When I went out to get my mail yesterday, my dog buddy was outside playing fetch with one of her people. When she came to greet me, she couldn't decide whether she wanted to play fetch, have her tummy rubbed, or give me a kiss. Hilarity ensued. She's not good at making decisions.

I'm winding down on my couch tonight, with the pups. first pic was taken awhile ago, 2nd was markedly later. the golden is not shy about expressing her displeasure at my being on a screen. well, she has been happily panting and smiling since I took that 2nd pic. my foot is falling asleep rn, but I'm not moving it...

My dog buddy came to visit me today. It's been raining, and she hates getting wet, so she hasn't had a good long run outside for a couple of days. She was like a coiled spring with cabin fever. There were so many smells that needed to be sniffed! And the rain makes everything smell different, so every familiar place had to be smelled as well. Then she got the zoomies and raced around like several demons were after her. Then she spotted a rabbit and chased it into the neighbor's yard where it scooted under a bush, which, of course, she didn't notice, so she kept racing around the house looking for the rabbit. Then she went down by the pond and apparently found something very interesting and had to be coaxed back with the promise of a cookie (which fortunately I always have for her) in case what she found was something dead and the temptation to roll in it and make that wonderful scent her own proved to be too great. All this while wearing her spiffy Christmas candy-striped collar with the jaunty felt poinsettia on it. She is an endless source of laughter, which I am sure is good for me, so even though I can't run around with her or take her for walks, she is still keeping me healthy.

this week has been rough on these two, as the roommate is hardly home long enough to feed them before leaving quickly enough to make sure he's out before I come home. whatever, buddy. so much for these two being "your world" and you would die for them. you can't even give them an hour of your time. 🤬 that window seat, though. I'm about to send a couple questions to the apt complex that I'm most likely going to....asking if they can measure from floor to the base of the big windows in both living room and bedroom. I want to buy/build a perch/seat/platform to give her something similar to what she has here.

While this Christmas is off to a bad start.
DH went out with 5 dogs and came home with 2.
DD and I went out to find the other 3. Of course, because she's upset with her dad and worried about the dogs, DD doesn't dress for the weather so she ended up with my neck piece, gloves and hat.
We found the 2 year old. Still missing the 2 1 year olds. I needed to get DD home out of the cold. I'm just having breakfast and I'm waiting for my phone to charge up a bit and then I'm going out again. As long as they aren't hurt and haven't started panicking and ran out of the area, I should be able to find them. It just takes going up and down all of the trails.
We are supposed to be going out for Christmas supper but I don't know if that is going to happen now.

Ok. Now DH is mad at me for some reason and took off with their mom to look for the puppies. I'm guess I'm going to get ready like everything is normal and see what happens.

This is more a question for kittensaver or Molly mouser if they are still around. House up street got destroyed by fire left cat never came back to get. Been feeding cat So I still not let me catch it. Has not been fixed that all I want to do. Than put it out with barn cats. How, what do I need to do to catch it. Tranquilizer? Absolutely tired of spell check, auto correct

Are there any cat rescue groups in your area which might be able to find the cat a home if you can catch it in a live trap?

An update now that I'm home. Puppies turned up.
While DD and I were at DB2's, DH went out looking for the dogs one last time before he lost daylight. Shortly after he got out of the car and blew the whistle, the 2 little beggers came running out of the bush to him.
DH said they were happy to see him but they gave no indication that they had considered themselves lost or abandoned, ie, no one grovelled at pack leader's feet.

mollyc - Of course no one groveled. Puppies had an adventure. There is no puppy reason to think they did anything wrong.
gambler - I second Tennesseer's advice. There are often feral cat rescues that have the live traps specifically for the purpose of catching the cats long enough to spay/neuter.

Thought an updated picture was in order. Both Bill and Ted are about the same size now.

5mi out on the canal this afternoon. Momma needed to clear her head. 45 degrees and sunny, no wind. perfect day for a long walk! and so many pups were out, it was fun.

Gave my dog buddy a new squeak toy for Christmas. She loves squeak toys. She carried it around and showed everyone at Christmas dinner her new squeak toy, then she squeaked it proudly for our entertainment. She's a hoot.

We took the twins to the PT job to say hi on Friday. Jackson of course was in his element. He made friends with everyone that would stop and pay him any attention. Macy was polite but reserved. They were both happy to get out of the house for something other than potty time. It's been so cold we haven't been out much.

I spent New Year's morning binge-watching Time Team and cuddled with the terrier.

the golden keeps staring forlornly out the window, looking for the mooch. 😔 I need to get her out of this house.

On Saturday morning, the weather decided to be nice and not rain, so the dogs and I managed a ~90-minute walk (about 10,000 steps). EDITED TO ADD: This is what they were looking at

I think I'm going to have to beat the twins. Not really, but you get me. I came downstairs this morning and there was trash all over the bathroom that was previously in the trash can which reeks of Macy. Also, the big bed that I bought them last week was all torn up and there was stuffing all over the living room. This reeks of Jackson. Would anyone like a pair of small horses? They're free to a good home.
