They should be safe for a while. I believe we were threatening to invade Mexico yesterday to end the drug war, so they probably have a little bit of time before we get to them.

I'm not a left liberal but a little left of center on many issues. Actually on the right sometimes. Maybe you could convert me?

The boycott of Starbucks will have the same financial affect as the boycott of Chick-fil-a several years ago: their profits will soar. I still won't go to the one here. Admittedly it's not really come up.

I have never stopped by a Chick-fil-a for a sandwich but not because of their political position on social issues but because it is not an area I drive by on a regular basis. Out of site-out of mind. I am biased toward Sonic because it is in an area I drive by on a regulsr basis.

Well, that would be good for them if it was remotely likely to be true. But it seems it's just some jerk who is attempting to capitalize on the fear and hate mongering and gnashing of teeth certain groups are overtaken with over Starbucks decision.
The company currently has 5 open positions, all in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'd be interested to see his expansion plans that are going to get him to 10,000 new hires.
Obviously, some people will buy into his self-serving sound byte. Sad.

Starbucks has hired veterans IT was also their mission to HIRE 10,000 veterans and last I heard they reached that mission or they're very close to it. On top of that, Starbucks offers free college education to veterans and their employees can get free education as well with participating universities...I think veterans can choose any college, however. Not 10 percent certain on the veterans and college bit though I just know that they offer free University to all their employees. I know a person that works at one and wants to stay with the company long term as well because they treat their employee's well. She said one of the reason coffee is so expensive as well compared to other places is because they all get a fair paying wage...
So yeah... ya know because of one "bad thing" in your mind sure boycott it even though they have hired a lot of veterans so you'll also be boycotting a place that hires veterans, gives veterans free college, gives their employees a choice for free college, AND pays their employees a fair wage!
Starbucks has always been about trying to make everyone feel included, and welcomes in their stores, not just white Christians... hence people got mad when they wanted to start saying Happy Holidays to accommodate ALL Americans. But in the same breath THEY actually do support Americans and do a lot for Veterans... and if one really cared about veterans they wouldn't boycott a place that helps them succeed more than a lot of other places...not every place gives free education to veterans, and gives a fair wage...because it even encourages them to get an education then better themselves to leave starbucks!
I'll go spend that money on starbucks coffee knowing that it helps veterans, and employee's get a better education if they seek it...

Just because people support refugees and want to help them from the terror's they faced living in a war zone...doesn't mean they're UnAmerican and only care about refugee's and other countries. Starbucks has went above and beyond a lot of people that complained about hiring refugee's and a lot of companies that have done nothing as well... and has actually helped veterans because you can support veterans while still supporting refugee's... NOW I'm going to go get myself an expensive cup of coffee at starbucks knowing it goes to help people of all walks of life! Not just White Christian Americans... but all sorts of people, from all over the world! MAN. I love diversity!

I was wondering why people even wanted crappy coffee shop jobs, but the free school would answer that question...

I was wondering why people even wanted crappy coffee shop jobs, but the free school would answer that question... Starbucks also let's tips be a thing and they don't start out at min wage in most Starbucks, and even if they do they get raises in most of the places as well! I have a lot of friends that work at starbucks. And I mean not every employee gets free school because it is only certain schools and it's limited choices, a lot have online choices to go to these universities, they have the option but some employees don't want to do online school or move to go to a university that starbucks works with. Veterans I believe get more options though. But starbucks treating their employee's well is why the cost tends to go up with their coffee.. they make anywhere from 8-15 dollars an hour depending on location hourly and then they get tips as well and I believe they get one free drink a day. They can get raises as well and of course the school thing is a choice too! That's pretty good for a job that doesn't require a college education. Sorry other edit. Last month Starbucks announced they were raising their pay again so it could be even higher wages now. My friend makes about 11 dollars an hour and my friend from another state makes around 9.60 an hour.

You do realize that Starbucks has hired 8800 vets since 2013, when they initiated their 10,000 vet goal, right?

They will fire all 21 employees, and spread their hours out over the 10k new employees. Each one should get about 4 hours a year.
then they can all be on #alternativewelfare

Yeah, but even that will only work if they can find 10,000 out-of-work veterans in Salt Lake City. This by the way has become a somewhat humorous arc, but sad that we are only on it because of the ridiculous gullibility of some people who believe so many alternative facts. Doesn't bode well for our future.
