Let's just put it this way, speaking to a good chunk of P/CE: Pres. Trump just declared what you yourselves have openly said about Third World nations. You'll forgive me if "How dare he let the Third World know what we think of them." doesn't rouse my anger.Out of curiosity....would you have felt this same way if Obama or Clinton had made this statement, or would it all of a sudden have been a deplorable thing to say? the day i start expecting as little of my president as i do of myself is the day i die.

Why is deportation 'cruel'? If their countries aren't shitholes, why do they want to come here-- and why are so many illegals who have overstayed visa or whose status is expiring, here as a result of "temporary protective" status?

Then Trump should have said "why don't we attract more educated immigrants who can immediately contribute to our country?"
And he should have already apologized for his unfortunate choice of words in his original comment.
You'll notice the WH hasn't apologized or tried to put a different 'spin' on this.
Trump was upsetting the racist segment of his base with all his DACA talk - plus he hadn't said anything outrageous in a good two days - do he dropped this turd in the punch bowl to reassure his white supremist voters that he hasn't forgotten them.
trump's denying it now. Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump on Friday denied describing certain nations as "shithole countries" during a meeting in which he rejected a bipartisan deal on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. "The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made - a big setback for DACA!" Trump tweeted Trump denies making 'shithole countries' comment I'm surprised it took him this long to deny it. Usually he's a bit quicker.

Him being direct and to the point and all that shit. I think it's only when the US Ambassador's to multiple countries in Africa started being summoned to be asked if Trump was referring to their country as a "shithole" that he thought to deny he said it. When he and the administration realized that there might be some consequences other than just bad press.

First, there were seven likes to that post, not nine. There were nine originally. I can count. The security log doesn't track 'likes' and un-likes, so I can't tell who the culprits are, but obviously somebodies are conducting a little historical revision. "Taking things out of context" only begins to describe this.... The context is right there, in the link I posted. And it doesn't change the fact that there were 9 big likes by members who don't want their taxes paying for mudhole third world countries, which they clearly don't mind calling mudhole countries. Well, it's still early but there have already been six likes for my post arguing against your interpretation, including two of your original seven. Are you going to contend that those people agree with you? And again, I would suggest that most if not all were liking the part of the post that you did not quote originally: That their objection was not primarily to donations to poor countries but rather that we are doing so at the expense of poor parts of our own with money that we borrowed in the first place. I notice that you cut out that part here as well. Coincidence? We have discussed before the cutting out of irrelevant parts of quotes. I do it too, so have no problem with it, but you are cutting out relevant parts that argue against your interpretation. Attempting to control the narrative by limiting what is being discussed may be acceptable in some circles, but not in any that value real discussion.

"Sh**hole" comment from a "sh**head" person. I am not at all surprised at that. I AM surprised that there are still ANY people in this country who still try to defend that disgusting piece of sh**. The only way to take that is that those people are equally disgusting. #Sad

Just listened to Ryan's statement on what Trump said. WTF! He talked about his ancestors coming from Ireland and said that is not necessarily a bad thing - he never tied it back to Trump saying citizens from Sh!t hole countries need not apply to come to the US - Unless you are willing to be a Temporary Worker Cleaning Toilets at Mar-a-lago and then will return back from whence you came in the off season. Only White Educated Europeans are worthy of applying for Citizenship in the US.
It's like Ryan took a page from a Trump Playbook - when called upon to explain something you have no defense for - Change the Subject!

I consider the entire Middle East to be a shithole. I'll admit it. However, I am not the POTUS and have nothing to do with leading this country. He suggested we need new immigrants from places like Norway. You know, white folks. Hitler II is emerging more and more each day. or, not because they're white, but because we have a largely shared value system and cultural norms? nah, can't be that, better to assume rampant racism. everyone knows the Zimbabwe is every bit as civilized as norway I'm good with bringing in a huge Norweigian population. They will vote for people who raise taxes, provide high quality government health care to everyone, push for massive change in worker's rights and change how business is done in favor of more family and personal time. They will fund public schools all the way through college education, and demand more from their government. Except that weird Jewish thing, we could flood this country with a whole bunch of Bernie Sanders! You want American values - People who will work 80 hours a week, people who don't care that much about education, and probably don't see the need for college, people who are used to their government officials being corrupt and not fighting for them, people who don't expect much in the way of services - bring in the poorest, saddest, hungriest people from the countries that are war torn and struggling. But Norwegians - pfft - they won't stop until every homeless person is taken care of by government funding. But really, Norweigians is code for white.

