So productive, everyone! Dedicating my focus on cleaning as it's something I can control during this time.... Over the weekend: Friday I had an at home spa day, which I recommend to everyone here Did stretching, yoga and cardio on various days
4 loads laundry, including sheets
Scrubbed a toilet Emptied 3 trash cans
Cleaned master bath vanity Swiffered the laundry room and powder room floors, washed area rugs Baked corn bread and cookies Boiled and dyed Easter eggs Read Took inventory of the camper needs Compiled grocery list Planned this week's dinners Emptied, refilled, emptied and refilled the dishwasher Social distanced with the neighbors in our driveway
Watched the Secret Life of Pets 2. It was LMAO funny! The mini fridge here at work successfully manually defrosted, and I gave it a good scrub this morning.

I will be going to for groceries on Wednesday. It's store pick up, so all they do is put the groceries in the car.

Hi Kids! Just had to report in that my relative got his results back, and he does NOT have the coronavirus. So, he's out of isolation, and back with his friends at the nursing home. Which means, they'll continue their record of NO cases, at least so far... Unpacking is going slowly. My back is slowly getting better. I had to test it tonight, as I needed to make a run to Target. And yes, I wore a face mask. So did about 1/3 to 1/2 of the other customers, including the men.

Today was grocery day for Mom and me. I was there right when they opened and our lists were short so in and out in less than half an hour. I am severely limiting which stores I will shop so my selection is also limited. Finally got paper towels today. Yikes were they expensive.
I did break my do most of my shopping at one store and went to Walgreens today for tums. I also got Mom stocked up with after Easter special candy. While I knew that her candy dish was always full I didn't realize how much she relied on her candy.
Walgreens had maybe one or two other customers in the store. If the parking lot had been full or had a lot of cars I would have passed them by. The Safeway across the street had a lot of cars, about what I would expect as normal for a Monday around noon. No way am I setting foot in there. I wore my mask and apparently in either putting it on or removing it I also managed to remove one of diamond earrings. They were fairly small diamonds but none the less. I wore them all the time. A few years ago I lost one of my pearl earrings when we were out getting a Christmas tree. I told Mom I should just wear one diamond and one pearl earring and call it good.

I got rid of all the cardboard boxes we had, empty and useless, in the house. It's amazing how that one thing makes the house look so much more orderly.
Made a few phone calls, including one to have the county replace our paper recycling cart. The top broke off. They'll pick it up next week and either fix or replace it.
This is such a strange time in the world, stalked by an unpredictable virus to which no one has immunity. I read that 30% of negative tests prove to be false. That's an astonishingly high amount. We--actually I--have been using the masks my sister made as I go out in public grocery stores and Costco. My DH drives but doesn't actually go in, as he is very high risk. I wipe off my hands as I get back to the car with alcohol wipes. I've got a boxful left from when DH was ill and on IV antiobiotics through a PICC line.
I do wonder what of our old ways will be permanently changed going forward. There is a lot of good in having families drawn closer together, but fear of other people can't be good.

