Trump won because he unabashedly promoted the precise issues that voters had been sending the GOP to Washington to address since 1980. And not coincidentally, Trump won states the GOP hasn't won since the 1980's. And if Trump doesn't deliver, it's hello GOP 2008. This wasn't actually a point I was making to start a discussion or an argument. It's a statement of fact. Trump won with sheer demagoguery- exploiting troubles and fear, and telling people exactly what they wanted to hear. He won with a stunning display of recklessness with the "facts" and sheer disregard for the truth. He told so many bald faced lies they could not all be chronicled. Whether or not he "delivers" is going to be dependent on his evasiveness and his skill with smoke and mirrors as much or more than anything else. (qualities that he has shown considerable skill at, btw) Mexico will NOT pay for a wall, we are NOT going to expel all Muslims, let alone all illegals, and we are NOT going to abrogate all of our trade treaties and the NATO Alliance. Many of his most outrageous claims simply will NOT happen. However he has a willing Congress, and in time a compliant court. If he shows skill in executive governance (which is as big an if as one can postulate) he may be able to get quite a bit done- within the framework of what a President actually can do. IF he can do this, and IF he can keep dancing away from his most egregious lies, he could very well be easily re-elected in 2020. Those are two big "ifs" though, and do not even include the loaded die of foreign events. We'll see. Trump won because he made promises to a disillusioned and disaffected electorate about issues that both parties have betrayed, ignored, or otherwise "schlonged" voters on for decades. Did he lie? We'll find out. My assessment is that he'd better deliver.

Obama has left us sabotaged pretty badly- we now face:
1. Iran 2. A swamp full of illegal aliens 3. "Refugees" (aka Jihadists on Hijrah) 4. Just shy of $8 trillion in new debt for a total nearing $20 trillion 5. QE 6. Silly low interest rates (propping up the markets) 7. A middle east quagmire, including ISIS. 8. ObamaCare 9. Out of control regulatory environment
There are many, many other problems-- but Trump definitely has a full plate, and not everything can be fixed with immigration, deregulation, trade, and taxes. Those are just the beginning of a return to sanity.

Doesn't make me happy or sad... I was simply just pointing out a fact. If you want to convince someone of the truth, it's best to use an inerrantly reliable source... something that Snopes is definitely and provably not. It's not an "opinion". Snopes IS what it is. and what it IS, is far more truthful than you.

what you mean is that you miss the foolish sentimentalism that beguiles the reality of America. miss away. "Never be a cynic, even a gentle one. Never help out a sneer, even at the devil." - Vachel Lindsay "I'm so bored with the USA, but what can I do?" - Joe Strummer

Obama has left us sabotaged pretty badly- we now face:
Sabotage would indicate you feel he deliberately did this. Sure he did.
A 1. Iran A six nation treaty somehow has lit your fuse. Iran is not a problem. 2. A swamp full of illegal aliens He was the deporter in chief. Why not have all the conservative owned businesses fire their illegals. 3. "Refugees" (aka Jihadists on Hijrah) Not really.
4. Just shy of $8 trillion in new debt for a total nearing $20 trillion The proposed Trump tax cuts alone will add $9 trillion. Then there is the rest. Start complaining. 5. QE 6. Silly low interest rates (propping up the markets) It did enable massive refinancing which put some money into consumers pockets. We had a demand issue. 7. A middle east quagmire, including ISIS. One when he came in and still one now. Conservatives lied us into that. Remember? 8. ObamaCare 20 million Americans now have insurance and less people are dying. The pro-family faithy types decry that. 9. Out of control regulatory environment There were fewer regulations added, and more removed than under any president in the last three decades. (Thanks DJ!)
There are many, many other problems-- but Trump definitely has a full plate, and not everything can be fixed with immigration, deregulation, trade, and taxes. Those are just the beginning of a return to sanity.

Once again we see the pro Trumpist claiming we have been "sabotaged" by $8T in new debt under Obama.
Yet this same supporter of Trump is completely ignoring the massive debt trump's economic policies will add. $9T for tax cuts for those that don't need it and who knows how much more for his spending proposals and current budget busters.
At least this new debt can be safely ignored now that we have "the right President" coming into office.

I can't believe how long these ex president bastards live sucking off the great medical care, secret service protection, and salaries. There needs to be a limit to all of it. As well as the politicians. Which former president to you suggest we kill first?

i know what you mean. and again, i stand by what i said. if i show class, it is ONLY for some purpose. there is no purpose it showing class to a poop throwing orangutan, Richard. he will just keep throwing poop. When Trump pins a woman down and rapes her, biting her lower lip to keep control over her-- call me. barring the biting the lip part, here you go: www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/07/27/ex-wife-donald-trump-made-feel-violated-during-sex.htmlwhen you outweigh someone by 150 lbs, i guess you can skip that part.

These dudes make enoug money with book deals, speaking engagements, "foundations", etc. that they can simply reimburse the government for their security.

Let us take it further, a needs based test before benefit payments are made to those who retire from government service. I like it.

POTUS does max 8 years and gets benefits for life? And most do QUITE well in "retirement" with all the deals I mentioned. Typical gov workers dedicate 20 -30 yrs to get bennies and majority of them do NOT get speaking engagements etc. TRY to think with an open mind to new and different ideas. I know it's hard for most of you in here to do that. One of the reasons I don't post here much any longer.

When Trump ties a 13 year old girl up, rapes her, and then beats her in front of witnesses.
I think that's what Paul meant to say.
The civil suit was coming until: 1. She was secretly paid off 2. Threatened with death threats etc. from anonymous sources
Take you pick.
The 'marital' rape of Ivana, which she described under oath in a deposition, was perjured out of the public domain by the large settlement and non disclosure agreement.
Looks like the 'right president' is the rapist-in-chief.

For those who aren't, payments or partial payments would still be made.

[ personally I don't think he did either]

Should we stop protecting 90 year old feeble ex presidents?
It sounds like it would be a deterrent to run for President if you are taxed with paying for your own Secret Service Protection after 10 years.
Or we only get old goats to run.
