I spent $10 last night for dinner after choir practice. It's OK though as my monthly budget amount is $90/mo and I normally don't spend that much.
Today was bible study then was home the rest of the afternoon.....no spending today. Budget stays intact. Tomorrow is VA and have already packed my lunch.

I didn't spend for 8 days in a row. (I had no wheels and was stuck at my apartment).See, now THAT would never work for me. I would get bored, surf Amazon, and be halfway done with my Xmas shopping. Plus of course the "little bits and pieces" that I'd have found to reward myself for being so forward looking

It is Friday! My Starbucks will be free today. I'm hosing a pancake & waffle breakfast for the department. It will be a good day. I bought my movie ticket last night. Some spending that will likely happen this weekend: Truly unplanned - the floor lamp in our bedroom has been broken (but working) for years. This week, it's decided to stop working. I'll check thrift stores first. Should have been planned - I will buy either a pass to gym here at the U, or a pass for the local pool this weekend, so I can go swim some laps.

Plus of course the "little bits and pieces" that I'd have found to reward myself for being so forward looking I had to look at all the devastation around me from a flash flood. It killed the desire to shop. People all around me lost everything but the clothes on their backs. I returned to work last Monday. All day long I have to work out in the devastation, and see the contents, and interior walls of peoples home out by the road. I really don't feel like shopping right now. I'm down to eating two meals a day. Between the sadness, and exhaustion, I don't have an appetite.

I have learned to use up and not stock up on a lot of things.

went grocery shopping this morning, spent about $50 on produce and sale frozen bulk stuff. that's planned, though.
today's unplanned expenditure was a stash of funky drawer knobs for the trundle bed in the spare bedroom and my own bedroom closet. 8 knobs, each different and crafted. can't wait to put them in once I paint (I already have the paint) a refresher coat on the trundle.
$62

I spent $12.88 on lunch. I'm really not feeling good enough to do much.

Just realized I hadn't checked in here yet today. Busy morning where I haven't had a moment to log on. Pop Tart visit was cancelled due to circumstances beyond control. Hope to reschedule for this weekend. Friday night I was so tense and my body just ached from the tension, so I decided to spend the evening at a women only spa where I got to soak in hot tubs for a couple of hours and then go lay down in a room where the floor is essentially a whole body heating bad. Very worth the $40. Saturday, I went to Target to buy the replacement floor lamp. I did. $8. Also, I determined I probably should not be allowed to go to Target on my own. (See picture at end of post.)

Okay, plan for the week. Hopefully rescheduling Pop Tart visit. Upping unplanned spending because Friday is going to be a stressful day (legal stuff) and who knows what the plan will be. But, I made enough food for Sunday Family Dinner last night to see me through the week. I did not buy a pass to go swimming last week, so I will do that this week. And we might go see Princess Bride in the theater on Sunday.

Not that it means anything, but this "unplanned spending" absolutely has my stamp of approval! (very occasionally) Buying something that gives you so much pleasure is good for your soul

Not putting in the chart this morning because nothing has changed since I posted yesterday. I will be pulling $25 out today to go in on a baby gift for a co-worker. I also have my first paycheck at the usual amount now that I have my raise. With that, I've run the numbers for paying off the credit cards before the promotional 0% rates expire. And the truth is, I have enough money. I have more than enough money, including a substantial monthly allowance. I just need to be smart about how I spend it. Which is why I intend to stay here to try and plan out my weeks, to be mindful of my spending.

$0.00 yesterday.
$23 today. I had a small inner tantrum when dinnertime approached, and I did not want anything to do with what I had brought from home. I found myself at Whole Foods. I bought two things from the sushi bar for dinner and a handful of produce items for both home and office. that was $22. the other dollar was for a snack bag of Doritos when I got to work and was hangry for some reason.
I have one more takeout day in the weekly budget. if I do that tomorrow night for dinner, I can give myself more options in working through the leftovers I've already brought in.

Except for bill paying I have not spend anything so far this week. I have been keeping busy at home and managed to rarely leave the house this week except for exercise -- started taking a class at the gym which is included in my membership. I no longer am working with my personal trainer -- she needed to cut back on commitments and now that I am retired with reduced money coming in, I decided to take the classes instead of paying extra for services similar to what she provided for me.

Thursday morning I got news that basically caused a mini-emotional breakdown. Friday was also a rough day. I pretty much hermit-ed for the weekend (and through yesterday). That does mean I didn't spend. However, I did have an extra medical copay, because on top of everything else, I realized that the spot on my forehead I kept hoping was a zit was actually the start of a shingles outbreak. It had been so long (4+ years) since I had an outbreak, I had to go to urgent care before they would renew my Rx. I only got Starbucks 2x in the week, did not have the Pop Tart visit over the weekend, and my BFF bought the movie tickets (so I just bought snacks) for Sunday. Of course, my mini breakdown also kept me from getting the swimming pass and starting on that, so I still need to do that this week.

Unlike last week I have spent this week. Some expenses were scheduled -- termite premium, RX refills and one new RX, makeup while on sale. Others were not -- lunch with a friend, attending a play. Then there were the sales taxes from the craft show-- this will be taken from the little profit that I made.
I have no idea wit the rest of the week will entail.

About to go get myself lunch on campus. PT went well. She doesn't think I'll need surgery any time soon. Follow up in 3 weeks. Have an actual plan for the visit with Pop Tart this weekend. Will be going to see a movie, but using tickets I bought at CostCo (basically 2 for 1) so that part is already paid for. It will just be some snacks that I need to cover this weekend. It appears I did not get our September auto insurance bill, so currently I'm technically without insurance. Told our agent might as well do a quick search then, and see if this company is still the best deal.
I'll be going out to dinner with friends tomorrow night. Last minute plan that just got made today.
