Well my eating went to hell in a handbasket yesterday with the superbowl. What a poor excuse! I have off of work today, so I'm going to up my exercise.

I am feeling so puffy today. So many finger foods last night.

H and I went out on Saturday and I let myself enjoy 2 drinks at dinner, appetizer, and entrée. But I did end up logging it - I was 1,600 calories OVER what I supposedly had worked off on Sat! Yikes! No wonder I was gaining weight at the rate I had been going before. I ate a few things on Sun morning & afternoon, but really wasn't hungry until dinner. I think my body was still trying to process all that I'd given it the night before.
Weight is up 1lb. So now I have 10.5 lbs to go to hit my goal. I've not missed a day on my steps and only missed a few days on my distance tracking. Trying to aim for 1,600-1,800 calories per day with a deficit of 400-600. I took my 2 week pictures and I really didn't see much of a difference yet. But I can tell that I am changing - I can stay jogging for 10+ minutes now. Really ready for warmer weather so I can run outside (I missed my chance this weekend - dang kids).

I got out yesterday and enjoyed some of our nice sunny weather. Hoping to take a walk here in a bit when I break for lunch.
Saturday I barely got 4,000 steps in. I ended up going to visit my grandparents and between all the driving and playing cards, I barely moved! Oh, and lunch consisted of cheesy potato soup and 2 biscuits. Because, why not?
Today's lunch is vegetable soup and salad. Gotta make up for slacking on the diet so much recently!

I try not to skip gym days because the non gym days aren't really very active for me.

I think I'm going to try those ready to eat tuna pouches and keep them at my desk. I can bring salads from home for lunch and put them on top, or I can just have one as a snack. I have to go replenish my oatmeal stash for my desk. I'll browse a little.

January 1 - 141
January 7 - 141 January 14 - 140.5
January 21 - 139.5
February 4 - 140.5
In a way it's amazing that although I haven't been tracking calories at all, I didn't balloon up. Right now I am dealing with peak season at work, and doing estate planning for my 92-y/o Dad, so stress.
In the two weeks I didn't post, I xc skied, ran, snow shoveled, did handweight reps, planks, yoga, Airdyned and walked.
Now for some freakin' portion control...Excelsior!

It is going to be like spring today (62 and sunny) so I'm going to take advantage and head up to the track at the park. I plan on just walking but I'm tempted to test my hip and a slow jog for a few minutes. Tomorrow is my rest day, anyway.

I want to make these avocado fries tonight. www.skinnytaste.com/avocado-fries-with-lime-dipping-sauce/Only problem is the dipping sauce. I'm lactose intolerant, so yogurt isn't my friend and I try not to eat mayo. Anyone have an idea for a better dipping sauce? I guess I could just eat them plain too. I love avocado, so I'm totally down with it.

Andi, no idea on a substitute dipping sauce, but those look good!
I took a walk at lunchtime today, because it's almost 60* again today. It's also 92% humidity. Sooooo, all that time I spent on my hair this morning and now it's a frizzy mess! Thank god it's long enough for a ponytail.

I went for an actual jog yesterday. Pretty happy that I got a full mile in without stopping at all. Now to get it warm enough that I can go more often. Tonight it was icy so back to inside laps. I think I've flushed out the saltiness of my dinner on Sat down 1lb and even my EOD weight yesterday and today were decent. My 4yr old hopped on the scale after me the other day and proudly exclaimed "Wow! I weigh four 8s! I'm getting super big!" Lol! Kid hadn't triggered the full weight recognition. Hahaha!

Good job, Sam_2.0! Hubs went with me on a walk yesterday. Slow (only averaging a 16 minute mile) but it was so lovely out! Also felt good to get moving outside. Felt good while walking but felt some joint stiffness as the night wore on, which is understandable. I'm really hoping that when spring arrives I'll be walking regularly and able to ease back into running. I'm a glutton for punishment but I'm still not ready to fully give up on running, as much as I say I need to. I love it too much, even though it stopped loving me back. I can't help it. Hubs is training for another 50k next month and did 15 miles on Sunday, so I'm just happy he chose to walk with me instead of going on a run. We don't do that enough together.

