No Sprouts here. I could check around but Safeway tends to have the best produce. They are also not cheap. Same price right now at Wegman's. I feel like every time Aldi draws me in with cheap produce in an ad I leave disappointed because the quality is just not there compared to my usual stores.

I made meatballs and really spiced up and added veggies to some home made spaghetti sauce, hubs and DD were very happy with it. It was good, no bread or salad though, should have done that too.

A hamburger done on the George Forman grill, with a little bit of cojack, and mustard, on a Sandwich Thin, with a ginormous Romaine lettuce leaf, plain greek yogurt instead of mayo, and I sprinkled the yogurt with Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel mix. It was better than I expected.
WW weigh-in is tomorrow and I'm not expecting it to be a good one. I had way too much fun this past week.

so I think I'm going to chalk this week up to prepping my body for the gawdawful food on the boat, eating small bites over the day, and going from there.
I had a hearty plate of bruschetta raviolis for brunch (I regularly eat twice a day if actual meals...) and then the rest of the day picked at a Caesar salad, a bowl of "Natures Promise" chicken noodle soup (supposedly cleaner eating via grocery store prepared foods) and then just had a bowl of Kraft dinner as I waited to hear back that everyone not actually sleeping in my house tonight made it home safely. I got home around 930 to realize I was conspicuously sober in a group of friends that aren't all local...and on a night that I would typically stop at the dive bar, I said well, let's go up the street. I brought entertainment to the staff, I got a couple drinks for free, and now I'm home and just waiting to be tired. last night's atrocious sleep pattern has pretty much screwed me for the rest of the week. here's hoping I can get everything done that I need to before I leave on Sunday morning.

This weekend I am hoping to be able to clear a few more things out of the freezer for meals. I am thinking some cheese tortellini and pesto. Maybe a breakfast shake to get some older berries gone and some type of frittata for some easy meals next week. chiver78 - enjoy your time on the boat next week.

I haven't been feeling quite right this week, for a number of reasons. cycles, stress, bullshit annoyances. all of that messes with my system.....it sucks. I'm high maintenance like that. anyway, lunch today was reheated cheese pizza from what I brought home last night from the dive bar. after an incredibly aggravating afternoon at work, I went out on a Target run for last-minute things I need for my vacation. on hte way back to hte office, which had already emptied out save for cleaners, security, boiler operator, I opted to stop at the Mexican place around the corner from work. dinner was a bowl of black bean soup, the standard basket of chips and salsa, and a tasty margarita that hit the spot and mellowed me out to go back to finish up a few things before packing up the laptop and clearing out for a week.
cost - $22. and worth every damn penny.

Went to my Uncle's wake last night. Leftovers... Cost 0 (DH wasn't exactly enthusiastic, but, oh well)
Tonight: Pork Tenderloin $4.32 (half of a b1g1) Sweet Potato $1.00 Salad: Est $.80 Peas: $.65 Might make some rolls...not feeling like it though. Yes, should be enough left over for two days worth of lunches.
Tomorrow: Chicken (not sure how I'll prepare it yet), Free as part of the Christmas gift from a friend. Salad. In the gift there were twice baked potatoes, so will use a couple of those. Not sure on the veggie yet.
Monday night is usually leftovers, but, there isn't much there, so... Shopping last week I got some free w/coupon tortillas. In the freezer I have some deeply discounted sausage. So I'm going to look around and see what might go into a Tex-Mex lasagna?

I had a lousy day yesterday so treated myself to some comfort food at Cracker Barrel last night. Nothing like a yummy hot roast beef dinner.

last night's dinner was a blackened redfish with garlic roasted potatoes, and it was outstanding. oh, and a hurricane. cost, about $30 including tip. going to have one last amazing meal here in New Orleans before getting on that boat with the atrociously salty bad food for 5 days.