I liked that post & the country I am tired of sending money to is Israel. They can easily afford to support themselves unlike some other countries. I don't have a problem with helping 3rd world countries move forward & become better. I do have a problem with a country that can easily support itself, but still takes literally BILLIONS of our tax dollars so it can be a bully in the Middle East. I would rather feed starving kids in Africa & help rebuild other countries than sending our tax dollars over to Israel so they can kill Palestinians & threaten/destabilized the Middle East.

Norweigans aren't going to give up their quality of life to move here. We don't offer even 1/10th of what they have there. They are fine paying higher taxes when they get free healthcare, free education, free day care, & EVERYONE gets a pension at 65. There's nothing here we can offer them.

So basically, the U.S. is the shithole country? I’d be interested to hear from ABO and any others what these “shared cultural values” we desire in immigrants are. We’re a very diverse country already, with just about all of us descending from immigrants at some point, so if we’ve been able to establish across-the-board values in our non-homogeneous population, that’s impressive. I’d consider the rule of law to be one, but am having trouble coming up with any others.

LOL....I suggested somewhere here earlier..I thought he would be in touch with the Republicans who were at the meeting, ones he feels he can control [ knows he can't control Graham] and tell them just to keep their mouth shut..and if questioned about his statement..just say can't recall or never heard such a thing.... Guess what...two Rerpublican Senators have done just that...Graham sticking to his story as is the Democrat too....Can u believe these gutless ones..no balls, if up for reelection hope whoever the Dem is running against use this to show how much under the Donalds thumb they are...might hurt or help...depending on the State I guess...

CNN is reporting the Trump is proud of his statement and enjoying the attention it is garnering.
So, the Narcissist-in-Charge puts all of our workers in those shithole countries in danger, yet enjoys the fact that people are paying attention to him and his valuable words. Lord...

Senator Durbin much more convincing for me...going to the mat on what the Donald said in the meeting about Haiti and African countries...no doubt about it...what the man said.. -------------------------------------------- Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) fired back at President Trump for denying that he called Haiti, El Salvador and African countries “shithole countries,” saying Trump’s denials are “not true.” “In the course of his comments, [Trump] said things that were hate-filled, vile and racist,” Durbin told reporters on Friday. “I cannot believe in this history of the White House, in that Oval Office, any president has ever spoken the words that I personally heard our president speak yesterday.” Durbin was one of several lawmakers in the meeting, during which Trump referred to Haiti and African nations as “shithole countries,” according to The Washington Post. “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump reportedly said. Trump then suggested the U.S. should bring in more immigrants from countries like Norway. Durbin told reporters that Trump’s comments as reported by the Post were accurate. “You’ve seen the comments in the press,” Durbin said. “I’ve not seen one of them that’s inaccurate. To no surprise, the president started tweeting this morning, denying that he used those words. It is not true. He said these hate-filled things, and he said them repeatedly.” Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) were also present in the meeting and were surprised by Trump’s remarks, the Post reported. Durbin told reporters that Graham “spoke up” when Trump made the remark. He praised Graham for his “political courage.” "My colleague [Graham] spoke up and made a direct comment on what the president said,” Durbin said, according to MSNBC. “For him to confront the president as he did, literally sitting next to him, took extraordinary political courage and I respect him for it." ===================================== thehill.com/homenews/senate/368686-durbin-fires-back-at-trump-denial-he-said-those-hateful-things-and-he-said?__twitter_impression=true

Lie for a Liar or call a Democrat a Liar. Ok, I will sink down to his level and say I can't recall or I have no comment.
Everyone knows that means - He said exactly what has been reported.
I wonder how much Blackmail is going on in this administration. Not Horse Trading, outright Blackmail.
Republicans are going against their normal Principals to support what the Donald Wants. It makes no sense.
I think that is why so many republicans have announced they won't be running for re-election. They don't want to be blackmailed to do things against their principals. I believe they are hoping if a new person gets in there, the Republican Establishment won't have anything to blackmail a newbie with, so they can stand up to them.

Something I've always wanted to ask.
For those that rabidly support Israel & see it as "God's land", how do you justify to yourselves that abortion is well regulated & legal there? How can you not support a US candidate that is pro-choice, but unequivocally support a country that abortion is legal? You don't want to pay for birth control for US women, but you have no issue with our tax dollars supporting a country that has legal abortion.

I'm good with bringing in a huge Norweigian population. They will vote for people who raise taxes, provide high quality government health care to everyone, push for massive change in worker's rights and change how business is done in favor of more family and personal time.
