Is Stupid as contagious as the virus?

Because of the outbreak in this county, we have a Test Iowa site. The first week they opened at 8 am, but it got too hot. Then they went to 5 AM. Then to 4 AM because people were already in line at 4 AM.
The County Health Department has said it will be here until our positive % goes down.

That can't be happening since the virus is a hoax.

The link failed for me, but its hard for me to be sad for what's already happened here. There are supply chains for getting cremated and buried. I was told bodies can only be held for thirty days in NJ. So not only might it suck that your family member dies of this disease, you might not be able to cremate them as they wished, because the wait is too long, or likewise get buried in the preferred plot because the wait is too long to get buried there within that 30 day period.

We set a new record for daily cases again today. But apparently it included cases that weren't reported yesterday because of a new reporting system that was implemented.
I thought yesterdays numbers were low.
%positive is rising, but currently at 5%. The projection if nothing changes is for our daily case rate to triple in a month.

A doctor yesterday told me how quickly we were increasing our numbers. I forget the actual times he stated, but he pointed out how long it took for the US to hit its first Million in cases and how that shortened to hit our second million. He predicted it would take 10 days to go from 3 to 4 million and only 5 days to hit 5 million if we continue our current trajectory.

Is Stupid as contagious as the virus? I'm about to get into it... someone posted a notice that is on the front of a local store that has a LOT of misinformation about Covid and masks, etc. and a few are like, 'what, it's the truth'... and I'm not being quiet. eek. I might have to turn off facebook for the night.

My DH and I were talking about the propaganda and misinformation campaigns. He said that it was a bit our own fault for not being more politically active. I said, it's not that, but we hadn't been speaking up when encountering the nonsense. I told him, I'm trying to more, but I'm afraid it does no good. He thinks some people can change their minds, citing his brother. I don't see it. I see his brother acknowledging out of politeness, but then goes right back to the old sources of misinformation for more of the same. It's a constant battle. I'm afraid I don't have the strength to constantly fight it.

Looks bad and is bad, but some of those would be distributed to other days. One reason the 7 day average is more accurate.

They were saying yesterday that since testing is currently taking a week or longer the case numbers for today are actually those tests taken a week ago and we can expect them to keep rising.

Not my state, but Florida just logged 15K new cases for the day... on a Sunday. And this is why: Cristina Gomez said she isn’t embarrassed about being mocked on national television by Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg, Stephen Colbert and other pundits for her acerbic, finger-waving, anti-mask rant last month at the Palm Beach County Commission meeting heard ’round the world.
“They’re bullies looking for laughs,” the unemployed West Palm Beach resident said. “That’s OK. I have thick skin.”
Because, yanno...that silly virus cannot penetrate that thick skin. Maybe her thick skull at some point, though. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/doh.gif) Meanwhile, the rest of us are just mean old silly people trying to...survive. Here's what I hope for: if she gets sick, no hospital treats her. Sounds cruel, I know. But here she is on camera not merely defying the mask mandate, but telling off the rest of us for wearing one. OK, fine. Your skin is that tough? Take it home and treat it with some home remedy snake oil. I am really tired of people who don't want to practice at least the basic aspects of self-care. Most of us may not get sick. Many will, but the symptoms will be mild to moderate. A significant number will be very sick, to the point of lengthy hospitalization they cannot afford, then go home and need aftercare they cannot provide for themselves and perhaps have no one willing or able to help them. And an unknown number will die. You, little Miss Run-At-The-Mouth, may not be that person, but someone you know and love could be. I hope you can live with that.

I wonder what the number of daily cases Florida would need to have for the governor and his cronies to finally take notice and stop with the nonsense they are peddling. 20k? 30k? 50K? Or will it require a certain number of deaths a day? 500? 1000? 2000?

With the reopening of Disney, it'll bring Florida what it doesn't need right now...more out-of-state tourists, and more cases. Makes me wonder if Desantis has money invested in funeral homes. Or is buying land for cemeteries. If you wrote this story for publication, no one would believe it.

There is ngligble risk they they will make it worse. Florida seems to be doing quite well on their own
