I'm in mourning. I'm in mourning for a country that isn't what I thought. For friends who aren't what I thought. For the collapse I see every day as growing more inevitable. Grief has stages, which are not linear. But I'm processing them. I'm guessing I'll be done before you understand what hit you...

Not me. After seeing Nixon, I have some faith in our system. I am concerned, but should Trump over extend his authority and/ or go too cray cray, half the Republican caucus is already set to take him down. I am also concerned, because I think his foreign policy knowledge is limited, and his views in that regard are grossly simplistic. I also see an outsized influence by the military, and also some alt- right ideologues. Here he has some latitude to do some real damage. Domestically I think he is playing a sage and cunning game, and he is using press and publicity to keep everyone- and I mean everyone- off balance. But I think he is probably less harmful there, except to certain population segments. I am a Democrat. But I am not depressed. Of course I don't get depressed easily. It does no good. Shit, half the Republican party tried to take him down a year ago. Nothing new there Since your from Maine I would expect nothing less than not being depressed easily. It is the special snowflake group that is over the edge

I did duck and cover for the last 8 years. I worried that we, as a country, were headed in the wrong direction but I always figured I could weather it.

I did duck and cover for the last 8 years. I worried that we, as a country, were headed in the wrong direction but I always figured I could weather it. Agreed, but all we needed was a good night's sleep, and we were ready to go the next day holding discussions on our beliefs. This year, now that the shoe is on the other foot, the resulting tantrums and attacks against Republican values are without boundaries. Upon thinking about it the Democrats are just doing what they have been doing for thirty years. Trying to make America a third world socialist society.

Oh, I will weather it. I tend to think beyond myself. But this process is helping me to get over that...

So, is this approved by the AMA? Will the special snowflakes who need anti-depressants now have their prescriptions covered by their Obamacare?

From the last link: "Unique among Personality Disorders is PESD, a relatively new diagnosis, limited to members of the GOP, particularly those who are heavily involved in politics or who have recently run for higher office." So that explain's Valuebuy's behavior over the years.

Google is your friend people. What? Trump wins and suddenly you can't follow board rules?
If anyone makes an argument based on what other people say, it is basically common sense that that is provided in the OP. I read in my off time. I do not work for any poster TYVM.
What I see is hardening of resolve. I wonder what will be in my 'how to run for political office' packet from the local Democratic party?

So that explain's Valuebuy's behavior over the years. *I included that one as not to show bias. I make no claims or about particular members of this board, nor do I condone naming names. *I'm not getting in the middle of this particular discussion. I had a few moments so I googled. You did what the thread's author should have done in the first place with his opening post. Thank you for the links.

Some people might want to start investing in the stock markets and they might feel better. They will definitely have more money to donate to their charities that are out of gas and irrelevant.

You did what the thread's author should have done in the first place with his opening post. Thank you for the links. VB did site the morning news as his source. So I think he covered the requirement. His post was no better or worse than some of the threads I've seen that are started with: I think that people tend to get picky about sources depending on if they do or don't agree with the post. Only after being called on it by several posters and you doing what he should have done in the first place.

It's not (for me) that a particular candidate lost. It's that someone with absolutely NO experience in politics & international relations won. I fear for our country when an overly-confident newbie starts throwing his weight around. All of us will suffer the consequences when he starts REALLY screwing up. (A big concern I already have is how much we're paying for all of his weekends away from DC. Don't even want to think what the total could be. Financially responsible, indeed!)

Apparently Bannon told someone from Germany the admin is anti eu and then pence takes a tour saying we are pro eu... They don't know what the hell they are doing, besides trying to deal oil with Russia...

I'm very concerned that there are people who think his word salad speeches are "refreshing." I don't know about you, but I don't want someone who is barely literate running our country.
I also don't want someone who is prone to temper trantrums, tweets his fleeting thoughts, and doesn't understand the concept of checks and balances in charge either.

Only after being called on it by several posters and you doing what he should have done in the first place. But still ok with the other threads that don't cite links? I think you are one of the more helpful posters who lend a hand and help out the OP, why help for some and criticize others? Why should I help someone whose very first words in the OP are the following: "sweeping the nation that is affecting many Democrats and liberals across the world as well as many of the board members." Right out of the gate he's attacking board members including me. So why should I help him?

As long as they get SSDI or other govt subsidies, they will be fine. This special snowflake suffers from depression, but I manage to still go to work, and have private insurance that pays my prescription.
Knock off the hate.

I am no expert on stocks, but based on P/E stocks are over valued right now, as they were when Obama left office. It's only gotten more so the last few weeks. It has been a nice ride, but I wouldn't expect it to continue to climb much longer. I so wanted to like this post, but then I do not think the ride will end soon. Depends on whether he can get the tax changes made soon, imo
