Sorry to hear about your mother's passing bobcatkitty.
Last night we had leftovers. Tonight DH will grill burgers when he gets home. I'll make the rest of the bag of sweet potato fries and a salad to go with them.
Saturday night I'm having the leftover teriyaki chicken while DH is away for the night for a bachelor party.
Sunday night I don't know yet.

Garlic herb chicken with rice and broccoli. Or squash. I haven't decided yet.

MJ arrived for the weekend tonight, and was starving. she's got an open water swim in the am, so we went to an Italian place to carb load for her. my arm didn't need much twisting the place we went tonight is the one I used to go to for lunch on Mondays on my way in to work, back when I was on 2nd shift. I haven't been in probably a year and a half. solid Italian-American options, but not my go-to for Italian. for starters, it's over the bridge, off Cape. that doesn't fly in the summer, probably wouldn't have happened tonight if it hadn't been raining all day. our entrees came with side salads and bread. I got a glass of Chianti, MJ will join me with a beverage tomorrow wherever we end up for dinner. she got spaghetti and meatballs, I got linguini primavera aglio e olio, it was loaded with broccoli, summer squash, zucchini. we both boxed up more than we actually ate, and now have leftovers for lunch tomorrow or Sunday before heading to the beach. tab was $42 before tip.

I've been picking at things today. not sure I actually had a real meal. MJ and I ended up at the sports bar to watch a 4pm Sox game. I grabbed a broccoli popper appetizer ($7) and a large veggie pizza to go ($16). I had two slices of pizza after we came home and turned into couch potatoes. leftovers will become breakfast on the train next week.

I made everyone happy tonight. Earlier I fried me 2 catfish, yum good.
I made hubs, medium rare filets, baked potato, sliced avocados, mac salad, he was a happy camper.
Made DD and grandson oriental. They had chicken stir fry with rice. Little guy ate hardy, he was hungry, hubs wore him out, he took a nap and we had trouble waking him up. DD was happy too. I ate a small bowl it was good. He had not been eating enough, he would eat it but I knew he would like something like that. Have enough left for his and her lunch tomorrow and luncheon meats for hubs. I bought snack packs of cheese crackers and fruits for the kids. And little guy will eat oranges, grapes, and apples, he likes that.
Had a piece of chicken left so fried it for BJ. He will eat it raw, he does squirrels and things but he likes it cooked better, will mix with some dog food.
I have peaches thawing and pie crust, going to whip up a cobbler, hubs can eat tonight or tomorrow.

MJ and I stopped on the way home from the ferry back from Nantucket, there's a beautiful location overlooking the water near where she used to live back in college when she was an intern at the place I call the train wreck job. it's changed hands a few times since she lived here, and the current iteration is a 2nd location of a really good Italian place. the plate in the pic was my dinner tonight, I've got half for lunch tomorrow. it was lightly battered, pan-fried chicken with roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, artichoke hearts and asparagus in a beurre blanc over linguini. it was amazing, and so huge a plate. we brought home the last of a bottle of dry Italian red wine, I'm working on that now as I unwind. I'm going to sleep like a log tonight.

No way I'd do all that. Take yourself a break. At least till you are feeling better.

Friday night we ended up having take out with DH's family. The guys were running around doing pick ups of big bulky items that needed multiple people to carry. Our shed is in the back yard awaiting assembly.
Saturday I got take out. DH was out at a party. I ate the planned leftovers for lunch.
Sunday we had a birthday party for DH's dad. I frosted the remaining cupcakes from earlier in the week as our contribution and brought vodka for cocktails.
Tonight will be spaghetti and salad.
I will also probably make a pan of chicken enchiladas on Wednesday.
We have two evening events and party prep for the massive party Saturday this week. That is probably the extent of my cooking dinner this week.

working through leftovers. tonight I'll have the rest of Friday's pasta primavera aglio e olio. I have a Turkey breast tenderloin to roast (half for the pasta, half for a salad another day) and I have a ton of veggies in the fridge that I can roast to bulk up the plate if needed. I can't remember how much was left of that meal.
breakfast now on the train is cold pizza, and lunch is last night's leftovers and a pear. going to see if I can get away with spending as little as possible this week. the weekend was pricey for food, even though that's all I spent $ on.

I don't do that often. The mac salad was a leftover so hubs was easy. the stir fry didn't take long, mainly chopping the veggies, I have a rice maker. And I was craving some fish I had not planned to cook, saw them when I was moving freezer stuff. I suppose an hour in all to cook. I haven't been doing much good cooking lately and everyone, including me was hungry last night. Tonight, likely leftovers again.

