I just got a $28.00 check "refund" on my car insurance. I pay the yearly full amount each year (to avoid the fees associated with monthly or quarterly payments).
It represents about 3.5% of the total. I guess it's nice.

Yep got mine the other day. Got notice it would be applied in the manner was paid. I expected it to show up as credit on CC since that is how I paid six month premium. But a check showed in mail. Due another one for May from what I understand.

It represents about 3.5% of the total. I guess it's nice. I got a check for 55$ and I think it said 4% of the annual premium. I had received an email last month that they will be giving back some money. Given the fact that we will not be going back to the office until September if not later, I wonder if we will get another check.

Liberty Mutual refunded $25 by direct deposit. My annual premium comes to about $160/month for my cars.

Yes we got a small refund, but then our semiannual fee increased by more than the refund. We still have to call to downgrade our insurance to lower miles, as we barely drive anywhere anymore.

What's a semi-annual fee? Is that for paying annual premiums in 2 six-month installments? I'm getting a credit against my next bill- similar magnitude to everyone else's. I think this is a great idea. Insurance rates are regulated by the states and rate change requests must be backed up by past history on the business. Clearly this year would have been atypical and might have indicated a decrease next year. It makes more sense to issue a premium refund now so that the experience for 2020 is comparable to other years (fewer losses but also fewer premiums after you subtract out refunds).

USAA has refunded 20% on 3 months of premiums so far. I got a little over $45 altogether. The first refund was 20% for 2 months, then as the stay-at-home orders continued, they added 20% for a third month. Mine took the form of a credit/deduction from my bill as it will be due in July.

$10 and change from Allstate. It represented 15% of 1 month's auto insurance.

Alfa feels that it has done its part by waiving late fees instead. That does nothing for those of us who aren't late and who in fact pay every six months on time.

In BC, you can contact ICBC if you qualify for a reduced rate.
I still work every other week so I still need work beyond 15 km & pleasure coverage.
DD hasn't worked since mid-March so she would have qualified. However, she didn't bother to ask after she qualified for CERB. She figured she could afford to pay it and she was hopeful that another job would turn up soon.
The dance studio is now definitely closed until September. As part of Phase 2, the Mall has reopened on reduced hours but she hasn't heard back from her boss if she still has a job there or not. She has dropped off her resume to a couple of places that have openings.

A piddling is supposed to be on its way. Plus renewals are supposed to be down? We’ll see.

I pay annually. I received a $10 credit on my CC because that is how I pay. There is supposed to be another credit for May. That will be slightly more because my premium increased.

Yes, I think that's how we pay it. That's always been the default with how we were billed. I have paid annually before, but that might have been my mom's.

$10 and change from Allstate. It represented 15% of 1 month's auto insurance. That is what many of the companies did. A percentage of the April premium refunded in May; another on the May premium to be refunded in June.
Most companies did this voluntarily. NJ has now mandated it for personal and business auto, and some kinds of commercial insurance.

Our insurance company, Erie, notified us we were getting a rebate. I wondered if anyone had heard from Erie. I have not received anything from them. I might call and check soon, since I have driven my car like 100 miles in 2.5 months...

I received two. USAA did two rounds of it. Each time, it was a credit on my account and made my upcoming month's payment less.
