Our insurance company, Erie, notified us we were getting a rebate. I wondered if anyone had heard from Erie. I have not received anything from them. I might call and check soon, since I have driven my car like 100 miles in 2.5 months... I'm with Erie and haven't received anything yet. I'm not holding my breath. I'll be surprised if they ever send anything.

I did. I'm on auto pay, so got a credit for two months. I need to get my car reclassified as "pleasure" use since I'm working from home. I'm not going back to mh office until I'm told that I have to.

Anyone get a rebate from State Farm (my insurance company)? I'm also with State Farm. But I haven't heard anything. You know, that good neighbor. 🙄

You know, that good neighbor. 🙄 A couple of hours ago there was a State Farm commercial on TV about them giving rebates. So a rebate of some sort is coming. I have seen the commercial several times before but didn't listen to it as I thought it was just another commercial how they are handling the virus within their company and keeping everyone healthy. DOH!

I got two checks from my insurance company on Friday. The accompanying letter said the amount was for 15% of two months premiums. Doing the math, that equals 2.5% of the annual premium. Actually, the good part for me was that I got to try out depositing checks via my USBank app on my iPhone. It was slick! I am so rarely going anywhere with my car now, it only makes sense to get a rebate on the insurance. I put gas in my car yesterday for the first time in 6 weeks. I had put 180 miles on the car in those 6 weeks.

American Family sent me a check in late April for $50/car on my policy, so $150. Not sure if they are doing a 2nd round

Mercury gave us a 15% refund for the first two months of the stay in place order by crediting the CC we pay from. The letter they sent explaining it said they'll give additional refunds if the stay in place orders are extended.

GEICO claims to be giving a 15% credit on 6 or 12 month policy terms. I think they lowered my next payment to adjust for it. Coolest thing was my insurance dropped $50 a month when I moved from CA to OR.

After saying I had not heard anything from Erie, today we got a check in the mail for $58. They said this represents about 30% of our premium for a two-month period or 5% of my annual premium.

Got my Erie check too... better than I thought it would be $112. I must have calculated wrong? But I also didn't think that was the multiplier I found online when I was looking.

We got two credits from USAA. The first was $90 and the second is $46. The first was on the May bill and the second will be on the June bill.

I've been surprised by how many of you seem to pay monthly. There's a fee for that with Alfa as well as a smaller fee for paying quarterly. You only avoid it if you pay every six months. They don't allow annual payments.
Do your insurance companies charge more to pay monthly or quarterly?

They don't allow annual payments. Do your insurance companies charge more to pay monthly or quarterly? Some do. They consider it like “financing”. It’s a pretty steep fee. I wish I could pay yearly but I’m held to six month renewals. But pay in full. I just put on CC, get rebate and pay Cc in full. Easy peezy.

It comes out of that checking account on the 6th.

Anyone get a rebate from State Farm (my insurance company)? No. I have an insurance that I am paying that isn't vehicle. I had to leave a message; and in that message, I asked about the discount. I haven't gotten a call back. I did have an accident last December. That probably booted us out. Plus we drove from AZ to North border. Edit: I don't know if it costs more to pay monthly. We pay semi-annually. I am so aggravated with paying them that I would gladly pay annually. Last Fall they called us on the day one of our vehicles was no longer going to be insured. Knowing we would have paid it. Our mail got messed up for a while.

I really should just drop insurance entirely on my van that's broke down in the garage. I don't know why I keep paying that.

I really should just drop insurance entirely on my van that's broke down in the garage. I don't know why I keep paying that. Because dropping a car might increase the rates on your other cars comparably? The Beast sat in the driveway undrivable from Jan to April. I told TD that he might want to look at dropping insurance on it until he got it fixed. I think that spurred him to deal with it. Damn clutch froze and it was a freaking 2 year old clutch. Juuuuust outside warranty. FWIW, racing clutches cost as much as a transmission in another car. (he could have bought a new, very nice car for what he has put into The Beast)

I received a check from Erie today for $38. It was 30% of of the premium for a two month period, or 5% annually. I have always paid them annually to get the cheapest rate.

I really should just drop insurance entirely on my van that's broke down in the garage. I don't know why I keep paying that. If you call and tell them it is in the garage and not running, I think you can "suspend the insurance" without dropping it, and then you can preserve your discounts etc.
