I honestly don't know we use disposable one and done if we have to. N95' are specially fitted and require professional certification. I have no idea how to sterilize a reusable amask. Sorry. The main thing is if you are going to wear it don't mes with it till you're ready to take it off. Pulling it down to eat, drink, or smoke (yes I've seen it) defeats the purpose. Especially if you leave it dangling on your face because now the inside has touched various other parts of your face. So you're going to need multiple masks for the day if you are going to be expected to wear one at all times. Take the one you had on before you eat and put it in a sealed plastic baggy. Wash your hands, get out of the new one and put the new one on. Sterilize them all when you get home. When you take them off don't touch the inside of the mask. Only touch the elastic bands around your ears. When I wear a mask I get everything I need done with it on done because I don't want to have to go thru the whole gowning process over and over. Thank you very much, Drama! That’s what I assumed, I will need more than one mask since 8 hours would be too long with just one. Clean hands to put one on, don’t touch it at all while on the face, clean hands to take it off and touch only the sides, then wash hands again in case there was something on the side of the mask. I would need at least two so I can take one off to eat and put a clean on afterwards, maybe more just to have in case I need it, they’ll get wet from me breathing I’m sure. I would need to store used ones in a ziploc bag and then wash them at home to be used the next day, probably put in a dryer on hot for a while. So, just common sense, like I do with gloves I’d say. I doubt our work would be able to provide any for us at this time, we never needed them for the work we do and now it might be to hard to get any to protect all of us working there. Thank you, again!

Worried about DH's job. As of right now the company has said no lay offs but salaries are reduced 25% for the rest of 2020 (it is assumed). That is fine he's still bringing home more than he did when he started his old company.
My concern is what if this really does have to go on till 2022? He's being trained but he's also the last one in so he'd be an easy cut. I'm assuming that a lot of companies will also pressure people to take retirement first because a side bonus would be reducing their most at risk employee stock too. But you just don't know. I am hoping they will figure out a way to get him all trained up so if this does last till 2022 we'll be okay.
I'm not going anywhere. Our business is booming as vets panic buy vaccines and I have a letter from Homeland security excusing me from the apocalypse.
I know in the end we would be okay, but this is too much to take in such a short period of time. If I had known that this is what 2020 was going to look like I would have drugged myself into a coma back in December.

Of course I have no way of knowing for sure, but I really have a hard time seeing this going until 2022 even in my worst look ahead moments. Life is going to have to get back to some semblance of normal long before that. Covid 19 or not.
Best thing is to take it one day at a time and not worry about that which you cannot control. I find not much I worry about ever comes to fruition anyhow (of course as my Great Grandma used to say, that means it works!) It's the surprise things that throw me for a loop and disrupt my life the most. Just like last year at this time you weren't stressing about the possibility of a pandemic in 2020.

I'm trying to just go one step at a time. If everything collapses for me - I would just have to deal with it at that point. the student loan relief is a godsend to me right now. I'm trying to shore up as best I can right now. Pay the bills, buy some beans. Hopefully I can put some money away next month....

We get the results of mom's bronchoscopy this afternoon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's just pneumonia.

Dude it's like you haven't been watching me post here for years. Daily existential crises come with the territory at least as far as my anxiety goes, IDK about how it manifests in other people. It's trying it's hardest to turn into actual depression. I came very close to giving in after Saturday's nigh brawl between dad and bro. I've been forcing myself to plan my attire and put on make up every day even on weekends. No I am not going anywhere but I am self aware enough to know ignoring grooming is not me going low maintenence it is a sign I've given up. Even if I only look in the mirror putting in the effort keeps me from slipping into ennui. There are days when I think we may end up having to let nature take its course. Way back before modern civilization these types of situations were what weeded out stupid people. If the number of people I saw at the gas station yesterday (not getting gas, not running and in and out, just hanging out like we're at the local Drive In) were any indication my city holds A LOT of stupid people. No matter how many things the city closes these people find a way to be stupid. Don't get me wrong I don't want anyone to die but at the same time I don't want to live like this till 2022 because people cannot grasp that "less than 10 people" actually means LESS than 10 people. I saw groups of close to 20 at our local state park on Saturday. Which thanks for ruining that. You can drive through it and it's a nice drive but now it's going to be closed because people can't not be stupid. At this point I don't feel like elected officials can say much more to save these people from themselves. And yes I recognize stupid people can take non-stupid down with them. Hence the regular existential crises I've been having lately.

Just got mom's results. It looks like she just has serious inflammation there from her lung collapsing. The lung hasn't come back completely and may never do so. She's to use her oxygen more and her nebulizer regularly. Thank you for all the prayers! While there may not be a treatment for her, at least it's not more cancer.

Getting exhausted with DH. All his demons came roaring back complete with relapse. I'm bumbling handling it this is all above my pay grade.
I'm tempted to give up and let him wallow. I have enough on my own plate without him refusing to help himself.
I need to call our insurance and see if telehealth coverage extends to therapy this can't be put off anymore. Our marriage won't make it.

My anxiety level is pretty low. We've been following guidelines. I have two friends who have dogs with anxiety that are on medication. Both of the dogs are older so that could explain some of it. I checked back on the start of this thread where I had posted a link. Dr. Brilliant did a TED talk. He had made a movie called Contagion. I started to watch it. Nope, No way. It probably showed how to quarantine and manage a pandemic but I can't watch.

And I screwed that. Tired of him complaining about everything regarding the business so I told him just quit and go home. Problem solved.
That was the wrong answer.

Put your oxygen mask on first. Then on your children. Only then can you help others.

Dad's. Though he's understandably frustrated about his job job too. Being back in the office for that one will likely help some. That'll happen sometime in late May they aren't rushing to open they can get by with everyone at home. To be blunt he's turning into me when my anxiety is out of control. I get why people dislike me. But I don't have substance abuse problems on top of it. That's where I'm out of my depth. I can't teach him how to replace that crutch.

I'm pushing for individual therapy. He did group for awhile but I got the strong feeling it was more enabling him than helping. Then NA was too big and impersonal.
Like a lot of other people right now he was doing real well. Now we've lost ground and I'm worried about not gaining it back depending on how long this continues.

We watched Contagion last week . It was all so eerily familiar but on a much greater scale overall as well . So far , anyway

Coursera has a free course on managing your mental health during COVID-19. I’m only on week 1 so I’m not certain how helpful it is, but it may have some coping strategies that could be useful.

It's a healthy crutch.

NomoreDramaQ1015 It's all I've got, but I'm thinking good thoughts for both of you. Your answer to him wasn't the wrong answer. There wasn't a right answer.
