We just had our last cup of Starbucks coffee

I know many here will disagree with me, but it is banned from our household by both of us today.
If he wants to hire refugees rather than Americans, so be it.
The retiring Chairman has lost his luster anyway. Profit estimates were down this last quarter based on estimates.

Starbucks in a letter from Schultz told employees it would do everything possible to support affected workers.

The hiring efforts announced on Sunday would start in the United States by initially focusing on individuals who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel in the various countries where the military has asked for such support, Schultz said.

Are you opposed to focusing on individuals who supported our forces in their country before coming here?

No no no! I buy the 1lb.(?) ground bag Starbucks at the grocery store. Each cup costs me about $.30. And I drink it black so I don't have to worry about sugar, milk, cream, or those flavored cream crap.

So to complete the math offered bean29's numbers,  each Starbucks store could potentially hire all of .41 refugees total during the next five year period.

Some stores will hire none (none applying) other may hire more than .41 over a five year period. And Starbucks turnover rate is 65%. Plenty of opportunity for all if one is so inclined to be employed in the fast food industry.

I suspect the employees don't care if the hire Veterans, Refugees, inner city employees, college students or special snowflakes as long as they are willing to do the job.

I am sorry, I meant the Prime Minister. It has been a long day. I work in a school where the majority of the students are immigrants. They are scared, and I am exhausted trying to keep them calm and feeling safe. Please accept my apology for the error.

Having said that, good for them.  The people they will be hiring are here legally, are new Americans, and face many hurdles.  Integrating the newest members of our society into our society is important.

And since they are legal - they are paying taxes like the rest of us...

I thought it was just the deadbeat lowlife illegal immigrants Trump and GOP were hell bent to remove from America - but apparently it's ALL immigrants - even the one's with citizenship.

I'm a little worried about some of my "pasty white immigrant but legal citizen" coworkers - they speak with accents - how soon before even they get deported?  Or do they get special dispensation because they are pasty white?