Hey everyone, I hope you are all being successful with being safe and healthy. I've been working on my home office to declutter it and am making progress. I got rid of an old laptop, threw out a bunch of papers, and have my desk space organized. I'm also working on the "color" of the room. I tried an olive green paint on the back wall and it was too olive green for me. I should have known better, lol. I know I want a blue accent wall on the "window" side of the room but I want another color on the opposite wall that "pops" but is not overwhelming. So I spent Sunday studying color palettes on Sherwin Williams and Behr's websites. In terms of my work life, I'm making good progress. I don't remember when I last posted and am too lazy to find my last post. My apologies if I repeat myself. But, what I have accomplished is: - The course I was developing this spring is done! I finished it the first week of March.
- For the class I'm teaching this semester, I was making updates to the course by updating content, reorganizing how I present material, and revising my assignments. I am 1/2 a "lecture" of content away of being done with that and I have a rubric to make, and that class will be in good shape. It will easy to get it ready for the Fall semester.
- For the class I mentioned above, I also tried a new approach to giving my exams by having the students take them using our computer-based testing center (I'm now giving my exams online now that we are remote). I have decided I like it and will continue to use the computer-based testing site. Building the question banks takes time but once they are built, it will save me a lot of time.
- I'm only on 3 committees for next academic year and one of the committees rarely meets.
- I'm not adding more to my plate.
Another thing that happened with my work life is typically in the summer, I teach an online class. Our department decided not to offer it this summer and so I'll be free of teaching this summer and will use that time to catch on the administrative items I have needed to get done for the past 2 years.
The downfall to not teaching in the summer is I still have to fulfill my "teaching contract". So, to fulfill my contract, I have to teach an additional class in the academic year. I've requested to teach in the Spring semester. It is a course I have taught in the past, but it has been 5 years so it will basically be a new prep for me. If I get to teach it in the spring, it will give me the Fall semester to get the class ready. If I compare teaching this course to teaching my online class, it is more work for me but not offering the online class was the right decision.
I must say that I can already feel the "stress" melting away with the progress I have made to get my work "to do" list whittled down and I like how it feels. I'm going to stay focused on not adding more work to my work life and not "going" over the top on what I do anymore.

I got a big job done yesterday and sorted the bin of finished fabric pieces (5,000 of them) for the new quilt. I actually have 2 quilts going now so I bagged up everything I needed to and put the rest away for now.
I have 4 big bags to finish, each one has 350 pieces to assemble into 7 piece flowers. Of the 260 I need I have finished 16.
Since I decided not to purchase the home I went to see last week, I will have a few weeks or months until it’s safe to travel again and see other homes. I am still hopeful for a great house and property in my budget but only time will tell.

So today we were "those people". We went to the post office to post the kids' masks. DH stayed in the car. I addressed all the envelopes while standing on line, mailed them, fine. It took me 45 min, I could have used DH's help, but whatever.
We went to the local garden center on the way home, they were closed. So we went home.
We REALLY wanted to get the plants. So we decided to go to our favorite garden center, a bit further. Before we left, I asked DH, do you have a mask? Yes. I asked him a second time, you do have a mask, right? YES. I asked him a THIRD time, are you ABSOLUTELY SURE you have a mask? DH spat out, I've told you three times already, YES I HAVE A MASK!
We get to the garden center.
I'm sure you can guess what happened next. DH says, um, I don't have a mask. It wasn't pretty. I'm sure we provided great entertainment to the clients, the staff, and anyone else. We may even show up on youtube, who knows.

Thanks Finnime. This is the first major argument we've had in over a month and I know I should be grateful for that. But not having ANY alone time EVER is absolutely killing me.

I've noticed my DH and I have evolved a pattern of spending about half our time on different floors of the house. We didn't plan it, but it probably is saving some bits of sanity.

My DH is barely working these days (that's another problem, I won't even go there). We spend some time in different rooms on the same floor (he prefers the kitchen, I prefer the DR). But my time working is spent talking to a ton of students on zoom, so even if DH and I aren't in the same room, I NEVER get ANY time alone anymore.

Glad to know I'm not the only one lol.
My 10 am class was postponed to this afternoon, so I changed/washed our bedding and towels, and vacuumed downstairs.

Yay Theo!!! Chloe do you have plastic tubs that seal? You could put those in the garage, and put smaller quantities in the kitchen. This weekend - Coursera/Sat - input Job 1 and Job 2 marks/Sun - request lunch vouchers/Sun - mark 8 MSc essays/Mon
Done by 10 am. ETA: Took a long walk. Our friend A was on her balcony. She said she'd JUST finished our masks so she threw them down to us. I'll mail them to the kids tomorrow. Debt, we’ve had an intermittent rodent problem for the last year. The last three or so months have been a nice break. Plastic tubs stopped being an option last summer. Here’s what happened last week for us to discover the reoccurrence of the problem.

We are still going to work full time, so we all have blessed separation from each other each day.
I’m sorry about the argument though, debt.
I’m still working on seniors transcripts and figuring out who is done with school and who is not based on the adjusted graduation requirements. Spending about ten hours a day at work.

