I really should just drop insurance entirely on my van that's broke down in the garage. I don't know why I keep paying that. Is there only one other vehicle? Is son on your policy? If so dropping it might save money as he is considered not to have constant access to a vehicle and only counts as a secondary driver.

DS is rated on his car so it didn't change the cost on mine when I added him, but they're all old. I think I'm going to drop the newer van to liability only, but I need to consider unloading the old one which I've been dragging my feet on, at the very least I need to get those snow tires and new rims off of it.
2005 van - $240/6 months (the one I can't drive right now)
2007 van - $400/6 months
1997 car - $350/6 months

We received @$200 in checks yesterday. $90 was for DH and me and $98 was for ODS. YDS just bought his first car a couple of weeks ago, so no refund for him.

I got a $67 refund. Ours is $1,277.00 a year. That's full coverage for my 2018, hubs 2006, and the 1992 motorhome. The motorhome is like $300 or so. Hubs said if it has an damage would be totaled so get a few thousand out of it is all. But that's ok.
We went through a broker and have State Auto.

For May and Jun USAA took off about $25 each month. I'm still working and using my car but still a nice thing to do!

I got about a $9 increase on the July premium on a 2006 Corolla. To be fair, though, I was probably at their bottom for mileage since I am retired.

I've been getting discounted on Farmers and I just got an email from Allstate saying they would discount my insurance next month 15%.

I've been surprised by how many of you seem to pay monthly. There's a fee for that with Alfa as well as a smaller fee for paying quarterly. You only avoid it if you pay every six months. They don't allow annual payments. Do your insurance companies charge more to pay monthly or quarterly? Mine does but since I pay with direct deposit from my checking account, it zeros that fee out.

If you call and tell them it is in the garage and not running, I think you can "suspend the insurance" without dropping it, and then you can preserve your discounts etc. I was just going to post the same thing. I've done it a few times. Saved me a ton of money! You just need to be sure you reinstate it, before you drive it again.
