people can spread coronavirus “So what we’ve been telling people from directives from the CDC for weeks now, that if you start feeling bad stay home, those individuals could have been infecting people before they ever felt bad,” Kemp said.
“Well we didn’t know that until the last 24 hours” he added. “This is a game-changer for us,” Kemp said.

Headline: Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp just admitted he is a fucking idiot who doesn't know how to listen to the most simplistic information from experts. Anyone surprised?

Headline: Thyme is in a piss-ass mood, apparently. 😝 welcome to the club. Watching the GOP shrug their shoulders & go when we know 100,000-240,000 are going to die is enough to really get pissed about. Who knew? isn't a plan of action.

steff Who knew? isn't a plan of action? I could have sworn it was because "Who knew?" is what The Donald said when the coronavirus took off. Just because he was warned doesn't mean he knew. Our governor isn't known for his intellect and is only a slight cut above the president. I doubt that either of them ever heard of Typhoid Mary.

Thank you Lynn for posting this.
Due to our now stay-in-place orders in the state of Ga., I went out to stock up on what needed supplies I could find today. OMG, what a mess....lines longer than even what we had at Christmas time around here. I went to 3 stores...Piggly Wiggly had most items in stock...they even had some bread on the shelves & beef & pork in the meat case, just no chicken. The frozen dept. was pretty well stocked to as well as produce & dairy. They were the only ones in town with eggs. Publix was ok, some big holes in frozen & not a whole lot in the meat case either, but still some things. Their eggs & real butter were GONE! Only buns & rolls in the bread aisle....but still managed to get some frozen for us. Then Walmart....self-checkout line was nearly out the door they were so backed up. Meat cast totally empty as well as lunch meats. Produce was hit/miss & so was dairy...no eggs, no paper towels, no toilet tissue. They did have my dry cat food...thank goodness. I had dropped off 3 scripts at Walmart when I went in & totally forgot to go get them when I left...so DH is going in the morning to get those & get milk he forgot to put on my list. I was soooo glad to get out of the mad houses...just unreal! I wore a mask every where I went. I had wipes that I used on my hands after handling all the stuff before I got back into my truck. So I did what I could to stay safe due to both DH & I being in a high risk group from having other medical conditions. Someone asked me why I didn't buy our supper while I was in town....no way was I sitting in a drive thru line when all of them were jammed any where from 6-20 cars waiting if that many fit. Nope, no doing that!

Oh, I forgot...I'm betting that Kemp didn't know the definition of asymptomatic!
Plus Kemp had been listening to his "advisors"....his buddies...who likely own businesses that will now lose $$$ since they will have to shut down.
Did ya'al see where the Fl. governor has now exempted church services from the "no gatherings" or other orders?

Boy I'm glad I live in a blue state.

I admit I just learned Brian Kemp is a fucking idiot. Sadly for those of us in Georgia, we've known this for quite awhile. You should read up on his time as Secretary of State & how he fixed the election so he would win & become governor.

The GOP is so afraid they are going to miss a dollar! I'm so proud of KY's governor! He shut the state down EARLY. I'm so thankful the people of KY got rid of Trump toady Matt Bevins! Was surprising, now maybe they'll wise up and get rid of Mitch!

absentee ballots are skewed Republican to a considerable degree.
not sure what the Daily Mail is talking about, but they are a right wing rag, so it might be misinformation.

Republicans are thinking that if everyone is forced to get the mail-in ballot, that more people who currently lean left but normally have trouble voting will get their say. You know, all those losers and ethnics who don't realize they been purged until they show up at the polls. Or the entire precient that got moved and the voters can't get to their new polling place. Or who get called to work last minute, so they can't show up. All of those people will suddenly have a say.

Absentee ballots do not necessarily correlate to entire states voting by mail.

DJ, we have a large rural population that is black that doesn't always have transportation to a polling place on voting day. This will allow them to vote no matter what. That is why several of the local churches usually run their busses on voting day....but this year...have to keep our distance. And I'm considering donating a couple rolls of stamps to a couple of the black churches locally that help some of these folks so we are sure they can get their absentee ballots back on time! I'll call one of the churches in a few days or contact a minister I've known for years and find out if the stamps will help.

Or when they can cheat by closing polling places or purging the voter rolls...or any other voter suppression!

I think free postage is part of the whole deal.

You have to put a stamp on a ballot? 🤬 Wtf I'm drawing a blank when I got one last election, I just dropped it off cuz I was late and afraid it wouldn't count.

From what I've been hearing on the news around here....they will at least have to put a stamp on the request for an absentee ballot form when they return that. And knowing the GOP here, they will likely require one on both the request & the ballot. Don't give anyone a chance to vote if they can prevent it.

Ok, got my ballot request in the mail today. It has to be signed EXACTLY the way your name is printed on it. Then one piece has to be cut off (the instructions), and it has to be folded so your county election office address is showing...then a piece of clear tape has to be put on the open side or it won't be accepted by the PO>
Did ya get all that? Oh, and don't forget to put a stamp on it cause they aren't paying for you to get a ballot to vote.