Have a blast, Chive! This week's menu: Last night: Cheddar taco "shells" filled with ground beef, sour cream and a few olives. I made DH rice (free) and refried beans (Sam's Club bulk. I need to make more Budget Bytes Not Refried Beans soon). Total cost approx $6 for 3 servings of meat. Tonight is cod (on sale) and shrimp (ecoupon) night. I'll make tater bites for DH and zucchini (if it's still good ) fritters for both of us. Cost approx $10 Tomorrow night I'm going to make Cauliflower Grilled Cheese for the first time. I'm going to work with regular cheddar so I don't have to make a special trip to the store for white. I'll serve it with a side of romaine if it's still good, or green beans. Cost approx $4. I stocked up on store brand riced cauliflower when I went to the store a few weeks ago. The price wasn't near the product, and it ended up they were $2 a bag as opposed to the regular frozen veggie price of $1-$1.25! I need to stock up when they are on sale. Thursday DH is out of town, so I'm going to make Fat Head Pizza crust topped with pepperoni for me. Maybe. The way this week has been going I may drink my dinner. Cost for the pizza ingred approx $4. And the vodka is already in the freezer. Friday is take out from? Sat something easy as I'll be out volunteering most of the day. Sunday I'll ask DH to grill or smoke something. Have a fantastic week, friends.

Layer of cut raw chicken breast. cover with half jar of alfredo cover with uncooked lasagna noodles layer of ricotta, sprinkle of mozzarella and parmesan, and sprinkle with parsley
Another layer of the same.
Pour in about 1/2 milk for moisture.
Cook on low while at work.

I am finishing off the brown rice with roasted veggies and a piece of salmon.
Tomorrow is more eating out of the freezer. The weekend was really off on getting things done.

I had a care package from my neighbor so last night was pot roast with baby carrots and tiny potatoes. It was yummy. Tonight is dinner after choir. If we can get in to a new restaurant called the Cotton Patch we'll eat there, if not its back to Cracker Barrel. Either way, eating out is budgeted for each month so I'm comfortable with the number of times we go out.

I got chicken breast for .49 lbs. I usually don't buy it, but at that price felt I had to.
So last night was roasted chicken breast and homemade mashed potatoes. Tonight will be chicken noodle soup.

I made a mash up version of fried rice and added cooked veggies and some egg to it last night for dinner. The rice is done for now.
Tonight is going to be the cheese tortellini with pesto and and artichokes and tomatoes. Hopefully I will have enough for 2 meals.

We ate out tonight in Buffalo, NY, I had salmon with a sauce and topped with walnuts, and asparagus plus rice pelof. DD had a barbecued chicken sandwich and fries, hubs a ribeye steak with baked potato and salad and a very good salad. In the city north of us they are building a much much bigger Aldi's, the other was small, maybe this one will be one I will shop at.

I went to the laundromat today. There's a little hole in the wall African restaurant across the street. I bought some chicken and peanut stew and fried plantains.
Delicious!
About $10.00

I made chili. I was going to make corn bread, but DH is a yankee. Lol. He asked for garlic bread instead. Garlic bread doesn't really go with chili, but whatever.
The chili was great, and I had at least two servings for next week and one for the freezer.

I love cornbread. Can't get it here, not even the boxed kind you mix and bake yourself.

Monday already? Boo, hisssssss....
Last night DH smoked 2 pork tenderloin (bought BOGO last month) after marinading it in a homemade bourbon sauce. Num, num, num.... I served it with green beans on the side (.80), and DH got my leftover beans and rice from Friday's take out.
Tonight is going to be oven fried chicken drumsticks ($7.35), a side veggie ($1), and cottage cheese and fruit for DH (about .75).
Tomorrow night: Pot roast (BOGO last month) in the Crock Pot with a side veggie.
Wed: IDK yet. Leftovers maybe?
Thurs: Out w/ friends
Fri: Take out from?
Sat: Out with the fam
Sun: IDK yet
Have a fantastic week, everyone!

Sunday night was pizza and wings. I have no clue on cost, DH picked it up while I was out with friends.
Tonight I'm making chicken and broccoli pasta with lemon cream sauce from a Budget Bytes recipe.
I'll probably do tacos one night and leftovers another.
Thursday is black bean pulled chicken as I won't be home until 7.
I have a few things I'd like to try but I'm unsure if DH eats them. It's been a rough adjustment as I was the picky one between my brother and me.

I'm feeling way better today than yesterday, and after being able to hold.down cheezits on the plane this morning, I figured I would give pizza a shot since I had to come out somewhere to watch my college hockey team play a local tourney. I ordered it to go, expecting to maybe finish a slice.
lunch/dinners the rest of the week will largely consist of things made from items that didn't fit in the upright freezer once I had to consolidate the basement one.
