I never used to love Starbucks. I mean I found the taste ok. Now? I LOVE them!!!! They are getting my patronage for the sheer courage.

I had been cutting back on my lattes because I felt I was spending too much. Now I'm indulging with the knowledge that I'm voting with my $

The boycott of Starbucks will have the same financial affect as the boycott of Chick-fil-a several years ago: their profits will soar.

Starbucks also makes it a priority to hire vets. Don't you support our returning troops?

did you actually read your link? why would Starbucks hire Americans in other countries? and why wouldn't they hire people who assisted the US as interpreters for troops and other support staff? I did, and he is starting here in the U.S. Why would he have to "explain" any part of it to the workers? Because he decided not to hire American citizens. You apparently didn't read it very well. Are you opposed to focusing on individuals who supported our forces in their country before coming here?

I buy the 1lb.(?) ground bag Starbucks at the grocery store. Each cup costs me about $.30. And I drink it black so I don't have to worry about sugar, milk, cream, or those flavored cream crap. I'm a cheap drinker.

I don't drink coffee or use ride services, but I think corporations should stay out of politics, the same as they shouldn't impose their religion on their employees. ... or clientele.

I tried Starbucks coffee once... I wouldn't drink it if you paid me (it's actual cost) to. Burnt tasting nasty liquid sludge.

This is all assuming that veterans or refugees actually want to work at Starbucks.
Some people will be professionals.

Did you all hear that drink starbuks to end bigotry/hate is now trending on Twitter? Lol,
My link was apparently corrupt, but while some are complaining Starbucks should only be hiring Americans...link said Starbucks committed to hire 10,000 refugees over 5 years in 75 nations 24,000 stores. 10,000 refugees does not seem like so many when you consider their worldwide operations.

So to complete the math offered bean29's numbers, each Starbucks store could potentially hire all of .41 refugees total during the next five year period. Some stores will hire none (none applying) other may hire more than .41 over a five year period. And Starbucks turnover rate is 65%. Plenty of opportunity for all if one is so inclined to be employed in the fast food industry. Escaping the Burn-and-Churn Employee Treadmill

I don't like coffee. I don't drink coffee. I don't care what a coffee seller does, doesn't do, or how it decorates its cups.

And as usual you have not read my responses, but I understand. Starbucks is starting the program here in the U.S. and he has to tell his associates how great a plan it is, to hire refugees instead of Americans. Gee China is now their largest market, or soon will be. I wonder how many American servicemen and women they will hire in China? How many refugees in China will get a job? I imagine it is HUUGEEE!

lol China and refugees.....anyone know how many Chinese billionaires have simply "disappeared" and have never been seen or heard from again? Billionaires in China are an endangered group. Maybe they will turn up in a China Starbucks serving the masses as "refugees".

I am sorry, I meant the Prime Minister. It has been a long day. I work in a school where the majority of the students are immigrants. They are scared, and I am exhausted trying to keep them calm and feeling safe. Please accept my apology for the error.

I never go to starbucks. Overpriced froo froo late capucino milk shakes, as far as I am concerned. Give me a real cup of coffee, at a decent price! Having said that, good for them. The people they will be hiring are here legally, are new Americans, and face many hurdles. Integrating the newest members of our society into our society is important. And since they are legal - they are paying taxes like the rest of us... I thought it was just the deadbeat lowlife illegal immigrants Trump and GOP were hell bent to remove from America - but apparently it's ALL immigrants - even the one's with citizenship. I'm a little worried about some of my "pasty white immigrant but legal citizen" coworkers - they speak with accents - how soon before even they get deported? Or do they get special dispensation because they are pasty white?