Supper will probably the cheese, spinach and onion quiche and salad. The quiche turned out great in the cast-iron pan.

Spaghetti got made on Monday. Last night we ate at the baseball stadium.
Tonight I'm making a pan of chicken enchiladas.
Thursday we will get something quick. Or maybe leftovers. DH wants to be early for our evening event.
Friday night guests will be in town for our party so maybe something with them?

last night for dinner, I sauteed chicken tenders with a bunch of chili seasonings. sister chopped two romaine hearts into a bowl with a bunch of other veggies that needed to be used up. she and I shredded some chicken on top of big salads, and I have leftovers to pick from for a couple days. salads were dressed with a spicy lime vinaigrette she mixed up and needs to write out for me.
tonight for dinner, I'm probably going to finish off the salad greens/veggies and reheat some pizza leftover from Saturday so it doesn't go to waste.

I was peeling potatoes for mashed potatoes when a friend dropped in with falafel and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Nice.

I'm making some barbecue for hubs for sandwiches. The rest have leftovers of oriental I cooked last night, so easy dinner. My stomach is upset, likely from the KFC today I was craving, now not so much.
Good day but I'm tired just the same.

Dinner sooooo good. Our first garden ripe tomato, fresh squash and zucchini. Frozen corn from the freezer and left over barbecue. Grandson was so tired he went to sleep, I'm not bothering him, if he wakes up he can eat if not told hubs just let him sleep for the night.
I lay around most of the day and slept most of the afternoon. I don't think it will bother me sleeping tonight either.

last night I made turkey piccata, about 1.5lb of turkey breast meat and enough pasta for last night's dinner and one more portion. weekend guest and I had a plate each, and I have the rest to pick from over the week. will either roast veggies to pair, or slice over salads.
tonight, I think I want to pick up some fish and pair with roasted veggies. that will depend if I get home early enough to hit the market. fish will likely run $4-5, veggies are all whatever was on sale.

Corn on the cob. All week. I already creamed 2 bushels worth and froze it a couple of weekends ago and now Mom decided I needed half a bushel to just eat. She must love corn way more than me.

More party leftovers tonight. I grabbed some lettuce at the store and chopped some of the leftover vegetables from the veggie tray for a salad. I'm going to say $1.
We have plenty of meat left for Tuesday night as well. I'll need to figure out another side to go with salad.

DH wanted a break from leftovers so he's picking up Chinese. I will make the rest of it tomorrow before the show. I'll make macaroni and cheese and a salad to go with the leftover bbq meat.
DH is paying tonight. I'll say $2.50 for Wednesday.

I ended up reheating leftovers last night by the time I got home and settled. tonight, I baked off the cod with a mix of chili seasonings and paired with some "Fiesta Rice" from Knorr that I wanted to clean out of the pantry. I doctored that up with onion, garlic, chopped cilantro, a can of diced tomatoes w/chilies and the end of a red bell pepper from last week. pic because the rice looks amazing. it's salty AF, and whatever is left is going in the bin tonight for pickup tomorrow. I thought ahead and did not add salt anywhere else.

Fun with leftovers this week! Monday I disassembled a leftover deli sandwich from a club outing and put the turkey and Swiss cheese on top of baby spinach which needs to be used up. I added kalamata olives, a few almonds and cherry tomatoes, and topped everything with a homemade vinaigrette. Yum. Last night I reheated chili con queso from February with a little heavy whipping cream to loosen it up. I made homemade tortilla chips out of a few tortillas for DH, and served pork rinds for me. Tonight is a a funky mix of leftover enchilada spiced chicken with veggies from last month (?). I'll saute some of the baby spinach and serve the chicken and veggies on top.
DH decided to grill ground venison and sausage burgers instead of pork chops tomorrow. Am thinking they will go nicely with the hand picked asparagus given to us by our neighbors a few months ago. Wonder what Friday will bring?

I drew the cooking line at ground beef and wilted spinach for the pups. I'll IP some chicken in the next day or so, purchased this am. today just kicked my ass.
dinner tonight was a Caesar salad and an order of broccoli cheddar poppers at the sports bar. I needed a little grease and a little healthy. there's a little of both in each option. I'm probably dozing off on the couch while the meat cools enough to pack in plastic, then I'm going to bed.
