Can't I just do Pilsner Urqell and Heddy Topper and be done with it. No! This is penance not a negotiation. But I can give you some hints of some good Belgian bers If I must, punish me with your suggestions. I am sure I will just suffer through them

They are probably part of the great targeted RW. Its apparently not common knowledge that masks are not duct tape.

This is a nice summary of a new paper that looks at the T cell response, rather than just antibodies (which come from B cells and fade to very low but still protective levels as components of memory B cells not too many months after recovery). Also suggests that some people have natural immunity, likely due to unnoticed zoonotic coronavirus infection. The comments are also worth a read. blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/archives/2020/07/15/new-data-on-t-cells-and-the-coronavirusSummary: T cell responses can also protect you, can still protect original SARS patients even 17 years later, and aren’t as easy to measure as antibodies in the blood so everyone ignores them. Implication is that prior infection, hopefully also vaccination, will in fact prevent reinfection.

Also, the T cells frequently recognized the nucleocapsid protein rather than the spike protein everyone is aiming for-to the best of my knowledge that’s consistent with killer T cells targeting infected human cells to shut them down as virus factories, rather than attacking the virus directly. Just in case anyone cares I guess there’d also be helper T cells stimulating the B cells for antibodies too but we just hit the limit of my knowledge of immunology...

PA is taking a step back. Bars are closed unless they operate as a restaurant. All restaurants are back to 25% indoor capacity. I am glad Gov. Wolf is like "fuck your politics, I'm trying to save your dumb asses." The state was doing so good and everyone ruined it. Latest numbers show Montco is now the only county in SE PA that is seeing a trending decrease in numbers, I hope we can keep it up. So glad the chair of our county commissioners is an anesthesiologist/MPH. Glad to have some science guiding our response.

Arkansas is still reporting new cases of 800+ per day. Latest deaths were 6 or so per day. Some of the counties here have mandated the use of masks....our not so bright Governors latest comments on the use of masks was " We can do a mandate if we need to". How many people have to get sick and how many have to die.....please, someone ring his bell.
At least my county has started to decrease new cases.

I've been updating my state's statistics (Missouri) and am happy to say that the % positive rolling weekly average, which had spiked up to 10% a week ago, is now down to 8.8%. In other words, of the tests given in the last 7 days, 8.8% came back positive. We are not out of the woods and I'm still taking precautions but I'm encouraged. At least my county has started to decrease new cases. That's not a meaningful number without knowing how many tests you're doing.

I love how you put it: "fuck your politics, I'm trying to save your dumbasses." My governor is going through the same thing. My side of the state tends to be red (besides for my county), so our area is surging. My DH's work is once again letting him come into the office only 2 half days per week. He was up to 5, though earlier on he was working 100% from home. The numbers now are as bad as they've ever been in grand rapids, so I don't get why they're more lax now than before. I work in a redder than red city/county, and the prevailing attitude toward this whole thing from my coworkers corresponded to that. Even with the emphasis on safety at my workplace, the safety people were blowing it off. They seemed more concerned with stubbed toes than covid19, I kid you not. So glad the GM has always been proactive and cautious about this! He's steering the place into looking at remote work (where possible) for the long haul, looking at supplying us with more office equipment/furniture to make working at home more comfortable.

I'm more concerned with the science behind the disease and reacting responsibly with each new bit of information we learn, than doing what is popular with the ill-informed whiners. He's term-limited so it must be freeing to be able to do the right thing and not worry about the political ramifications, which is just sad.

Whitmer is awesome. Dunno if she’d get reelected but she’s not letting that stop her from doing what she has to in a really hostile environment for it. Badass.

She just started a 6 year term, so she's good for a while unless the idiots manage to recall her, though I find that unlikely. The idiots are more loud and obnoxious than numerous.

Michigan's governor, right? FWIW, a 4 year term.

I read that Governor Kemp of Georgia has knocked down mask mandates by individual counties and cities calling them "a bridge too far"

Kemp is in training to be another trump. All he needs now is a tanning bed and to bleach his hair and get a comb over. Et voila.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has a 6 year term. She was elected in 2018, so we have 4 more years of her to deal with.
She also will not allow cities or counties to implement a mask requirement. Some have tried and they get shot down by her administration.
An internal CDC document today puts Iowa in the Red Zone. I know my county is in the Red Zone and I am behaving accordingly.

Look like? I dunno. The GA dept of public health has been updating the numbers at 3 pm every day. I just went to the website and guess what? No update. I guess they only want the white house to know; they sure aren't going to tell the rest of us. Uneffingbelievable.

So, by not telling you, I would just assume they are bad and act accordingly. I also suspect that an FOI request could be filed to get the numbers. FInally, I suspect they will be leaked by someone at a hospital. If the state doesn't release them, and the WH has "massaged" the numbers, use the paper you print out to wipe your a**. Hope that helps

Kemp is in training to be another trump. All he needs now is a tanning bed and to bleach his hair and get a comb over. Et voila. Spray paint. To get that sickening orange color a tanning bed won't help. You'll need an ample supply of spray paint and open hair salons for the bleaching of course. Fortunately no brains are needed since the person he wants to emulate has none (that he uses at least) and that would be muchharder to come by.
