What I've found is that now 90% of the time, it's not worth posting on the politics board (in response to others) at all anymore. Truth, facts, logic, common sense and reality no longer matter to certain people. Gloating is all that matters.

Can anyone here tell me exactly how it "makes America great again" to remove all the checks & balances put in place by the founding fathers?
When did we suddenly start pushing cabinet picks thru with no vetting? No checking for conflicts of interest? No requirements or standards at all?
And how excited would you be if Hillary had treated her cabinet selections as "automatics" & the vetting process "unnecessary"? Would you be as thrilled with the way things were being done if the shoe was on the other foot?
If you found that a Hillary nominee had business dealings in a foreign country & would benefit extensively from the position, would you be okay with NO discussion/investigation on the findings?
Is removing all checks & balances, removing all vetting processes for cabinet picks, gutting of the free press, threatening those that don't fall in line, and refusal to answer any questions about all of these things really how one "Makes America great again"?
And isn't it just a tad hypocritical for Mitch McConnell to spend 11 months telling Americans how the Republicans will NEVER even consider a Supreme Court pick by the current President and now he tells us how "we" (the American people) won't tolerate any interference or delays for a Trump Supreme Court pick? Do you REALLY not see it? Or is "winning" really worth gutting everything that this country has stood for?
Are you really willing to throw away ALL sense of morals, decency, laws, rules, check/balances & procedures that this country was built on just to be "right"?
and if you are, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?

It's more like the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

But at this point, it's not. We get it. You hate her. We all know she's not President. So move on or continue to flounder out there with several people (myself included) no longer willing to even acknowledge your posts. and now you go back on "scroll on by" for me.

I know you probably won't see this, but.... that wasn't a "but Hillary was worse". It was a "don't sling stones in only one direction... unless you want to show your bias" You might have missed it but Hillary's name wasn't even mentioned in my post. It might interest you to know that I honestly wasn't limiting it to Hillary supporters. I was pointing out that it's been true of supporters of political candidates for a while, and it's probably going to be true of political candidate supporters for a long while to come (that's why I didn't put Hillary's name in).

Are you ready for 4 years of "NO"? Not only YES!, But Hell, YES! By the way, when a lib calls you a racist, you can call them a hypocrite. Because they are. Big talk, no action. The typical spend other people's money for social programs not mine.

You mean limiting the amount of posts he could make? That rule? going to tag Value Buy as well. the post limiting thing wasn't originally because of Dezi, it actually is from a previous election and a different poster's abundance of threads created in a short period of time. nobody is picking on Dezi. -chiver mod I knew that. The liberals here complained about Paul four years ago, so management made an executive decision at the time, but now it came back to bite one of their own. I decided to rename the rule since Paul has not been an active participant week in week out during the after election "sick in" by the liberals here

Actually, one had nothing to do with the other, believe it or not. Check which mod "complained about the drivel" and which one posted the notice about the two thread limit. Of course they're different. I'm just surprised anything was done since he gets a pass usually. Because of his leanings and for other reasons.

Love to know the other reasons...also I would love to get that pass u mentioned...while it really is none of your business I will hold up my long list of chasting by those in authority with most of those here...at times seems to show up in pm ing me on a weekly basis...believe my chasting rating right now is hovering at 40%...though will say been holding my p's and q's very well....At times , as Steff has said it is very, very hard dealing with those whoe's feelings about others especially those who seem to look a bit different, speak a bit different are dissed by some here.Actually being done in a cowardly way , not open but skirting the corners....Oh stop it, yes u are...we all know it...been that way since u joined the forum...last eight years must have been hell in a basket for you.

