zoom prayer service focused on the election. I'll be on it- no matter what side anyone is on, if they believe in prayer (and I know many don't) they can agree we need prayer. It's just ugly out there.

I'm very anxious too. My big fear is that the pollsters have it wrong; not because they conducted their polls incorrectly but because people lied. I can easily imagine a scenario where individuals will say publicly that they are disgusted by the administration but in the privacy of casting their vote will choose Trump.

My vote in Tennessee for president and U.S. senator will not help either win in this state.
My vote for my U.S.House of Representative will help with his usual landslide win.
I suppose I could have skipped voting this election year. But I consider my votes a form of protest as to the direction the country might take if the president is reelected for a second term.

I just can't wrap my head around the idea that it's even close. It lowers my opinion of humanity in general.

Im dreading the results of we have another 4 years of this. I have at-risk, non-white, female, and LGBTQ kids. PLEASE give them a chance to be safe and successful!
We are having tacos and drinking. Because, Gramma wanted a taco truck on every corner 4 years ago. Tacos are now our family's go-to for rebellion 🤣

I'll be on it- no matter what side anyone is on, if they believe in prayer (and I know many don't) they can agree we need prayer. It's just ugly out there. I have always believed in prayer, but my faith is strongly shaken. I do not understand why Christians back Trump so unquestioningly and elevate him up on a pedestal. I can find practically nothing to like about the man. I don't see myself ever retuning to organized religion. I feel like these are the people that would have supported Hitler, and we are not out of the woods yet. If Trump wins, I have no doubt he will seek revenge on those who did not support him. The way he is acting and talking, alarm bells should be ringing left and right in people's minds, yet all the people that voted for him in the last election, still seem to be supporting him again. I hope I am wrong. I just don't know. Speaking of which, I was reading an article about Trump campaign manager Jason Miller and his baby with a campaign worker from the last election. It said he is being paid from 2 sources but they are paying him as a "consultant" to hide his income so he can duck out of child support. They said he is only paying $500/month child support b/c he claims no income/very little income. He is being paid 27,000-60,000 a month from what the article below claims are illegal agreements (should be paid by the campaign). I think it indicates the organizations paying him are controlled by Steve Bannon and Bill Siepen. How is aiding someone from Ducking out of their child support obligations and Endorsement of "Family Values". We seem to know many people that have children born inside of a marriage and outside of a marriage. All the children are acknowledged, supported and spend time with both their parents. I just don't get why this is not a deal breaker. www.salon.com/2020/11/03/trumps-top-campaign-strategist-jason-miller-is-hiding-payments-from-steve-bannon/This is another case where I would like to see his tax returns. How can income like that be hidden? He has to be getting 1099's right? Do Trump's friends and family just not get audited, because the IRS reports to Trump?

I'm not too concerned about it either way. Turnout numbers are probably going to be insane and I'm assuming that's good news for Biden, but who knows. I'm expecting Biden to win, but the outcome won't surprise me either way. I don't really like either candidate.
There are a lot of silent Trump voters out there though. For me there is just a huge difference between what you see on Facebook/Twitter/MSG boards vs. what you see in the real world.
We'll see though.

Sitting in the back seat of the rolling caravans? Most trump supporters I know what STFU about him.

I’m both excited and anxious. My work gives us Election Day off which is both a blessing and a curse. I’m trying to immerse myself in mindless tv right now, then we’ll tune in later tonight to watch the results start to roll in.
We’ll likely get take out to go with whatever adult beverages we decide on. We have ALL the desserts and sweets right now, so I’ll be indulging in multiple vices tonight!

There may be a few that realized supporting makes themselves look like racists, but all the Trumpets I know are obnoxious and loud about it. Like the pickup trucks driving around flying large Trump and US flags off their tailgates.

I'm going to do busy work to keep my head from exploding. Then we will have cheese and crackers with alcohol and leftover Halloween candy before we go to bed at our usual time, praying that we are spared violence in our city. The clerk at Aldi this morning told me that many customers have said they are stocking up so they can hunker down.
We have decided to leave our political signs up overnight, although we could be targeted for that. I've decided that I am tired of being afraid, of being intimidated.
I don't think we will have a final answer for some days or perhaps weeks, because so much litigation will have to make its way through the judicial system.

I never put my signs in my yard. I hung them in my living room. I don't trust the people of this town to leave them alone.
Having a difficult time concentrating and am concerned for the health of poll workers given the anti-mask sentiment here.
All the Trump people I know are very loud about their support.