Thanks Finnime. This is the first major argument we've had in over a month and I know I should be grateful for that. But not having ANY alone time EVER is absolutely killing me. Everyone I know is suffering from too much together time with their spouse. Life is so much harder when you can't meet after being out in the world and share who you interacted with and what happened in the course of the day. DH is still in his basement office everyday so that helps me. And thank God that the girls are still working most of the time or I would be absolutely homicidal. We have been "fronting" with our neighbors when the weather allows. We hang out on lawn chairs on the sidewalk with an adult beverage and shout at each other across the street and from one driveway to the next. Not our usual social gatherings but better than none at all. We were all lamenting the loss of "me" time when we met last night.

DH is still going to his parents to drop stuff off and check in on them every couple days. I'm sure it's not proper but it gets him away from me. He'll also go for random drives.
We are working on opposite ends of our dining space. The kitchen/dining space is combined with the kitchen shoved in a U shaped space to the right. Dining space is much larger and on left hand side of room.
The desk has always been on one end. There's a folding table we set up on the other end to hold the Keurig, toaster and toaster oven. It was also intended to be where the air fryer and instant pot were used. It's become DH's desk.
There's not room for a designated office in our townhouse. Our bedroom is the conference room so we don't disturb the other person working.
My MIL previously enjoyed a drink with dinner while eating out and at dinner at her children's houses. She's having wine every night now. My FIL was still working and going in to the office most days. She enjoyed an empty house.
The annoying thing is despite too much time together if I go upstairs, DH wants to know where I'm going. I'm going away from you!!

So glad to hear I'm not alone with the stress. I contemplated the fact my orange comment above was a bit harsh. I mean, DH is great, and even asked for a honey do list last month, but well, you know.... Went to WM this AM for the first time in weeks. I hadn't been since the limiting shoppers, mask suggestions, etc. What a bizarre experience. About 3/4 of the shoppers were wearing masks (not me), and very few employees were. I could not wait to get to the office to scrub my hands. Even more strange: The cashier said mine was the third blender she'd sold thus far today.

LOL!
LOLOL Iggy!!! That's hilarious! I saw on a YM thread that someone checked out the free listings on Craigslist, and someone was offering 3 kids.
My espresso machine started leaking again, so I descaled it. It's too early to be sure that solved the problem, but it's been a few hours, and so far, so good.
Iggy I guess our coffee machines are in cahoots!

I just want someone to talk to that isn't Mom. Tuesday's and Wednesday's seem to be my worst days and involve the most tears. Tuesday seems to be my I'm too stupid to do anything and I will probably get fired day. Wednesday is just get through the day.
Mom and I don't live together and she is absolutely driving me up the wall. We are supposed to go out of town next week for a long weekend. This was planned at the end of December. I think it is foolish to go and Mom is bound and determined that we are going come hell or high water. I would lose my deposit of about $180 if I were to cancel, plus incur the never ending wrath of Mom. Actually at this late date I may be responsible for the cost of the entire weekend.
Today at work we received an e-mail that we would be put on a list to be part of the labor pool for the hospitals. They are still concerned about a surge in patients etc. Mom's only response was does that mean they've cancelled your time off for next week. Geez Mom thanks for your concern that I may be thrown into working in a hospital environment with little to no training. True the tasks on the list were things like food delivery, patient transport, etc. but it would still involve contact with patients.

H and I are doing pretty well with the quarantine actually. Of course, I am the type that LOVES not having to share my people, so that may be why. He does have to go in to work 2 days a week for 2 hours, so we are getting a bit of a break from each other. I am more "touched out" with my kids. It's been us round the clock for almost a month. They need a break from me just as much as I need a break from them. Other than my 2 trips to the grocery store solo, that hasn't happened. I told H I may go for a solo walk today or tomorrow just to get a few minutes to myself before I snap haha. They are even camping in our room right now, so even my bedtime routine is kid time.
