I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the John Podesta Russian ties thing. Or is that in another thread?

Didn't Podesta have pizza with Russian children?

Strap in. We'll see how reliable my source in DC is- wiretapping story is supposedly coming to a head within 24 hours. Not in a way Trump opponents hoped it would, either... Is that the same source who told you last summer Hillary Clinton only had a few more weeks to live and she was dying from terminal Parkinson's disease?

I think its far more likely that this will be one of the many lies that gets Trump to leave office. Was it in this thread or elsewhere that he accused the UK of spying on him as well?
I think he can't handle the stress and hours very well. He leaves the WH close to every weekend. That's beyond highly unusual. Its a symptom of someone who took on more than he can handle. My guess is he's trying to brute force things into his first 100 days. You're really clinging to that "trump leaving office" life raft, aren't you? It. Will. Never. Happen. Trump is the President of The United States, and he will likely be re-elected. Stow your gear, sit down, relax, and fasten your seat belt. You're on this ride now. I agree with Paul on this. And one of us is happy about it, and one of us is not.

Aren't you tired of that...'Just think what would happen if the X had done that?'
In the meantime, Trump has been crucifying the media.

In the meantime, Trump has been crucifying the media. It makes it nigh impossible to treat any Trump-Russia connections the media happens to dig up seriously. If they don't go after Mr. Podesta, and we assume they're objective, it means they believe his conflict of interest is either incidental, unimportant, or both. Hence if they succeed in unearthing a similar conflict of interest in Pres. Trump's campaign, they'll either have to treat it as incidental and unimportant, or (as I'm guessing will be the case) look like partisan hacks. Let's just say I doubt they'll need Pres. Trump's help to look bad.

Mr Podesta isn't sitting in the highest office in our country while possibly being compromised & under control of Russia. He's not holding an administrative position in our gov't while being compromised & open to blackmail like some of the administration's associates.
There's a big difference. One is running our country, the other isn't in any form of gov't.

There's some merit to the "John Podesta just isn't that important" argument. Even if we were to concede Ms. Clinton's post-election irrelevance (and by extension, Mr. Podesta's), these revelations still damage the case against Pres. Trump in two ways: - they lend credence to the idea that Russian ties, conflicts of interest, etc. are commonplace and therefore poor evidence of a greater conspiracy
- they lend credence to the idea that if Russia was indeed meddling in the election, they had more than one iron in the fire and were bartering with Ms. Clinton's campaign as well as Pres. Trump's
Also, I needn't point out that Ms. Clinton's detractors would still love to see her drawn and quartered. If the media doesn't pursue this, none of them will buy "Pres. Trump's campaign and presidency is important; Hillary Clinton's campaign isn't" as an excuse for discriminating between the two.

Virgil even the article's author concludes by stating that there is likely nothing to it. His main point is that were this one of Trump's minions the media would be all over it. There is probably some truth to that. After all, with what they have so far on suspicious Russian ties they (and the FBI!) will be investigating any Trump/ Russia connections. That is really not surprising? Am I surprised they don't particularly care about it? No. Do I believe their apathy is because Mr. Podesta's circumstances differ from Pres. Trump's? I believe it's a factor. Regardless of what I believe, is this going to be a huge thorn in their sides if ever they uncover e.g. Russian stock kickbacks to a member of Pres. Trump's campaign and cast it as evidence of collusion with the Russians? Absolutely. Mr. Podesta is known to Americans, he was the highest level official in Ms. Clinton's campaign, and his misconduct is alleged to have taken place in the heart of election season. It's one of those cases where the media would do well to fuss over him, even for a short while, to at least give the impression their goal is to expose corruption wherever it may lurk and not necessarily to destroy Pres. Trump.

I am thankful to have not woken up to 3 am tweets from President Trump on the subject. Perhaps there will be something of substance this time. Too much to ask?

Wow. OK, supporters of Pres. Obama. Watch the video in the article (a minute long) and explain what we're listening to if not the "admission" Paul is talking about. I got nothin'.

It took me five reads to figure out what you meant by this. I'm assuming it's: "Did anyone swallow Paul's 'coming to a head' post?" I still have faith in him. 24 hours was just a rough estimate. He'll have the beef for us soon enough.

I presume you didn't read my latest post, nor did any of you watch Hannity tonight? You're saying Evelyn Farkas is your source? Don't get me wrong; her comments seem pretty damning. I can't think of any way to construe them that looks positive for the Obama administration. But they don't prove wiretapping. They're merely evidence that Pres. Obama was in a race against time to hoard intel on Pres. Trump before Obama left office.

If you've got enough time to share bad satire, how about commenting on the interview with Ms. Farkas?