I'm so not a runner. I am going to try some new leg exercises though. My upper thighs need some help. The rest of my legs are fabulous, I just need to get my thighs together. Ugh.

Oh my lort. 50k? That's a level of crazy I just can't comprehend
My body seems to be happiest when I get in 5-8 miles per day, including total steps not just jogging. So far I've hit my 5mi goal each day for a month. I may have to increase it here soon. Last night I was home with the kids alone while H was out, and I got in nearly 2 miles just between getting them fed and into bed. So many times up and down those stairs, lol!

He's insane. He did his first trail 50k in December and it ended up being 33 miles instead of 31, ugh. I also wanted him to sign up for the 25k instead of jumping straight from trail 10k to 50k. But at least he's not talking about an ironman?

checking back in here, got back from the cruise last night. as expected, food intake was minimal and chiver was powered by titos and soda. I started each morning with a toasted English muffin under two over easy eggs, and a couple strips of bacon. grabbed a few snacks here and there, but basically gave up on eating after breakfast for the most part. the one night I tried a fancy dinner with my big group, I ended up needing a dose of Benadryl midway through my Caprese salad - I'm sorry, but there is zero reason I should have to worry about cross contamination for fish in any of the ingredients of a Caprese. as far as moving around, one of my friends reported that her fitbit-style tracker recorded that she walked over 10mi the one day she had it on her person all day. we basically run from show to show from noon til we drop. so there's that. and, well, all the stairs b/c who has time to wait for the elevator? not entirely sure how to quantify the um, bonus cardio, either. I did a quick weight check this morning, and I was still at 208 - that's going to come down once I flush out the salt I managed to consume with breakfasts. last year, I think it was 6lbs of salt bloat. all of my clothes are looser than when I got onboard, so I know that number is coming down at some point.

So I’ve had a major set back with a blood clot in my right shoulder causing an Emergency surgery. I won’t be able to do any planks or most core exercises for awhile. Absolutely no arm weight lifting.
I’ll have to re-evaluate my step goals also.
I’m going to have to focus on my calorie intake.

This is my second day of trying intermittent fasting. Yesterday went well after I got over the anxiety of the thought that I might get hungry. I am trying to just eat between 9 and 6. I hope to lose some weight that way because it seems like some days I just eat non stop.

I started tracking my calories in Sparkpeople again. Even though I eat healthy most of the time, I eat too much. I'm about 4 lbs heavier than I should be. When you're 5 ft tall, that's a lot.

I hope to lose some weight that way because it seems like some days I just eat non stop. I did some more reading on this yesterday and it seemed like 12 hour fasting periods were acceptable periods and often recommended started periods before moving on to 16 hour fasting periods. Just wanted to throw that out there as a possibility. Im thinking about incorporating that as late night snacking can be a real issue.

I figured since my break at work is at 9 am that I would start eating then. I figured it wouldn't be an exact set time at night since sometimes I don't get back from taking care of my parents until 7 pm. And I am not going to beat myself up if I need to eat after that as long as it is low calorie.

Weekly check in.a Hit step goal by 7000. Weight is slowly moving in correct direction. This week's goal step goal is 80000. Watch carbs. Had my annual physical this week and my fasting blood sugar is too high. I have 25 more days until it is checked again. So I am going to concentrate on watching carbs, increasing activity and losing weight. Knee Deep in Water Chloe Glad you are recovering. Please take it easy for a few days to allow your body to heal. A couple things I have noticed just 3 days into intermittent fasting is that my stomach doesn't feel awful from overeating and I really don't feel as hungry as I usually do. I'm kinda liking it starting out anyway. And I don't have to fix as many meals also.

Had to work tonight, so I paced the kitchen and my room while I kept moving the mouse, lol. Made terrible food choices the past few days, but did better today. Let's hope the weight goes back down here soon. These damn GS cookies will be my downfall.
If anyone wants a Fitbit buddy lmk. Or can we buddy up on Stridekick too? I've been using Fitbit to track everything and it's pretty easy.
