Welcome to Oregon!
For those of us who live in rural places, a truck is actually a need, not a want. We have an F-250. We wouldn't have purchased a Tundra either. Ford, Dodge, Chevy are the truck makers. The others are wannabes. I mean that for towing and hauling purposes in addition to size of seats and bed.

Get a little UHaul trailer. Or buy a small trailer with a lay down tailgate. You can drive mowers on it, etc. A new one is about a $1k I think.
My husband didn't want my truck because it was a shorter bed and it was 6 ft, he wants the one seat 8 ft bed next time. I keep telling him that is just not practical with 3 of us, that center likely has a fold down console and the seat will be like a rock. So he let a beautiful, perfect truck go. Of course our son will enjoy it, so that is a plus. He did say it was a bit fancy for him.
With a V6 and small bed, check on towing capacity and don't let salesmen tell you, you can tow any weight. Do you have a braking system on the truck also?

The 4x4 had 378k miles on it when we gave it to one of our friends for his son to off road it and go mudding. We haul all manner of wood, trailers, anything that would fit in the 4x4 long bed. We alse get a good amount of snow in winter and our trucks have done just fine. It's really subjective.

Beautiful truck. Congratulations.
I know the back seat would sleep okay for car camping.

That's a pretty badass truck! Thanks. It did well on its maiden voyage today into Reno, NV. Tomorrow we are off to eastern Oregon in the snow.

Have you named her yet? I was thinking something fun like Lollipop because she's red and so sweet. Of course, you have to go with whatever suits your fancy. She might even be a he. lol

When one of my brothers was just a tot a new baby sister was brought home from the hospital, and he watched while her diaper was being changed. He declared that she was a girl. My dad asked, "How do you know that?" Said brother, "I can tell by her eyes."

Other than the name "POS" that fit my 1996 Blazer from about a month after I bought HIM, (lol) I don't typically name my vehicles. She's a Colorado, so maybe something related to that. Hey, Colorado, legal weed, weed cash bought her... I see a trend. Perhaps I should have found a green one...

I got an extended cab truck last year, and really stressed over the decision to opt for a shorter bed. I have not *really* missed the 8'0" bed, although there were times when I could have used it. Also had to get used to not seeing the full bed behind me, but that is not a big deal either. Overall, I do like the bigger cab. I guess that is why they are so popular! I wanted at least 6.5' because then I could camp in it and move all my crap north. This bed is going to be nearly impossible for both, but I will buy a tent and move less stuff. I liked that this one had a smaller cab than the 2013 Tundra I drove. That thing was massive inside and complete overkill. Running boards are a must when I get back to my mom's. Climbing into this beast without them is NOT a graceful thing for my fat self. Even the valet last night at the hotel was looking at it like 'how do I get into this thing?' lol

I will be in a hotel in the middle of nowhere for the next few days, so I will probably post and read the board. It's snowing up there, so not a lot of adventuring going on during this trip once I leave NV today. Everything will be covered in white stuff. I stayed at the Silver Legacy last night. OMG was it freaking noisy. The wind was howling and a group of teenagers or drunk people were running and yelling well past 2am. Then the idiot next door got up about 5:30am and started making all kinds of noise. Argh. Hope my stay later in the week is a bit quieter. Off for a LONG drive through the desert of NV and Eastern OR. This is going to be a long move with my dogs when I have to make it in one shot. I was ready to be out of the truck in Reno and it's not even halfway to my destination...

Is tomorrow for some fun in Reno? Yes, a fun day/evening in Reno then on to Oregon to find a house. May we assume you didn't gamble away what was left of the $250K in Reno?

Just reading this makes me miss my truck. If my feet improve I am going to kick myself 10 times over for selling it. Right now I could just cry.

We have had two Tundras (one currently) and one Tacoma. We needed a bigger truck after we had kids and went to a Ford. That lasted two years - it was rusting and water was leaking into the door panel. We went back to a Tundra. Doubt we will ever go to another manufacturer again. And we use it to haul 8-12 loads of wood per winter as well.

The drive from Reno to Eastern Oregon is interesting. I did about 100 miles today on highway that was all packed snow on top of ice. No black pavement. No lines on the road. Just white... And, without any habitation or any other signs of life, except a rare driver coming the other way and some cattle herds for nearly the entire 100 miles. It was okay until I hit a very high mountain pass (Baker Pass in the Steens Mt area, I believe). I wasn't aware I would encounter any elevation out that way... It was seriously scary, but my truck did great and I lived to tell the tale. I didn't slide until I came into town and backed up out of a parking space. lol Unfortunately, I now know what I have to face to get back to Reno and I'm not really looking forward to another 100 miles on the ice and going back over the pass. It's 3 hours of constant pucker power... And, I did ask and apparently it will melt come late spring. Until then, it will be the same so it's not really an option to wait it out. It looks like a great place to adventure in the late spring/early summer, but right now not so much. The snowy desert is amazingly beautiful and I now know for 1000% certainty I will never haul a trailer up here when I move. Snow and ice in a 4wd truck designed for it is one thing, a UHaul or a trailer - oh hell no. lol Perhaps that's why the only 2 radio stations for 300 miles are religious? To help one pray before possible road death? I did discover my truck has a warning message "possible ice on the roadway" that will henceforth be known as the "no shit" warning since I had been on ice for miles and miles before it showed up...

Congratulations! That looks like a nice, compact house, easy to take care of. Those mature trees in the yard are a nice bonus. And it looks like the yard is already fenced, too! Wishing you much joy in your new home.
Safe travels!

Very nice! Isn’t that quite a bit more than you planned to spend? Not a criticism, I’m just curious.

Congratulations! It looks perfect for your needs and wants. The size is great; you've got an outbuilding for your equipment; appliances convey; wonderful yard; extra room upstairs for your son(s) when they visit. Looks to be in good shape, too.

@shastasnewlife don't forget to take the link down tonight or tomorrow since it does show your new address and that might be more private information out here than you like.
Cute house btw. I wish you a lot of luck and happiness in your new home

Good choice! I've heard a metal roof is the best and I love the upstairs with the slanted ceiling.
When can you move in?
