No need to start another trump thread, so adding to this one. Trump wants to find and prosecute whoever told media about bunker visit: NYTPresident Trump demanded officials find and prosecute people responsible for leaking information about his visit to a bunker beneath the White House amid protests, The New York Times reported. Trump’s comments regarding the leak about the bunker come as the president has complained to advisers that no matter what he does he, cannot get “good” stories from the press, the Times reported. He also complained that nothing he does is good enough amid criticism over his handling of the death of George Floyd, according to the report. Floyd’s death in Minneapolis police custody last month sparked nationwide protests over police brutality. The Hill reached out to the White House regarding Trump’s reported comments. Earlier this month, Trump denied reports that he was rushed to an underground bunker as protests grew violent. He told Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade during a radio interview that he had gone to the bunker to “inspect” it during the day and not during the protests at night. Attorney General William Barr, however, later undercut Trump’s claims and seemingly confirmed reports that Trump was rushed to the bunker on the evening of Friday, May 29, as protests near the White House intensified. Complete article here: Trump wants to find and prosecute whoever told media about bunker visit: NYT

What's so dumb is that it's certainly protocol to rush the president to the bunker when there is a local threat. Most people would have no problem with that - it's expected. Trump denying it turned into a bigger news story.

Trump denying it turned into a bigger news story. This is just one of the thousands of perfect examples of why I am very uncomfortable having Donald J. Trump as President. Yes, I disagree with him on policy issues and did not/will not vote for him based on that. If the GOP nominated and the American people elected a person with the same policy stances, that is the nature of our government and thus so be it. But this man has serious character issues that make him unfit to be President.

The guy wouldn't even help an 80-year-old man who fell in one of trump's properties and busted open his head. trump was there and witnessed it. trump was upset the man's bleeding head marred his wonderful marble floors.

I'm sure Pence and possibly Pelosi were also in bunkers somewhere because of the need to protect the chain of command. You didn't see either one of them making it into a story.

Trump Claims ‘Nobody Had Ever Heard Of’ Juneteenth Before He Made It ‘Very Famous’ President Trump took credit for popularizing Juneteenth in an interview with the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, stating that no one had ever heard of the June 19 holiday commemorating the emancipation of black slaves in the U.S. before he scheduled a political rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on that day, claiming, "I did something good: I made Juneteenth very famous." www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2020/06/18/trump-claims-nobody-had-ever-heard-of-juneteenth-before-he-made-it-very-famous/#68d2976a133eOMG! I forgot about the old guy bleeding on trump's ballroom floor. Now his conspiracy theory about the old man who fell after he was pushed by the cops makes sense. He had the audacity to bleed on the sidewalk making trump look bad! Consistency, who knew

If this were any other President, the bunker thing wouldn't necessarily be bad to me. Having a security team that protects the President is important, conceptually. Just because this one President is a mother fucker, doesn't mean we should let an angry mob put him in danger - if only for precedent reasons.

I wouldn't doubt that alot of people in America have never heard of it. My BFF was taken by surprise by it. And I was like wait, how could you never had heard of it? I think it all depends on one's sources of information and what kinds of things one does when they are out in the world. the only reason I'm aware of it was because for the last decade or so it has been part of the "programs" at various museums and other types of "arts" things during June. So, I would imagine if you hear/know about it depends on where you live and what kinds of "circles" you hang out in. I'd be willing to bet that a great many Trump supporters have no clue the day exists...

Your linked article pointed out the trump administration put out statements the past three years regarding Juneteenth. The idiot in the White House said "Oh really? We put out a statement? The Trump White House put out a statement?" Trump said when informed of this fact. "Ok, ok. Good." What an ass.

This would have been a nothing burger if trump had ignored the few people who tried to get under his skin. But he couldn’t leave it alone.

I would submit that nobody really has to try to get under Trump's skin. That is pretty much the default starting position.

Not only did they predict President Trump, they nailed one of the effects of his administration.

we will look back whistfully on Reagan, Bush and Obama's spendthrift years, as Trump gives bailout after bailout after cutting taxes repeatedly, as well.

Maybe he does have eyes in his bum. He is the classic schoolyard toddler bully -- picks on the weak, the vulnerable, those without a voice or defenses or the ability to fight back, because if he were to actually dare to fight someone his own size, he'd be on his keester so quick he'd never know what hit him. he has no control because he never had to -- he lashes out in any and every convenient direction because someone or something there he cannot control won't conform to the world as he knows it, and because he has the mentality of a child and no means to negotiate or compromise (and the so-called art of the deal has no meaning in real life) he tries to force things to bend to his way. He wouldn't know fairness and empathy if they hit him over the head with a five-iron.
His first two wives knew better. I think Melania is plotting an escape, either after the election or when Baron reaches age 18. She won't leave her son with him, but won't have the leverage to take him while crybaby is in charge.

Fact check: Trump falsely claims 'insurance reasons' prevented him from entering St. John's Church More than two weeks after his controversial photo-op outside a Washington, DC, church, President Donald Trump offered a new explanation last week for why he didn't enter St. John's Episcopal Church. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday Trump said there were "a lot of insurance reasons" for why he couldn't go in. That isn't true. www.cnn.com/2020/06/20/politics/fact-check-trump-st-johns-church-photo-op-insurance/index.htmlLies piled atop lies which are piled atop other lies.

Those who did not like Bush were just as bad as they are with tRump being hustled down to the bunker. This is the Secret Service’s job, to keep him safe. While there are lots of things to be pissed about, IMO this is not one of them.

Are they laughing at him for his infantile attempts to explain it away? Absolutely. Are they horrified or angry that he thinks reporting simple, benign facts is worthy of prosecution? Yes. All he does is show more reasons why he is neither mentally nor temperamentally fit to be president.

Actually I think he is setting the stage in case he loses come November. If he does it will go to the courts because he will claim voter fraud. He will lose there too unless something really weird happens during the election, and than the trumpies will be poised and foaming at the mouth ready to take up arms for him ---- at least that is what I think trump wants to accomplish with this. I don't really think (yet) that he will succeed, but he is trying to set the stage.
