?
I've been asking all over, so lets discuss it here... I just don't see who can win?
Pawlenty or Romney seem better suited, but i'm not sure either can pull it off?
And i think the primary process will give republicans some trouble... in that a person could get the nomination who has no chance at getting the white house...
So what do you think?

Personally I like Huckabee's chances if he chose to run. He has less baggage than a lot of candidates but he is probably making a lot more money than being president with a lot less heartburn

In the 2006 Minnesoata gubernational election (the last election he ran in), Tim Pawlenty was re-elected with 46.7% of the vote. At least that was an increase over the 44.4% who elected him to his first term. Maybe if there is a strong third party candidate running so that he would need less than 50% of the vote, he could win the presidency.

I didn't know that about Pawlenty... maybe lack of name recognition will work in his favor, allow him to recreate himself a bit?
I don't know if Huckabee can keep moderate, non evangelical voters? ... and personally i don't think i'd give up the $$ gig...

How about Ex-Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty??
He is 50 years old which is young for Presidential Candidates I think? He just established a presidential exploration committee with the Federal Election Commission. I know that Minnesota gave us Ex-Governor Jesse "the Body" Ventura, Senator Al Franken and Congresswoman Michelle Bachman, but Pawlenty is not of that mold. IMHO. He comes from a middle class background and was a blue collar worker in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul...and his speeches so far have been about the economic recovery and his ideas on this subject.
However I don't think Pawlenty is a former Marine so I am not sure I will support him or not ....oh well nobody is perfect I guess?? ;D

Palin, Romney, Christie, Rubio, or some other yet not prominent conservative. I like Rubio, but he has no plans to run for POTUS Marco Rubio: I want to be a senator, not president or vice presidentNewly inaugurated Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says he has no interest in being the Republican vice presidential candidate in 2012.
“I’m flattered that people would ask that question, because I think they mean it in a complimentary way. But, by the same token, I recognize that this job — this one job that I wanted, I wanted to be a U.S. senator, not a vice presidential candidate, not a presidential candidate,” Rubio told 92.5 radio in Fort Myers when asked if he would consider the job. “I didn’t run to use it as a stepping stone, I ran to because I wanted to be a U.S. senator.”
“I’m not going to be able to do this job well unless I’m 100 percent committed to it,” Rubio added. “And even with 100 percent of my focus on it, it’s going to be a tough job. So I can’t afford any distractions, or any of these other things.”

The way the reps are behaving in the house, screwing the people every chance they get, is not going to inspire the great unwashed masses to vote for a rep president. We can't take 4 more years of Barry, but the reps are just about guaranteeing it.

r paul.......either one will do..........but i don't think the rep party will waste a good choice in 2012, unless the market still sucks, unemployment is still at 8 or 9% and it proves to be a good time for a one term obama

Isn't Jesse Ventura planning to run with Congresswoman Bachman and make it an all Minnesota president and vice president ticket?? They have to work out who will be on top of this all Minnesota ticket.... Jesse weighs 285 lbs and Ms Backman weighs 145 lbs so maybe it will be Michelle??

You can probably safely add 4% to 6% to Pawlenty's numbers in a nationwide campaign. Pawlenty's main problem is going to be the TEA Party. Right now, they are very tepid and unsure of plain vanilla, nice guy candidates. He's going to have to stake out some positions on tough issues, and demonstrate he's a fighter. TEA Party voters are looking for a Chris Christie.

Any current or former governor who oversaw a state with major financial problems is going to have a serious challenge convincing voters he can do anything to solve the national financial catastrophe we are currently experiencing. If he can't fix his state, how will he fix the even more dysfunctional Fed?

Dunno, really, oped. They're going to have to polish the woodwork and shake out the carpets to find a viable candidate, as I see it. Romney is out there, but I'm not sure he could win. I really don't see Palin as having an iceburg's chance in hell. Pawlenty might, but he'd have to get moving quickly. In fact, any who might have designs on the White House had best get their hat in the ring pretty soon now, IMO.

The good news is that Obama was a virtual no name two years out from the 2010 election, so the Republican candidate doesn't need to have big name recognition today in order to win.

News Flash...
Dennis Kucinich was just stopped for speeding in Ohio by a state Trooper ....So Dennis who is only 4' 11" was highly pissed off for being pulled over in his SUV and went ballistic ...he jumped out of his SUV..yelling and screeching, " You dumb SOB don't you know who I am and I want you to know I am not happy" And the Ohio State Trooper who towered over this little man said politely " I know you are not Happy but which one of the other seven dwarfs are you?"
BTW if Dennis decides to run against Obama for president he promises you will get two for one because he will nominate his wife as our Secretary of State if he becomes our next president.. However he is still undecided as of a few days ago...so stay tuned

I've heard blips about Mitch Daniels. I want to say he's mentioned the idea the the next Republican candidate will have to put social issues on the back burner. I am not sure he will make it through the primaries though.

How about Romney for President and a new fresh face for Vice President ie. Pawlenty, Daniels, or another less well know Republican governor or member of congress??
My idea is when we have the Vice Presidential debates with Joe Biden vs Pawlenty or Daniels it could be a game changer with Joe making tons of gaffs and Pawlenty or Daniels having their stuff altogether and more impressive than Ole Joe

I doubt most would have cared so much about Palin in this past election if the media hadn't tried to make such a huge deal in attacking her.

Many political experts said the Bush 41 lost to Clinton because of Quayle. And I worked with Dan Quayle at the Johnson Space Center in 1992 and thought he was dumber than dirt.. then a few months later he gave the commencement address at the Naval Academy and it was an insult to our cadets because he bombed big time with his stupid jokes and anecdotes...it was embarrassing to listen to.
Quayle said that he often wanted to be a Naval Aviator but decided to take up golf instead and then he started to laugh at this joke while the cadets looked at each other and wondered who is this @@@@@@@..

I'm not sure you're right there, politically incorrect. At least, you're way off as far as I'm concerned, and as far as most I know are concerned. I look quite closely at Vice Presidential candidates.
