You lost in the first sentence. He was banned by the president because of his disruptive behavior. He was allowed to ask his question and was answered no 1st Ammendment right violated. If he didn't act like a child (like most people who dislike Trump) and handed over the microphone maybe Jimmy would still be allowed in to play. I'm all for letting the courts decide. LOL. You lost in your first sentence. trump hated the guy before Acosta even asked the first question. trump has been insulting him for months. Virgil Showlion -note endnkris misspelled the word 'amendment'. The spell check on the tablet did that. Doesn't matter if he liked the guy. He still called upon him...no loss of his rights

I've never used spellcheck so forgive my ignorance, but doesn't it usually err by changing things to a different correctly-spelled word rather than making up a new misspelled one?

One of the reasons people don't don't like Trump is because HE acts like a child. A giant, petulant, sulking and bad-tempered child who lies a lot. A whiney, spoiled brat who complains about how he’s treated so “unfairly”.....

I'm sure it was a liberal activist judge that did it.

Doesn't matter this whole stunt could have been avoided by Trump just "freezing the guy out". By that I mean he should have never called on him or CNN again.
I'm wondering if CNN got a bump in their ratings from all of this.

I'm sure it was a liberal activist judge that did it. Kelly was appointed to the bench by Trump last year, and confirmed with bipartisan support in the Senate. (from the link above) This is the type of garbage you get when you don't nominate judges who could only be confirmed on a straight partisan vote.

I... see. So we basically make the entire country one giant safe space. And hope the executive branch doesn't do anything too crazy while we're not looking. Sounds like a winning strategy. You've got my vote. I hope you can appreciate the irony in this suggestion coming from the man who's done more than almost any other member to call attention to, drag out, and otherwise magnify threads by the most divisive Republican posters on the board. In fact, if memory serves, your rationale for chasing every bone and biting every hook was that lies, distortions, and whatnot need to be loudly condemned by truth-loving citizens such as yourself so that no untruth shall go unchallenged. Or... we can just ignore it all and report on skateboarding dogs. Either or. To be fair, even if we accept that characterization, those lies are already out there so of course must be challenged, as people like Acosta are doing in real life. And if people get called out or shamed often enough they may reconsider their tactics. This would be about preventing the lie from being promulgated in the first place. Kind of like when new board members on some boards have to have their posts moderated before they get posted. You know, to prevent the trolls and crackpots from being allowed an audience in their attempts to corrupt the debate. Trump is both troll and crackpot. He should be banned. So you're talking about a hypothetical reality where the entire press gallery--pro-Trump agencies included--decide unanimously to boycott WH press briefings, and the WH can find no agencies to replace them, and all WH staff and pro-Trump politicians and congressional staff are blacklisted from all communication outlets (including Twitter, town hall forums, etc.), and CNN reporting on the US executive branch would read something like: Friday, WASHINGTON - Sources in America's peanut industry report that premium peanut butter is now subject to a $0.30/lb. excise tax, presumably instituted by the Trump White House earlier this month. We don't know why the taxes are being levied, but we think it may be because Pres. Trump hates peanuts. When asked for comment, 200 definitely-not-cherry-picked Twitter users expressed stark disapproval of the presumptive policy: [insert twits here] ... I guess we're all entitled to dream of a better future.

As for your tablet's spell check: it's not your friend if it fucks up like that. Before criticizing me for "poynting out others speling errs", consider that when those spelling errors appear in a quotation, not only is the original statement not being faithfully reproduced, the quotes emphasize the misspelling, making it appear as though the referrer is mocking the referent for a mistake he didn't actually make. Misspellings not in quotations I ignore unless they obscure the meaning of the sentence (e.g. "Pres. Trump is a trader to the American people.") or are oft repeated. I misspell things like anyone else, and this is the standard I hope others would use for me.

At least the other posters don't blame their computer's spellcheck program for misspelling an easily spelled word.

Oh you be so smart...ammendment...amendment I just spelled it wrong and my spellchecker accepted it. I get chuckle out of people who point out little errors of others like it's such a major issue. It just show how petty and shallow the person can be. So if it Makes you feel better about yourself go ahead and point out my grammer errors, you can feel all relevent and I will get my chuckle

It is not misspelling a word that makes one look like an idiot. Blaming your spell checker for it though...?

It is not misspelling a word that makes one look like an idiot. Blaming your spell checker for it though...? All it takes is accidentally clicking 'Add' instead of 'Replace' once when running through any document, and Mr. Spell Checker OK's every future instance. I had it happen to me once with 'Breitbart'. I or somebody else had added 'Brietbart' to the PC dictionary, and I took it as the correct spelling for quite some time. As for the spell checker changing correctly spelled words to nonexistent ones, you're the only one who's suggested the concept. When somebody blames a spelling error on a spell checker, it's more reasonable to assume they're blaming its whitelisting of misspelled words--the same way I blame my spell checker for 1.5 years of 'Brietbart'.

It seems the White House is not through with this event yet...it seems they sent Acosta a note demanding a response by DFiday...with their making a ruling by Monday....thus CNN getting involved again and asking, if I read article correctly, for a permanent injunction of their, White House, releaving Acosta of his "hard" pass...as long as he doesn't violate what ever new regs they come up with....though it seems those regs may be challenged in court by different media outlets... Never a dull moment in the "Donalds daily soap opera".... [sheesh already...enough..] ------------------------------------------------- "WASHINGTON — CNN’s legal team says that a new Trump administration effort to revoke Jim Acosta’s hard pass again violates his constitutional rights. The news network is asking for a hearing next week, but one could come sooner." ---------------------------------------- www.yahoo.com/news/cnn-objects-white-house-effort-140715937.html------------------------ It seems the White House has told CNN's Acosta he will be banned again in two weeks...Seems to me more time is being spent on this "Bruha" then the job of administering to the Countries business....and no I don't believe the Donald and friends are up to multi tasking...anything but....Just saying and observing. ----------------------------------------------------- "White House officials have reportedly made it clear to CNN’s Jim Acosta that the court-mandated temporary restoration of his press pass will be just that: temporary. CNN reported on Sunday night that the White House had sent a letter to Acosta stating his press pass would be suspended again once the restraining order that required them to reinstate his credentials expires at the end of the month.White House officials have reportedly made it clear to CNN’s Jim Acosta that the court-mandated temporary restoration of his press pass will be just that: temporary. So they released their rules. secondnexus.com/news/new-white-house-press-conference-rules/I would think this won't pass muster, but not sure. On the upside, trump is all for imposing restrictive limits to constitutional amendments. Soooo... only one question per journalist for the 1st amendment, does it follow the only one rule can be applied to the 2nd?

I don't think Trump even has to hold press conferences,, All he would need to do is call in one of his favorite journalist give them the story! That's what has happened to our town hall meetings,, they are now held by phone!

Of course he has to. Not by law, but his ego demands it.
