I don't either (I should be doing other stuff, like cleaning), however, I have been watching Reign and I think I am about half way through the series. It has been pretty good.

Thanks. We just finished umbrella academy, so we're looking at new shows again, so we'll check these out. There was also a preview for a movie that looked good. E-(something) Holmes. A female version of Sherlock Holmes, perhaps? Enola Holmes (younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft). I watched it this weekend with my 12 year old. I enjoyed it a lot but there was a surprising amount of quite graphic violence. My 8 year old walked in during the final fight and looked horrified so I told her to come back in a few minutes, which she did. Thanks. We usually watch late, around 10 pm, so the kids are already in bed. That does remind me that we were going to watch Cobra Kai with them. Forgot all about it. Started watching Schitts Creek last night. The first episode was clunky and badly acted, but funny enough to continue. The subsequent episodes were much better. I think the cast started gelling, and got into a better rhythm. The pacing is still a little slow, and reminds me of the office a bit, but I never really liked the office, and I am liking this so far.

I stumbled on "Dirty John" the other day on Netflix. Since I dated a guy who had a similar psychiatry it's kinda odd to watch but really good. I didn't realize it was based on a true story when I started watching it.
"Away" with Hilary Swank was great.
"Rita" and its spin-off "Hjordis" are also fantastic.

If anyone doesn't subscribe to Netflix, the CW channel started running Schitt's Creek last night.

So, we watched the first 2/3 of Enola Holmes. I hadn't realized that was 11! (Mille Bobby Brown) I like it, but it was boring my husband a bit.

Her decision making skills were not good!

The "Dirty John" podcast is really good. In the series they do a good job of showing how she got pulled back in to the relationship but listening to the podcast I spent a lot of time yelling "what's wrong with you". Her decision making skills were not good! True narcissists and sociopaths are very good at what they do. They start by "love bombing" you into believing they love you and want nothing more than to be with you. They make friends with all of your friends and family. They act like a "great guy" in public. They constantly do things to test boundaries to see exactly how far they can push you. Once they think you love them, then they turn and become the freaks they really are. And, it's very, very hard for our logical brains to understand how they aren't the person they had originally portrayed. And, believing they are can get us killed. They don't think like normal people and it's very hard for us to wrap our brains around that and understand how they can be so uncaring and abusive to someone they claimed to love. In my situation, I had two relationships with sociopaths. One was a narcissist. One was sadistic. The sadist became abusive. I broke up with him. When he kept threatening to blow up my house or kill me and my sons, I reported him to law enforcement. The narcissist I'd had an online "friendship" with for a few years. When I met him in person I discovered nothing he had ever told me was true. I very much loved him but walked away. It was very, very hard for me for a long time to try and resolve in my own mind that the person I thought I was talking to didn't exist. The above and my ability to attract sociopaths has left me with a very strong resolve to stay single and enjoy my life.

I started watching Evil a couple of days ago (CBS show now on Netflix). I really enjoy it because the show has a couple of skeptics teamed up with a representative of the Catholic church, and they investigate "demonic possessions" and other "strange phenomenon." I like it because they generally find logical and/or scientific answers to most of the cases. I really enjoy the fact that it doesn't reinforce a lot of superstition and rubbish like many shows do. They may not crack every case with logic but they are always seeking logical answers.

Her daughter certainly called it though...she wasn't buying into any of his crap (though the daughter was a bit of a nightmare herself).

Debra is definitely a nice person but her life choices as an adult are very suspect and not just about Dirty John. Her childhood was certainly odd with a very kind and deeply religious mother who actually testified on behalf of her son-in-law after he murdered her daughter. She was unhappy and wanted to leave so he just 'snapped' and needed kindness and forgiveness .

I must be on a space series mode. Now watching "Mars" on Netflix. It's a combination of real time video (2016 - 18 mostly from SpaceX) to drama placed in 2033 on a first mission to Mars. Very interesting.

I watched "Mars" when it was on the Discovery (?) channel. I enjoyed it tremendously. I thought it was coming back for another season? I think I watched two seasons and haven't seen notice of a third.

The Great British Baking Show is back with new episodes, so DH and have watched the two new ones in between watching Designated Survivor. We've also gone through all episodes of Sugar Rush.
I've started Ratched and it looks very promising - any show with a star from AHS will draw me in, and Sarah Paulson is an amazing actress. I'm 50+ but Emily in Paris is a cute show that I've been binging on as well.
American Murder: The Family Next Door was very difficult to watch until the end; it was a very powerful and moving story of Shannan Watts and her struggles with the husband who ultimately killed her and their two children, plus their unborn son. Cried watching her devastated parents and brother trying to come to terms with their unspeakable loss. Also found out that he is incarcerated in Waupun, WI - which is about 25 minutes from our former home. I keep forgetting that WI is full of maximum security prisons!

I've started Cobra Kai on a number of recommendations and am enjoying it so far. The acting was questionable at the beginning but has improved over time. Karate Kid is a great movie, and I don't think Cobra Kai is doing it a disservice.

On the podcast, they interviewed the daughter (I won’t spoil what she did at the end, but she’s my hero). She has such a sweet, girly voice, which you don’t expect to be paired with such badassery. She said she learned what to do from the walking dead. 😀

I don’t know if there are horror fans here, but if anyone watched the series The Haunting if Hill House, Netflix just released The Haunting of ably Manor by the same director, and it’s very good.
Horror is a big pool and I’m a snob about it - I like well done and creepy, not cheep slasher gore with pretty teen girls running from monsters.
There are some complaints that Bly is slow and has no gore or slaughter, but that’s why I like it. You have to pay attention to see the creepy stuff. For example in the first episode, two characters are having a conversation in the outdoors. In the burry background behind one character you sometimes see a tree maybe twenty feet behind him, in other shots it’s not there. If you look closely, it’s not a tree, but a man in a brown overcoat, standing motionless, shown from the neck down. One of the ghosts. Creepy.
It’s based on The Turn of the Screw, which has been made into movies many times, but this may be one of the better versions.

Are those limited, one season stories? Or will they be ongoing? happyhoixThe Haunting of Hill House was advertised as season one, but there isn’t a season two. The Haunting of Bly Mansion is one season if shows, with no story connection to Hill House but with the same director and some of the same cast. To me it’s like the American Horror Story franchise with each season being a totally different story arc. So far both seasons have been loosely based on horror novels, so maybe that will continue.

OMG, YES - I actually started watching all the outside shots for it - and it's in a LOT of the scenes. Sometimes front and center in the back, where you figure it's just background, and then realize that it's the figure of a man, sometimes not so easy to see. Wonderfully done. Now I need to go back and watch the Haunting of Hill House.

I'm also around episode 7 or 8, trying to drag it out a bit because I don't want it to end . I had a feeling early on that it was going to be similar to The Others with Nicole Kidman...at least some aspects of it. That one I figured out the twist early on - this one has kept me guessing! Finished Emily in Paris, really looking forward to that one coming back next year too.

Will have to go back and look closer. Most are in the house, in shadows.

We finished Schitts Creek last night. It was a pleasant/easy watch. Not my favorite, but I enjoyed it. The last episode was laugh out loud funny, but otherwise the laughs were sporadic. I was disappointed by Alexis's denouement. It seemed like the last season or so was focused too much on David. Speaking of, I was looking for the length of his pants in his tux, and I was not disappointed. For someone who has great decorating style, his clothing style leaves a lot to be desired.
Now moving on to the next binge...
