I've been weight lifting about 10 weeks now. I haven't lost much weight, but I'm feeling stronger. I added more cardio recently, and my stamina is getting better now. I just have to drink less alcohol and eat more veggies. An article I read recently basically said I'm obese (by waist measurement and fat %), so I'm kicking it into higher gear. I don't feel like I look it, but heart disease runs on both sides of my family, so I need to do what I can.

I did well on my goals this past week:
Averaged almost 22,000 steps a day - and had nearly 600,000 total for February Averaged 2150 calories burned daily Climbed an average of 61 flights of stairs a day - though a big chunk of that was from a hike on Saturday where I missed a trail and ended up almost doubling how far I'd planned on going.
I'm a pound from my goal, but when (if) I reach that, I'll probably lower it another pound or two for some wiggle room.
This week:
18,500 steps daily Burn 1850 calories a day 40 flight of stairs - I've already missed it today, so I'm not off to a great start And for the love of all that's holy, quit snacking so dang much in the evenings!!!
And shout out to ners and flamingo for doing so great in the step challenge. I don't look at it as trying to get the most steps, and I don't think you all do either, but it motivates me to get off my butt, and for that I'm so thankful!
ETA - hit my stair goal today after all. Whew!

I'm hovering at 134lbs. That's back to my "normal" weight from 2005 - 2015. (Before that I was having and nursing babies.)
My goal is still to at 130 pounds by the end of March.
I've managed to go to the gym three times in the last ten days. I should have gone today, but I just didn't.
Water intake has consistently been at 64oz or more.
Yoga has been decent--even if it's sometimes while I"m standing in my office meeting with staff.

Dinners are planned out for the week.
Slowly getting back on track.

This past week, I met all my goals (well, except I'm still snacking too much in the evenings ).
Averaged nearly 21,000 daily steps 2100 calories burned a day 52 daily flights of stairs
I hit my weight goal for two days, but then the weekend came. My goal this week is to try to get back to it and stay there at least three days. I know a pound makes no difference, but mentally I'd just feel better.
Other daily goals are staying the same this week:
18,500 steps Burn 1850 calories - no, actually I'll up this a bit to 1900 a day 40 flights of stairs

I'm feeling pretty good right now. Spring is trying to make an appearance here, which is lifting my mood and helping me get outside more. My eating is....ok I guess. Nothing stellar, but no worse than it has been. flutterby and ners - you ladies are super inspiring in the step challenge. I thought I got a lot of steps in every month, and it's inspiring to see how far behind I am most times!

Sunday I REALLY didn't feel like doing anything active. No motivation whatsoever. But then I thought, ners and flamingo will see how lazy I am, so I got off my ass and went for a walk. Which of course I enjoyed once I got moving. Without being accountable to anyone, I would have a really hard time keeping up with this. Positive peer pressure!

flutterby Funny on Sunday I was not feeling like getting in my steps. Then I looked and I was in last place. Which is okay if I am still going to hit my goal. Not getting in steps would make achieving my goal difficult.

Last week was a decent week. I got 2 gym days in before getting a sinus infection. I was upset about that, I had my best run so far and the next day bam I was sick. I will definitely be wiping equipment down before and after I use it this week. My allergy doctor recommended that but I didn't listen.
I did make 70,000+ steps for the second week in a row. I'm trying to focus on the week as a whole instead of beating myself up over a day I didn't get 10,000.
I walked the hotel Friday night to make sure getting 70,000 steps for the week would be achievable with our plans for Saturday/Sunday. This week I need to get back to the gym. All my other attempts in the past two years hit a block once I get sick. I do good for a couple weeks then I'm sick and can't go and just don't get back to it once I'm better.

Posting while I do 10 minutes on the elliptical at work during my break. I've been doing this, plus either exercising at home or at the gym nearly every day. Also, tracking and cutting back on the calories this week. If I don't start seeing some real results from this this weekend, I don't know what I'm going to do.
I also joined a new health group starting up at work. It was mostly just a bunch of people talking over each other about stuff I already know. None seemed too extremely healthy/fit, but the ones in the company who could have most benefited by it didn't join either. I'm going to chalk it down to just a networking opportunity for me.

OMG! I got even better results than I'd ever imagined for today. A full pound less than my best case scenario, and my eating was kind of crappy yesterday, and I skipped exercising more than the 10 minutes on the elliptical because I was super sore from the cumulative exercises over the past week.
Finally! I still have a long way to go, but finally, real progress!

I did okay this week.
The good: Averaged 20,300 steps a day Burned avg. of 2060 calories daily Average 47 flight of stairs a day
The bad: Missed my step goal one day I didn't hit my goal weight even 1 day, let alone the 3 days I aimed for. I can't imagine why...couldn't possibly be the Valentine's chocolates I remembered I'd stashed in the freezer...or the 3 tubs of salted caramels I bought at Costco (you know, to survive possible quarantine)...or the 3 days of take-out (again, gotta save my food at home in case of quarantine)..no, it's all a mystery why I can't lose that last pound
So this week:
I don't know if I'll be transitioning to work from home (where all the food is!!!), but I'm aiming for:
18,500 steps a day Burn 1900 daily calories 45 flight of stairs a day Hit goal weight at least once
Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Did not come close to my step goal last week. Stupid sinus infection. I get so discouraged when I'm doing well then I get sick and it takes me out for 2-3 weeks.

I’m going to be home with kids and WFM for the foreseeable future, so we’ll see how this goes with me trying to eat okay and be active. I’m technically off this week as we initially planned to be out of town, so the kiddos and I went for a walk after lunch, so that was a great way to get some steps in today. Tomorrow is supposed to be rain free, so we’re going to fit in a walk at some point again.

Well, I guess since I'm working from home and all my obligations are on hold (council committees, girls on the run coaching) I have the gift of time. I've been working out every day since Sunday and I stocked up on hard pretzels, dried fruit, nuts, and Siggi's yogurt so I am currently not tempted by junk. I just might lose weight at the end of this!

I’ve been out on a walk with the kids every day this week, plus playing outside in the yard when the weather cooperates. I was worried I’d be snacking more, but so far doing okay.

Hi, everyone. I'm still plodding along. I've increased my trips to the gym, but now my family would like us to not go to the gym. So, that's annoying. I've also started planks again. I had four surgeries on my right side upper chest last year, so it's been awhile since I've done arms and planks.

Lost another 2.5 lbs this week. With the kitchen torn out, and being stuck at home working my ass off to catch up on my work, I've simply neglected to eat as much. Exercise has been mostly non-existent, but I have plenty I can do at home. Just too stressed out by the end of the day. I'm really going to try to do a good kettlebell workout today, though.

I had an excellent week. Daily I averaged:
48 flights of stairs 20,472 steps 2067 calories burned And the big one - hit my goal weight (actually a tiny bit under) four days!!
However, I'm working from home now, and boredom - and boredom eating - is setting in. It's going to be a battle to stay out of the kitchen.
This week I want to average daily:
45 flights 19,500 steps 1900 calories burned Be at (or under!!) goal weight at least three days
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, both physically and mentally.

My gym is closed and I refuse to gain weight. I'm trying to do at home workouts. Anyone have any suggestions as far as sites or apps? Try the online streaming services for free trials: Barre3, Daily Burn, Obe Fitness, Orange Theory, Peloton, etc. Blogilates.com is always good for videos and Cassey has a 14-day quarantine plan. www.blogilates.com/14-day-quarantine-workout-plan/Is your Zumba instructor offering classes online? A lot of yoga instructors are offering Zoom classes. See what instructors in your area are doing. Have hand weights at home? Get a workout in even with lighter weights!