The Politics board was so much more fun and easier four years ago. We had about five Republicans and maybe two Independents who did not favor the election of President Obama. We faced an onslaught of about fifteen devout followers of the Democratic ticket (and one Canadian, who did not count because they were not a citizen) who put us down and accused us of racism and poor losers Today we have just about the same numbers of Democratic backers versus Republicans, and we have lost at least one Independent here to their side also. Although the Republican party won a tremendous victory across the country, even if Hillary won the popular vote, the vitriol we receive from the opposition party is even worse than four years ago Hard to even read the posts any more..... Meh. Who cares. The REALITY is that the Democratic Party has shed independents, the white working class, evangelicals, and is even waning with minorities this year as Clinton just didn't excite anyone. I am looking forward to 2020 not really seeing any clear, strong, persuasive or compelling candidates on the horizon on their side? There's no Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, or Obama anywhere in sight.

I told DW if Hillary won I thought some network could cash in by making a TV show about what Trumps presidency would be like. It will soon be here live, as I said after the election I'm grabbing some popcorn and watching the shit show. A Trump presidency will likely benefit me financially.

I am looking forward to 2020 not really seeing any clear, strong, persuasive or compelling candidates on the horizon on their side? There's no Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, or Obama anywhere in sight. That may be, but all three of the people that you mention came up rather quickly, especially Jimmy Carter, who emerged almost as quickly and surprisingly as Donald Trump has. However 2020 will be a referendum on Trump. If he does well he will likely have eight years if he really wants them, like any President. If he bombs, Hillary may be able to run and win in 2020. ;~) Jimmy Carter is actually one of the under-rated political geniuses of our time. His failed presidency has eclipsed the incredible meteoric rise-- and the techniques he used. Something very interesting he did was (mind you he didn't have a computer- or Google- or email) he compiled a list of all of the Dems who ran in the '74 mid-terms and LOST (not won) and he wrote each of them encouraging them to keep trying. By encouragement of those out of power, but who had run campaigns and were well-known and connected, he created loyal supporters. When he announced (with a 2% name-recognition) he had an army of support in all 50 states of those he had simply reached out to with a bit of encouragement. He's a grumpy old asshole now- no doubt bitter about the fact that his presidency is regarded as one of the worst and the credit for the stuff he did right (Paul Volker comes to mind) went to Reagan (and he's an awnry antisemite to boot) but he was at the time known as one of the nicest people in politics-- contrasted with the Nixon-era and on the heels of Ford's pardon of Nixon-- he perfectly positioned himself for the win.

"He's a grumpy old asshole now"...are u sure about that? Man seems to have gained great respects around the globe and no not just because of his helping build homes for the poor. He has authored numerouse books..seems just about all well received by those in the know...he has been successful as a diplomat being sent to some of the scariest places on earth to negotiate with some of the most horrible people and been successful..believe he is in his 90's..was diagnosed with a Cancer but now seems in remission. A far as his being anti-semetic, I question that. I know he got along better with the late Egyptian leader Sedat vs the Israeli PM Begin..who wouldn't. Sedat very personable..Begin anything but..but is that a surprise? Begin was a flinty person, shaped by the holocaust..having lost so many families..leader of the militant band..Irgun..party in the beginning if the State hoping to be it's leader..lost that one. Leading up to the fight for independence..to force British out of the area..give up the mandate conducted attacks against British...Irgun blew up the King David Hotel killing numerouse British officers and enlisted men and wounding hundreds more when the Hotel was a unofficial British HQ..Begin sanctioned the attack as Irgun leader..as he was when the Irgun hung three British solders in retaliation of the British hanging captured Jews they accused of terrorism...then leader of Israel. Since then Carter criticised Israeli treatment of the Palastinians, feel a two State solution is the way to go..Actually many feel Israelis treat the Palastinians in the terrotories like crap..even so many Israelis feel the same way.. Feel with out a two state solution Israeli in time is doomed as a democracy as in time the Palestineans will surpass Israelis an population and if u don't then give them all the vote equally then u become a aparti State..think like South AFrica back in the day....World turns against u..all kinds of sanctions on...probably USA too...and then what..so because he feels there should be a two state solution..liked Sedat over Begin...does that in your mind make him a anti semite? Personally I don't believe so but that is me.
