30,000 fans in TN tonight are going to NASCAR. That's a pandemic necessity. /SMH

You should ask her if she has heard of PIMS Well, I had to look up the acronym myself. The first hit was Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science Then I saw the right one. Yes, that has already attacked and even killed children in the US. What is a few really sick or dead kids in the grand scheme of things?

And the sooner parents can quit worrying about silly things like school and daycare, the faster they can go back to work and boost the economy.

He is saving social security! LOL! Is he really saving SS? About 50% of those with more severe symptoms may wind up with permanent heart and lung problems. Is SS for 20 years cheaper than disability (including Medicare) for 35 years? Lol. He is destroying social security!

Wonder how many teacher's and other adults that translates to?

Planet is overpopoulated anyway. Trump is just doing his part to help solve the problem I hesitate to post this because I fear it will be taken out of context or ascribed to me which is so far from MY truth, but in TRUMP’S line of thinking, Trump’s, NOT mine, the world is overpopulated with the “wrong” people. I t doesn’t take a long stretch to see this pandemic as a convenient “cleansing” for a certain political viewpoint. 😳😳😳😳😳😱😱😱😱😱🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 See, and there I was cheering them on for insisting on having their d*** convention for similar lines of reasoning. I mean, I feel terrible about collateral infections, but if they’re determined to go ahead and have big parties for rich old white men, while mocking the dangers of a virus that is especially bad for older males, who am I to say “no y’all should stay home and stay healthy?”.

I mean...would it actually surprise anyone if he saved a lot of payouts on SS, while basically destroying its income base and shoving an unsustainable burden on Medicare, then patted himself on the back for doing a GREAT job?

Better yet — who will clean their houses or care for their gardens or clean all of the Trump hotels or work for almost nothing in American factories? It’s hard to “MAGA” when you kill off your lowest-wage employees.

Walmart and Sam's Club are requiring masks nationwide 7/20. I guess some people will be shopping elsewhere. lurkyloo they are going up. I was encouraged by the string of days at 300ish cases and now it's doubled. Of course this is the week my DH had to start returning to the office one day a week. And he works in one of the counties that had the most cases. Right? We’re still in phase 2 and not moving on any time soon I sincerely hope...but I’m scheduled to start going in to work three half days a week next week. While I am looking forward to getting some hands on work done, I’m also pretty nervous. Although I think we’re deep enough in that the total cases per county aren’t a good metric anymore. I wish it were easier to get a timeline of active infections by county. Like, not that I’m traveling but NYC seems a lot safer than Miami right now and I’m not sure the total cases reflect that.

Wonder how many teacher's and other adults that translates to? I read a statistic that 40% of the teachers are over 50. Who knows how many are dealing with other comorbid conditions that increase their risk on top of age?

A timeline would be great! Some of our local counties have ESRI maps which are fascinating, but each shows data in a different way. One shows cumulative case counts per each town/village/city. One shows per zipcode, but colorcodes a range, not the actual counts (1-5, 6-20, 21-100, 101-500, 501-1000, 1001-3000...). One shows 3 counties, each with different breakdowns, but includes active/recovered/deaths for each zone, but only for community cases, not institutional cases which only count cumulatively (nicest, but still not complete). I really want to know where those 9 newly identified cases in my county are located, and how many active cases are in my town or where I visit. Can't tell where new cases are distributed unless I track daily numbers for each jurisdiction and see the changes.

Is SS for 20 years cheaper than disability (including Medicare) for 35 years? Math is hard So you have a large segment of the population which will be drawing even harder on Medicare because they are sicker than most would be when they normally enroll. This makes a hell of a lot of sense. You're right, math IS hard.

Not like we will get anything close to what you want from the White House. We will have to trust them , unless your state is transparent and releases their data to the news organizations

I can't compare, because it's apples and oranges and apple pie and orange juice, it's been so divided up and cooked together in different arenas. I mean, how useful is that range data I mentioned above? Cumulative case counts are meaningless without tracking recoveries. Especially when we keep seeing media stories about individuals who spent 90 or 100+ days in a hospital finally "recovering" and being released to go home. It's not just the 14 day quarantine group of mild cases.

I wouldn't even know where to begin. They can't even spell "breathe", but the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing troglodytes have launched a lawsuit, claiming masks are harmful. As far as I'm concerned, the border can stay closed forever.

Now think of what could happen if identifying information about individuals gets out.

A friend just sent me another 17 minute YouTube video of a purported MD saying that this is "a nursing home disease" that only afflicts those with co-morbidities and doesn't impact children at all. All those years and $$ at Stanford for an advanced degree in microbiology and she is peddling this stuff like Ivanka selling Goya beans. She won't touch sushi because of worms, but she won't wear a mask because this is a hoax I guess I just imagined the 27 yo I cared for who was on a ventilator. Guess I need to get one of those cognitive tests Trump was bragging about No, it was a hoax to make trump look bad and it is YOUR fault. You forgot that you need to card anyone coming in with some sort of symptoms. And if they are under 60 yo, they just gave a flu and need to be send home with some paracetemol medicine according to the big gut of the very stable genius with tiny hands

As far as I'm concerned, the border can stay closed forever. I watched this "lawyer" on CNN this morning and wanted someone to slap him. According to him Florida isn't seeing more cases, isn't an epicenter, and nothing is wrong because of course there are a few more cases from opening up, but so what? It was insanity. Where do these people get their news? Oh yeah, Faux News who goes on and on about how everything is great and how the democrats pick on their leader and are lying.

Get them cold and taste test on your dsy off. Then report back here with a comparative report. Kind of an adult version of the book reports of yore -> a beer report. And sssshhhhh on the commie thing. THAT guy will probably find a way to kick me out of the country if he catches on

PA is taking a step back. Bars are closed unless they operate as a restaurant. All restaurants are back to 25% indoor capacity.

At least WalMart has now mandated masks at all stores. There will sadly be more than one incident of violence over that in some of the red state areas where Bubba and his gun will defend his right to be a dumbass I haven't been to WalMart since March and ain't going now. I imagine Walmart is worried that employees will die and they will be sued for not trying to do more to provide a safe working environment. Or maybe they just don't want to have to pay for anyone's sick days.
